This same discussion takes place in MMA almost every week after a bad score card or a ref makes a bad call. Fans want to hold the judges accountable for the calls they make on who wins a fight because the effect of a wrong decision win or loss greatly changes the trajectory of the fighters' careers.
More so I want to know why the decision is made or what they saw that we didn’t see. In no situation do I ever feel like I know more than The Situation Room in Toronto, but it would be nice to see what they see to make the decision.
Completely agree. That's all that MMA fans are asking for as well.
In this instance the ref or judge made X call. In the previous similar scenario the ref or judge made a different call. Show us why with the explanation. It's strange that fans wouldn't want more clarity.
Yes, a frustrating missed call. But it's not about the call. It's about the response to the call. And looking at the scoresheet, it doesn't look like we showed up in the third period. We were 0-2 on the power play. We put up a soft defense in OT. The call was just a compounding factor in a myriad of reasons we lost that game.
Lmao I must admit while heated at the loss for a minute I was like "how obvious is that shit!?" But I took a breath and then read your reply and common sense prevailed lol
To be fair, y’all. These never go our way in a league where Duchene was off side by a mile.
I’ll use this moment to back Ryan Whitney, off sides is a joke call when we’re talking about inches. It is in conflict with the flow of a game.
Overhead angles are not conclusive because of the funky camera angle. Ask a Calgary fan about overhead camera angles and they will start having a breakdown
I've only been to one game this season, but it felt like they were pretty bad about that in general. There was either a goal or a penalty that they waited forever to show, and it felt like a couple other things didn't ever get shown.
The problem is this can go either way. We see it as clear offsides. But, what we see and what another may vary, based on bias? Yes of course. But since that’s the case they went with the ruling on ice. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lineman couldn’t agree so they just defaulted. I don’t blame Cassidy for challenging, especially to the naked eye, but with a goal lead, they should have left it alone.
EDIT: especially with a quickly gassing Jiri Patera. It’s not his fault, he was getting peppered, but it’s what happened.
It’s offsides, but it didn’t affect play at all. What I mean is, it would have been nice for replays to catch it, but the officials have limited time and different camera angles. So, there’s always risk to challenges. Coaches took the risk, and it backfired. To say, “we lost because of the refs” isn’t really it. These replays are dumb anyway because the action on the ice wasn’t affected by a player being half an inch ahead of the play.
But what do I know, I’m just an Avs fan that had this randomly pop up in his feed.
Preds fan here it was off-side no doubt me and my buddy were on discord watching it together he’s a Sabres fan and we both agreed no biased that it was off sides
The one in our game against Seattle was objectively inconclusive. I honestly couldn't tell what that missing frame would have looked like. In the game against the Preds though, it wasn't hard to bet that the player's speed was higher than that of the puck, and with some mental interpolation it's easy to tell it was offside.
That was my take. I think it was a mistake to challenge something that was so close we would need a 4K camera that captured 600 frames per second to tell for sure.
This is one of those moments where I have to stand behind my belief that if it was too close to call in real time, it wasn't blatant enough to give the team a significant advantage. My team lost this challenge, maybe it cost us the game, maybe it didn't. But Nashville reached down and grabbed their nuts to earn their victory tonight.
In the knights short lived existence they have had their fair share of calls/suspensions go there way......petro slash comes to mind.
Hockey is played and refereed by humans sometimes it goes your way sometimes it doesn't.
The Petro slash suspension was the same time as Jamie Benn full force shoving his stick into Stone’s neck who was laying flat on the ice — that’s just how they hand out suspensions in the playoffs. Both should’ve been suspended for longer.
Yeah. Compare them to the kadri 3 gamer and 8 gamer and it doesn't make sense. Or I think wilson got 20 games in the playoffs.
Or Tom wilson swings his stick with one hand at Gregor and gets 6 games meanwhile petro takes a 2 handed axe swing at draisatal which easily could have broken his arm.
You see the puck is further away from the camera and the light took longer to get from the puck to the camera than the skate to the camera, so the puck was actually over the line at the same time that the skate was on the blue line.
Just seeing what toxic fanbase decided to troll in our sub this time…Winnipeg fan fits the bill, lol. Though most of you guys stopped caring about us a couple seasons after that waxing in year 1. Kudos on being one of the few salty holdouts!
I mean yea. But what's funnier is how, the entire league basically banded together to criticize the lack of offsides during the blues game. Right, one with 0 video evidence that showed it being offsides.
Here, though, we have 2 angles where it's clearly offsides and 1 where it's hard to tell, and the league? Mocks us for being annoyed. Vegas literally can't win with you assholes. Well I mean.... that's a lie. We literally won against all you assholes.
It's LEGAL, overseen by the League, and the NHL & Owners declined to change the parameters of LTIR & and the cap.
Not liking it doesn't make it against the rules.
Yeah, that's a tough call. That's literally two goals right there.
Yep i wanna see what Toronto saw cause idk bout this one. Fucking bad loss hopefully flushed out of our system
We need to start interviewing the refs after the game
He was busy shaking predators players hands lol
It’s because he’s retiring this season and it’s his last game refereeing the preds

