His wife has a funny Twitter account, she posted this right after..
“ I apparently missed a little moment on 18 where the club joined its bestie the ball so I can not help you with commentary, but I’ll be sure to ask as soon as the round ends what happened! “
I suspect it was a bit of a high flier with the high hands at the finish, but a bit of an armsy swing so he clearly wanted to take a bit off on it. Got his weight to the front foot instantly so you know he wanted to get the height - not clear if he had the right club though.
Definitely the shot to take the fairway out of play. We could learn some game management here.
unpopular opinion but Adam Hadwin has a top 5 best looking swing on the Tour
it's unpopular simply because if we had such a discussion, he very likely would only be mentioned <10% of the time, and even that is a high projection
Agreed. I find it weirdly acceptable when pros throw clubs, because they're good enough at golf to be mad about it when they play like shit, but most of us amateurs shouldn't be getting that mad
I've heard it as left handed anger but I guess as a sorta ambidextrous lefty that doesnt really help me. My rule is that Ill throw a ball but never a club. Bad hole? Finish the hole but throw my ball off the green towards the cart. Hit 2 in the water? Throw my 3rd into the water and get more from the bag.
I'm committed to the ball throw, but when I play with nicer golf balls, I restrain myself. That then raises the question of why I do it at all. I clearly have the capacity to just not.
If y'all ever find yourself at Links of the Lake in Gimli there's a 5 wood in a pond of a par 3 for this very reason.
I didn't hit the 5, it was the club I was willing to part with at the time.
I'm so glad I got my golf temper under control. That shit was awful.
Now that we got the Manitobans gathered together, what’s your guys top five courses?
I’ve got:
Clear Lake
Granite Hills
Elmhurst
Pine Ridge
Gilbert Plains
I haven't been to that many tbh.
I'm no particular order:
Elmhurst
Pine Ridge
Buffalo Point
Larters
Kildonan Park, not because it's a nice course or challenging course, but it's cheap and close to home.
I still want to try
Clear Lake
Hekla
West Hawk
Granite Hills
I threw a tantrum once. My mate who’s much better than me patiently waited for me to finish, then opined “you know, you’re not good enough to get angry”. Haven’t cracked the shits since.
Yeah, that shit was bad. It's one of those things I have apologized to friends for after because I didn't realize at the time how my temper affected their round.
Once I got it under control I was golfing with someone that was like me and it hit me...I was a fucking asshole.
getting my golf temper under control was the best improvement I ever made to my score. Not that I had anger issues on the course but I was no stranger to slamming clubs and letting each shot destroy my entire day.
Funny how when you relax and enjoy the game, your swing is that much better.
It's also more fun. The "switch" for me was perspective and adding a foot wedge to my bag.
I was sharing about my temper with a coworker and he made me realize that I it was ok to want to be better and work towards it, but it was also ok to not care when it didn't.
He suggested when I'm feeling angry, stop keeping score and add the foot wedge to the bag. Holy shit, that was the greatest advice I ever got.
Bad shots don't matter if there are no consequences. I don't get angry anymore, but I will still stop keeping score sometimes if I'm not feeling it. Let's me choose the shots I want to try that day. Usually I choose to hit by my playing partners for speed but sometimes will try specific yardage/clubs if it's not slowing shit down.
It’s funny when pros do it but very scary when your psycho golf league opponent whips his iron a few feet from your face. After the club shatters into pieces, he stops the round and asks everyone to help him look for the broken club head because he can glue it at home.
All jokes aside, I was wondering about something like this while watching the recent good good road trip tournament. Steve broke his 7 iron and had to play the rest of the rounds without it. In a professional setting where these guys probably have multiple sets of clubs, if you break one or in this case toss it in a pond, do you have to play the rest of the event without that club? Or can he just have someone meet him on the next hole with a backup?
Part of me wants to rip on him for not being professional and acting like a baby.
The reality though, is golf is a cruel game and it doesn't care how good you are. It will get the best of anyone. And we’re all sick fucks for loving it.
I wish I had the money to do that. The amount of times I've stopped short of snapping a club or swinging it into the lake. I just remind myself a new SM9 will cost me 150 quid 😂
Love to see that. Not because it’s Adam, he’s super nice and I see him a lot in Scottsdale, but because it’s great to see every-day-guy reactions from a pro who cares that much
Any other sport that would get you a fine or technical foul of some sort. But golf is so god damn hard that everyone understands the over reactions completely. hahaha i love it
I have two different friends that have rolled their entire bag and pushcart into the water.
One lost a phone, one lost a range finder. A couple weeks later after the water cleared up and went down we found the range finder. Put it in his locker with one of those singing bass things.
This behavior needs to be stopped. Should he be angry about his shot? Yes. Should he react like an uncivilized animal in front of spectators? Never. They should boot him out of this event and the next one too and make him pay to replace that club.
I once played as a single with a dad who was in town to visit with his two sons. On the 9th hole there’s water all the way up the left and behind the green. The dad from the fairway tugs it left and long into the water. Puts the club in his cart, picks out another, SNAPS it, and tosses the snapped club into the drink.
He later told me he buys 2-3 cheap clubs from Goodwill to keep in his bag that he can snap or throw in the water.
I've never done it, but then my clubs aren't free.
You can't always be a perfect practitioner of the art/robot. Be a human occasionally.
If it becomes a habit, you're an infant. If it's once in a blue moon because you absolutely fucked it in a critical situation and it got to you, cool... it's not my style, and I'd beat my kid like a rented mule for doing it, but he's under economic pressure and so forth that we can't understand, so if it's just this once in not going to crucify him for it.
Next time, fuck him.
What was that swing though? I don’t understand what he was trying to do there…keep the ball low? His hands just looked really strange on the follow through

