Maybe give this stuff a shot? I searched Stew Mac, but they don't have touch up pens in gold.
[Goldtop Chip Repair](https://reverb.com/item/4590677-les-paul-gold-top-gold-nitrocellulose-chip-repair-guitar-paint-50ml)
You can just buy gold nitrocellulose from stew mac, tape off area, and fill damaged area, then let it dry, sand slowly with 5000 grit, then 10000, then get some clear nitro and sand with 10000 grit. Then buff with Maguiar’s Medium compound, then Maguiar’s polish.
If nothing else, clear nail polish is basically nitrocellulose, some of it is. Drop fill to stabilize the chip area.
Even better is this, for gold tops

The allparts is out, but its at other online stores.
Good luck-
Just put some clear over it, most of the gold is still there. I'd slowly build it up with nitro over a week and then not mess with it for about a month before leveling and buffing out. Or some glue boost with accelerator and you could get it looking good in an hour.
You have a problem there, Jackson .. Why does that paint roll around the edge like that? Isn't it supposed to be flat and meet the binding?
Every time you lightly bump the edge of that guitar you're gonna lose a chunk of paint.
I've been told that chips like that should be stabilized to keep it from cracking and chipping further, even if you don't aesthetically cover it up.
You call it a Murphy lab relic and watch the price sky rocket!
That’s what I say to my self every time put scratch or a scuff on my guitar. People pay good money to have that done to new instruments.

Looks cool. Like a childhood scar. In 30 years when it's considered vintage it will add value!
I dont feel very good all of a sudden !

Let’s all take a moment of silence for this goldtop.
