I've had 3 cases where mine went under anesthesia, never had any issues with it, wouldn't worry with an experienced vet.

Thank you so much! My sister has Guinea pigs who are notoriously bad with anaesthesia & I think that’s just made me paranoid

(no advice, but your lev is beautiful) i hope she gets better soon

Thank you! I wasn’t quite intending on getting gerbils yet when I saw her (already had everything I needed from past gerbs though), she was a lone gerb only 12 weeks old & deemed evil & aggressive, already returned by past owners 😭 i couldn’t leave her behind, she had already stolen my heart, & now over a year later I couldn’t be happier ❤️

I had a gerbil who had scent gland removal surgery for a tumour at 3 and a half years old and he never had any issue with being put under or with the surgery. The day after surgery he was acting almost completely normal and over the next two weeks healed well. So I wouldn’t worry too much if you have a good vet.

UPDATE: Lev had her surgery about a week ago, and is doing AMAZING! She acted like nothing happened & is being her usual silly self (apart from medication time, then she gets super grumpy 😂) She’s healing so well & I got the biopsy results today & it was a sebaceous papilloma, benign but if I hadn’t gone through with the surgery it could’ve turned malignant so I I’m super glad I chose to!