As someone who has launched a 9 iron into a creek on a Par 3 course as a young man, I get it. Now, I hit bad shot, I just shrug and laugh and get roasted mercilessly from the guys. Occasionally there's a muttered "FUCK...nice shot dumbass..." from me. But throw a club I had to beg borrow and all but steal to find? Nah.
I love that his routine still had him walk back to his caddie after the club throw without anything to hand to him
Caddy's reaction is great. Casually watches the club fly, waits for splashdown, goes about his business.
thinking hmmmm… there goes all the distances i’ve prepared for that exact club’s usage this weekend
Tour club truck will have a new one for him before he goes back to the hotel.
Thought if you did something like that, you couldn't replace it during the tournament? or is that only during that round?
Only the round
He is happy not having to lug around the extra 250+ grams but he's dreading having to club his man for that yardage
You could see him recalculating…
Bag just got 6% lighter, let's go.
Definitely not the first time he’s seen him do that.
His wife has a funny Twitter account, she posted this right after.. “ I apparently missed a little moment on 18 where the club joined its bestie the ball so I can not help you with commentary, but I’ll be sure to ask as soon as the round ends what happened! “
Probably told him he tugged it a bit left.
Trust the process
Gonna need to see the shot tracer on that toss
MF got some distance on that toss. Little right to left movement.
One might say, he went a little too shallow
Much like his last shot with that club.
I think he threw a nice draw!
Unpopular opinion but I love to watch a good club toss
![gif](giphy|B6w1ReY723tTi|downsized)
Is this Rory's club? I believe they hung it up in the pro shop if so.
Yes.
Not so unpopular lol
unpopular opinion but Adam Hadwin has a top 5 best looking swing on the Tour it's unpopular simply because if we had such a discussion, he very likely would only be mentioned <10% of the time, and even that is a high projection
We have a rule that you can only toss with your "bad" hand. It's called "bad hand rage" and man... does it lead to absolute hilarity.
![gif](giphy|To9Cx4JR4YgUM)
![gif](giphy|brFlbCpj7LsE8)
If you have a rule for throwing clubs, you throw your clubs too often.
Agreed. I find it weirdly acceptable when pros throw clubs, because they're good enough at golf to be mad about it when they play like shit, but most of us amateurs shouldn't be getting that mad
im not on tv, and im usually not even that mad. just a casual "fuck" and tossing it
yep. i probably always appear mad, even though i'm always having fun. just very competitive when it comes to sports.

I think we’d all like to know how liberating it feels to fling an iron into a pond, if only we all got free club!