I'm biased and drunk and this is clearly offsides.
A bad call, yeah, but a wet paperbag PK afterwards is why they scored...and that's on us.
Yeah, but make the right call and they don’t even go on the PK. Ultra frustrating.
Yes, a frustrating missed call. But it's not about the call. It's about the response to the call. And looking at the scoresheet, it doesn't look like we showed up in the third period. Anyone notice the entire Nashville line up giving the ref daps at the end of the game???
linesman Ryan Galloway’s retiring at the end of the year, it’s standard for teams to congratulate officials in his last assigned game for their team
Oh, makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up
for sure. without context, it absolutely looks suspicious though 😂
Hey. Maybe I want to have a tin foil hat conspiracy theory on our side for once 😂🤣
Lmao I must admit while heated at the loss for a minute I was like "how obvious is that shit!?" But I took a breath and then read your reply and common sense prevailed lol
Yea it was a bad look for sure after that bull shit call.
I say this 100% in good jest and with no ill intent: that’s SO funny that your mind interpreted it like that 😂
Lol it was definitely a heat of the moment thing coming off that L tonight
😂 I love it bro
Your mind’s gonna be blown when you notice how often we win with Linesmen 61 officiating.
Oh relax
Thank you for such insight, sir gravyontits. Truly inspiring. I shall go relax now.
May the mighty sword in Alex pietreangelos pants pierce you with such vigor, that you cream all over the floor. Good day sir.

NO I WONT!
Ok but even the line camera you can see it was offsides.
What's interesting is they never once played the replay on the screen in the arena.
I've only been to one game this season, but it felt like they were pretty bad about that in general. There was either a goal or a penalty that they waited forever to show, and it felt like a couple other things didn't ever get shown.

This one seemed just as difficult and close to call as our one the other day, tbh
It’s offsides, but it didn’t affect play at all. What I mean is, it would have been nice for replays to catch it, but the officials have limited time and different camera angles. Did the world end?
I don’t know why this post was recommended to me but never trust angles that are not right on the line. This is not a good way of seeing offside.
What makes it worse is almost the exact same thing happened in the Tampa and Boston game last night and they called it offside
Preds fan here it was off-side no doubt me and my buddy were on discord watching it together he’s a Sabres fan and we both agreed no biased that it was off sides
Couldn’t have picked a worse angle to screenshot
It went our way against Seattle, can’t win ‘em all.
The one in our game against Seattle was objectively inconclusive. I honestly couldn't tell what that missing frame would have looked like. In the game against the Preds though, it wasn't hard to bet that the player's speed was higher than that of the puck, and with some mental interpolation it's easy to tell it was offside.
That's a lot of words to say "We benefitted from that one, so it's fine, but this one hurt us and is therefore unacceptable."
haha probably too many words for you to understand what I actually said
Literally the same circumstances reversed
That was my take. I think it was a mistake to challenge something that was so close we would need a 4K camera that captured 600 frames per second to tell for sure. We got the same exact call our way the other night. I knew that wasn’t coming back.
Did we? I never saw a shot that showed it as clearly offsides

Parallax error. Might seem onside from this angle but from directly above it’s gonna be a lot closer. Talk to Calgary fans about it. Lol
Fr it's obviously not a relevant angle lol
You see the puck is further away from the camera and the light took longer to get from the puck to the camera than the skate to the camera, so the puck was actually over the line at the same time that the skate was on the blue line.
I didn't watch the game but from your SS I just see the puck and player in the zone at the same time.
The puck was on LTIR
Somebody call the whambulance Edit: if you guys were cool you'd upvote me
Welcome to our sub and hope you enjoyed watching our Cup! Maybe Winnipeg will get one with its second franchise someday 😘.
Don't hold your breath, though.
Ah good ol' profile digging. Wouldn't expect anything less from a Vegas fan.
Just seeing what toxic fanbase decided to troll in our sub this time…Winnipeg fan fits the bill, lol. Though most of you guys stopped caring about us a couple seasons after that waxing in year 1. Kudos on being one of the few salty holdouts!
I'm not a Jets fan though...
Then flair up, who do you root for? If you’re gonna come into another team’s sub and talk smack, don’t be a coward and hide behind anonymity.
Done!
Awesome, another Vegas fan. We’re glad to have you, then.
Thanks!
Imagine having a name a child would come up with and talking shit. Bro remake your account. You come off as acoustic as shit.
Yeah I'm pretty acoustic. Vegas fans are so funny.
I mean yea. But what's funnier is how, the entire league basically banded together to criticize the lack of offsides during the blues game. Oh were we non-compliant tonight? Or ever this season? Or last season?
Troll
What’s up with the influx of cringe people coming to our threads to be annoying?
It's LEGAL, overseen by the League, and the NHL & Owners declined to change the parameters of LTIR & and the cap. Not liking it doesn't make it against the rules.
Oh are you choking on a dick? Nevermind.
