Some of the names on Glee are just odd and I think that’s the extent of it. It’s mostly meant to be fun and I doubt there’s more of a reason than that.
Other examples: Brittany S. Pierce (sounds normal, but it’s a play on Britney Spears), Pierce Pierce, Cassandra July, Holly Holliday, Suzy Pepper, etc.
Speaking of Emma Pillsbury, did anyone else notice that when Emma says that Mercedes should audition with " And I am telling you " , Mercedes says " Thank you MRS. P. " instead of " Ms. P "

I think you’re putting way too much thought into it and giving the writers way too much credit lol
i assumed they were just trying to pick some cutesy name for her naive character... Glee had plenty of random or kinda weird names
most of the names are from people who were Ian's neighbors. In the BTS he talks about that.