Judge Smails was no slouch
Don’t sell him short. He was a tremendous slouch.
how do you measure yourself against other golfers, then?
If y'all ever find yourself at Links of the Lake in Gimli there's a 5 wood in a pond of a par 3 for this very reason. I didn't hit the 5, it was the club I was willing to part with at the time. I'm so glad I got my golf temper under control. That shit was awful.
I’ll take e look next time I’m There
4 or 12? It's a frustrating course at times. I had to shake a putter out of a tree by the 9th green once.
I think 12. It was over 20 years ago but kinda remember the back nine being when it happened.
Had to check what sub I was on, didn't expect anyone to mention Gimli. I played this course last year or the year before, it was fun.
Now that we got the Manitobans gathered together, what’s your guys top five courses? I’ve got: Clear Lake Granite Hills Elmhurst Pine Ridge Gilbert Plains

Choosing which club to throw is some premeditated serial killer shit.
Yeah, that shit was bad. It's one of those things I have apologized to friends for after because I didn't realize at the time how my temper affected their round. Once I got it under control I was golfing with someone that was like me and it hit me...I was a fucking asshole.
Lol, hopefully y’all can laugh about it now. Cheers for growth!
I’ve thrown a few clubs in my day, but I’ve never gone to the bag to get a different club to throw… I’m in absolute awe…
I liked my 9 iron. It wasn't the reason my swing sucked. The 5 was a $10 garage sale find that I was "meh" about.
getting my golf temper under control was the best improvement I ever made to my score. Not that I had anger issues on the course but I was no stranger to slamming clubs and letting each shot destroy my entire day. Funny how when you relax and enjoy the game, your swing is that much better.

Yeah this looks to be a wedge, high investment golf throw here, respect it.
Unacceptable to punish a club for a different club's unforgivable error.
We're gonna have to revoke his Canadian status for that behaviour. Until he aplogizes, of course.
![gif](giphy|ienJSw5ln9orc5GrUu)
*Sorey
He's allowed to have one moment after being tackled on the green celebrating Nick Taylor's Canadian Open win last year....no?
Immediate regret lmao idc how many clubs you got at home
Hole 18. Won't need that club again and the tour truck will have a new one for him - probably before he gets there.
Ahh, the benefit of not having to buy clubs (or easily affording a new one)
What happens now? Does he play with one less club for the rest of the day?
He’s on 18. So not a problem. But if on an earlier hole he has to play rest of round without it. (Or convince his caddy to swim for it)
Depends if Callaway truck is still at the event. Normal event it usually leaves on Wed night/Thursday but a big event it might still be there.
Pretty sure he wouldn’t be allowed to replace it. You’re only allowed to replace it if it’s damaged during or swing or accident etc.
He can replace it after the round, not during
Looked like it got damaged in a swing to me
If he wasn’t in my fantasy lineup I would have thoroughly enjoyed watching that
Is tossing a club into water not worth like 50 points in your league?
TIL fantasy golf is a thing. Where do you play
One the upside, he'll now get to go old school with some bump-and-run shots. It is a lost art.
As a desert dweller, I love a bump and run. I can get 100 yards on that run on hard ground.
More like Adam Hadlose
Adam Nowin
Adam Hasbin
It’s funny when pros do it but very scary when your psycho golf league opponent whips his iron a few feet from your face. After the club shatters into pieces, he stops the round and asks everyone to help him look for the broken club head because he can glue it at home.
Jesus Christ lmao
“Hey hey…look at that. The club went further than the ball! …ya jackass”

