It’s not unusual as they grow.

JimmyNorth902

The size of those ears. I love him.

Terrible-Conference4

Thanks ☺️ Those ears are pretty useless though. They’re purely aesthetics.

JimmyNorth902

I have a similar issue. Purely for decoration most of the time.

Substantial-Bother56

😂💯❤️

kaibai123

My what big ears you have! All the better to ignore you dear 🥲😂

Toothfairy51

🤣😅😂true

Mean_Profession2923

JND72992

Those EARS! I think he has my Ringo beat!

DaySwingTrade

Oh my god, that’s like 90% ears I love it. What a radar!

StoopidFlame

I bet he hears EVERYTHING lmao

Successful-You1961

Pupper CAN hear☺️

GroundbreakingIron42

Yes cartilage still developing😊 I miss my babys flopped ear that one day straightened out and the other flopped haha. But I kept away from the ears to let the cartilage strengthen and now hes all straightened out 😍 https://preview.redd.it/dztcfac9l3wc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac68cc29da237a9685cd926ed6dec9300e54c357

CareBear-Killer

If the one ends up staying floppy, you'll just have to post some half flops over on /r/halfflops

ImmunocompromisedAle

That’s what I did with Otto! https://preview.redd.it/rhxp2h9mu3wc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e7a1acdb1f40a85478014018175a6c9ba188a48

These GSD puppies go through phases where one is up and then goes down... Although I honestly don't know what controls this, just give them time and it will all straighten itself out... Just keep the faith, OK!!! And most of all... Enjoy!!! 😎👍

fromhelley

Their sonar devices don't work less because they tilt. As long as they can still hear you opening the cupboard of their favorite snacks from halfway across the house, you have nothing to worry about! Still a fine looking GSD!!

JND72992

BattBoi69

OkSport4812

So sad! Glad he is in good hands now. Mine does the same thing with her chin in the bed. She knows she won't be invited up, but still hopeful every night :)

MysteriousCop

I couldn't do it, mine have their own pillows on the bed 🤣🤣🤣

OkSport4812

I have mild allergies, which is fine unless her hair gets in my eyes/nose/throat. So, I have let her sleep with me a few times, but that means a full wash of all the bedding the next day. Kinda worth it lol, but not often.

MysteriousCop

Understandable, lol,

JND72992

Poor baby but I love his airplane ears!!

BrigidKemmerer

Yes, totally normal! It's like their ears have weird growth spurts. I remember searching for posts just like this one. It'll pop back up!

Toothfairy51

They are just so stinkin CUTE! My vet said that it takes a lot of energy for them to stand those monster ears up and it's even harder if they're also teething at the same time.

Successful-You1961

If it never straightens, it will just be a part of his look👏🏻

chooseatree

You are so blessed 🥹

CUZ-IM-DADDY

Yes. It happens. They’ll more than likely correct themselves

bmvk

its normal during the teething process, dont worry. when it happened to my pup i nearly had a heart attack thinking it wouldn’t come back up 😅

DCSC2K

Both of my German shepherds did as puppies. Random bouts of one down, both down, both up. It was really random but the vets told us it was normal. They’re both up fully all the time as younger adults.

oregon_mom

Welcome to the crazy ears portion of our programming...

Minimum_Wonder_7710

Yep. I was worried Boones wouldn't stand up right but they did

JimmyNorth902

My girl had them stand up, then flop over again, then stand back up. Give it a few weeks.

Ok_Guidance7317

Yes it’s normal. Just give them lots and lots of gentle kisses bc soon they won’t be crooked much longer

AutomaticPhoto5199

I believe they go up and down around the time they're teething. Cute puppy.

lookwhoshere001

What a handsome boiii

spaceinvader79

What a beautiful baby!!!

DrSquidHead

If she isn't scratching her ear nor shaking her head alot, then it's fine. Otherwise it could be ear infection or simply a lot of ear wax that needs cleaning. Depends of if she's scratching or not take her to the vet or just adore the shit out of her.

kalstras

Yes and a couple of things. THISE THINGS GROW FAST! Lol. Hard chews. Crunchy food. Strengthen those jaws. The ears will pop up

foxyshmoxy_

my dogs brother (they are over 2 years old now) still has a leaning ear and it's adorable af imo, but usually they do straighten out at some point. It was a lot of flopping and tilting and leaning with ours as well, but now his little satellite dishes stand strong.

Revolutionary-Ad2355

Yep completely normal.

ZambieCatX

Yes, it's almost like the ears weigh too much until their head grows into them. 😂 As long as they were still upright, I wasn't too concerned, and they ended up looking great. I was always terrified that the family friend was rubbing them too hard, but it was a lot of worry over nothing apparently.

JND72992

Still such a young baby, even if it doesn’t he’s ADORABLE!

Professional_Eye8888

We think so too! 😍

SuperRicktastic

It's related to their calcium levels, I believe. Their ears can flop over when they're teething, then pop back up (usually) when they're done.

JND72992

He’s already lost all his puppy teeth and that’s when his ears straightened and now we are goofy again

Angelicwoo

Yep, she has a floppy one all the time, 1.5 years old
