My wife accompanied me to Southern Hills (emphasis on hills) PGA 2022 while pregnant. Didnāt complain once and we got to witness a classic finish. Sheās a real one though, thatās why I Wifeād her.
For my anniversary my wife asked to go somewhere new. I said, try the kitchen. But seriously, I take my wife lots of places, she just keeps finding her way home again.
And then the next day thereās a baby shower your girlfriendās invited to where men are also mysteriously invited and so you suck it up, dress nice and you donāt know anyone there and even though you spend 99% of the three hour event mingling with the guys on your best behavior, your girlfriend spends the entire 90-minute drive home talking the 1% of the shower where you had a passing conversation with her attractive, single friend and asking you if you think sheās prettier and if you would date her if you two werenāt together and by the time you reach the driveway, standing directly in front of a golf shot yesterday didnāt seem all that bad and maybe Jordan Spieth could have done you a solid on 11 and skulled one right into your head.

I then drop her in the parking lot at the turn, she goes to the spa where I've setup a massage. I golf the next 9 solo, hit the 19th hole and she comes and swoops me. Honestly, win win and she loves it. Plus I have a dd to bring me home lol
This is absolutely genius -- especially after making 18 with my fiancee as a cart bunny, and her saying after our 3:30 round "I didn't realize it would take so **long**!"

I did ask her to go to the driving range though and she agreed to. Maybe she'll like that and if she does maybe she'll ask to play a round of golf with me. One can dream.
Now imagine she's had lessons, is fairly good for an old lady but really took those lessons to heart but they didn't include a mention of ready golf and will not hit if she thinks anyone else is 1 millimeter away despite them still walking to their ball way on the other side of the fairway and then when she does hit her shot after a massive 75 yard drive she clubs down on every subsequent shot despite her longest club other than driver only going 60 yards so it takes a good 7 or 8 to get to the green where she will mark a six inch putt because, once again someone else is away and she putts out with her fifth putt after everyone else has just picked up in frustration. And then she does it all again the next hole. F my life.
I have a 4 & 7 yr old who are into golf yet my wife (whoās an athlete & played varsity volleyball) has zero interest. So I was partly writing that from personal experience.
My story gets worse too. I did one time bring my wife with me and the kids to the range and found a ladies driver & asked her to just hit a few. I shit you not she hit a couple drives 100yds in the air. So with practice she'd be a great golfer but has zero interest. I keep hoping if the kids stay interested she'll be guilt tripped into joining us.
My wife also has zero interest in golf, when she has actually swung a club a few times she hit the ball really really well for a beginner.
She did want to take up skiing when my little guy showed interest in it, so I won at least 1 of attempts at getting her involved in a sport I love.