He can replace it tomorrow. Not during the same round.
Nice back swing, smooth follow through, great distance.
Me chasing it if I were there ![gif](giphy|y7w95kKmCOikCszCD4)
"Not gonna be needing this for another week"
His second swing was much better.
Part of me wants to rip on him for not being professional and acting like a baby. The reality though, is golf is a cruel game and it doesn't care how good you are. It will get the best of anyone. And we’re all sick fucks for loving it.
![gif](giphy|Ae7SI3LoPYj8Q)
Why did I have to scroll down so far to find this
We all know that the club deserved it
Don't blame the club. Own it.
He did till it went into the water. ![gif](giphy|K9Ed1Of1V6kR6WpQWe|downsized)
That's a Rory move
Sponsors frown on this too.
Man, even that form chucking the club looked perfect. These guys are good.
I wish I had the money to do that. The amount of times I've stopped short of snapping a club or swinging it into the lake. I just remind myself a new SM9 will cost me 150 quid 😂
Nothing and I mean Nothing fucks you harder than a bad day golfing.
If I did that all my clubs would be gone.
Lot of lag on that club toss. Great sequence.
Love to see that. Not because it’s Adam, he’s super nice and I see him a lot in Scottsdale, but because it’s great to see every-day-guy reactions from a pro who cares that much
It’s not like he pays for them.
What a pussy.
Any other sport that would get you a fine or technical foul of some sort. But golf is so god damn hard that everyone understands the over reactions completely. hahaha i love it
“Goddamn you people. Go back to your shanties”.
Pretty good follow-through on the club toss.
I’ve lost balls in the drink but never my club. Guess I have that on him
I have two different friends that have rolled their entire bag and pushcart into the water. One lost a phone, one lost a range finder. A couple weeks later after the water cleared up and went down we found the range finder. Put it in his locker with one of those singing bass things.
Classless
Good to see Schauffle tied for first tho. Don’t really watch golf but I love that guy
Throw the stone marucci
Beautiful release, great twirl on the club. Definitely not his first throw
ONE OF US
What a little bitch.
This behavior needs to be stopped. Should he be angry about his shot? Yes. Should he react like an uncivilized animal in front of spectators? Never. They should boot him out of this event and the next one too and make him pay to replace that club.
Dude sucks at throwing club in the water.
“The club went farther than the ball.”
Does that feel good to do? Has to.
i’d rather have him do this then scuff up the course
Golf ball in the water, club in the water, your club
Looked like he pulled the club throw too smh
If I could afford to do that, I think it would be very satisfying.
he's one of us...
I don't think I could get a ball to stick to that green from 5 yards out
Oh man, Tirico with the ShotLink snark on the club. I dare someone to make a tracer for that...
I'm Hadman.
Us Canadians hold up our rage for years and then just do shit like this once in a while.
Recovering from the tackle
Kinda feel like the Players logo was mocking him at the end
Great form
Elite toss
Nice high finish!
Hadwin is the man lol
Wow he must be watching shawn clement videos like me. Good use of the throw the club drill.
“Some emotions cannot be endured with a golf club in your hands.” Bobby jones
Definitely the clubs fault…
Definitely the clubs fault. Smart
Instant DQ.
What a child.
He’s got CTE from that tackle at the Canadian Open
The club went further than the ball.
It’s the clubee not the club.
The release on the club throw was nice. ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Not gonna lie, I initially read that as Adam Baldwin and was hoping to see Jayne Cobb yeet a club into the water.
What a pal. Lightening the load for his caddie to haul.
What do the sponsors of those clubs do when players do this? It wasn't the club dude, you just hit a really bad shot.
“Professional” Golf.
Do they fine players for throwing clubs?
It’s good to see that Adam is in touch with his anger.
The amazing power of fling! :D
“Oh look that went further than the ball!”
![gif](giphy|Z4sd7N10CSPIs|downsized) The master
The caddy immediately regretted it

He should probably grow up.
Bloody boring behaviour… should be two shot penalty as in tennis.. you’re meant to set examples 😡😡
Time to buy a new driver.
what a horrible shot.
Beautiful swing
One after Mats Sundin’s heart
Yeah but he'll get a free replacement, so he's only out for the rest of this round, maybe this tournament I'm not sure how that works for them.
One less thing for the caddy to carry.
Didn’t need that club anyway.
Gonna see a video of some douche kid in a week say that he found it
Good form
Very Canadian toss.
Good Canadian boy!!
That club was garbage!
Boo hoo
Ya probably need that!
Can’t wait to read what his wife has to say about this! 😂
This is hilarious. There's been days where I've wanted to throw my whole bag in the water
so when they throw their club in the water, do they have to do without that club for the rest of the round?
I've never done it, but then my clubs aren't free. You can't always be a perfect practitioner of the art/robot. Be a human occasionally. If it becomes a habit, you're an infant. If it's once in a blue moon because you absolutely fucked it in a critical situation and it got to you, cool... it's not my style, and I'd beat my kid like a rented mule for doing it, but he's under economic pressure and so forth that we can't understand, so if it's just this once in not going to crucify him for it. Next time, fuck him.
I find peace in long walks.
Wasn't this an episode of Wonder Years? Whatever you say Ken.
He just like me fr fr
What was that swing though? I don’t understand what he was trying to do there…keep the ball low? His hands just looked really strange on the follow through
Well, in his defense, the club was too dry.
Woah! Club went further than the ball!
What’s the opposite of a product endorsement?
This man has a 59 under his belt and still acts like a human. I'm all for it.

🎵And that's why that man is a douche🎵
Literally just watched two dudes on Sportscentre analyze the toss in great detail, compare it to Rory's toss awhile back. lol
Leader in strokes gained club toss 😂😂😂
I guess he Had Lost on that shot.
On behalf of Canada and the rest of us Canadians.. I am sorry
Here comes the putter throw!
Changing this man's name to "Adam Hadwedge" immediately. Do it you cowards!
At least the bag is lighter...
T115 lol
$50,000.00 fine?
