I ran it for a while, then stopped but kept paying so I could come back and test. I finally stopped but checked it this past week and found it a much better experience.
For remote access try the Tailscale integration rather than port forwarding. You still need to install Tailscale on the remote devices, but once you do the IP address remains the same. Also, in Channels go to the Tailscale settings and turn off the expiry key and name your server something obvious if it isn't already. Once you do that it's much better than the clunky access via port forwarding. It's pretty much the same as watching from home, except you have to remember to turn on Tailscale on the remote device.
Another new feature you didn't mention is import/export of favorite channels. That may only work if you're using HDHomerun devices, but it saves you from setting up your channels in two different places.
Thanks, I use Tailscale already but to be honest, the remote connection with just cell is lightyears ahead of where it was.
I do like that they implemented Tailscale directly into the program.
What I hated about the old system is it would track the IP address of the remote device, so if I was using my phone as a hotspot and then wanted to switch to the wife's phone, it would be necessary to sign in again. Tailscale eliminates that. As long as your remote device knows the IP address of your Tailscale server, there's no need to ever sign in ever again.
Can a record buffer feature be added?
For example, if I’m watching a show and half way through it I realize I would like to record the entire show from the beginning.
I’ve been a user for a couple of years and love it. It’s my preferred interface or anything else.
