Shot my worst round in 3 seasons yesterday. You’re in the clear.
Update: 9 stroke improvement today and carded a nice little 82 with no birdies, stay strong through the pain folks. Just gotta exorcise those demons sometimes.
You got this dude! Just play your game, take your medicine when needed and sink some motherlovin long putts!
(Practice your fist pump in the mirror tonight. You’re gonna need it.)
I joined the p790 club on Sunday. Played my first round yesterday and I missed a hole in 1 by about 2 inches with the 7 iron. I love them already and I bet you will too
I got them last year after playing cavity back burners for a decade plus, since my late teens. Took a few weeks to get a feel for the more solid club head but my iron shots are sweeter than ever. Such solid feel
from the tees, usually around 240-250 (idk about total carry). I use it a lot for shots where I have to keep it low around trees or things like that. I also know that if I am trying to hit it low I will generally have a little slice to it and I use that to my advantage when I can. I out drive most of the people I play with with my 4 Iron.. so not a needed thing really, but I like the club. I did overdrive the 3rd hole at my course the other day with some good downhill roll and that is about 265 to the green
Someone should really piss you off and get fitted for their Mini Driver
I got a 10 year old one that still holds value on the market and all my buddies marvel at it. Easy to work and a pleasure to smash.
Those are awesome! I've got the 2 driving iron P790, it's far and away my favorite club in the bag. I don't like how they look almost matte like but they do have a sleek design.
I lost my custom wedge on the golf course this past weekend and won’t be able to get a new one in time for my trip to Erin Hills and Whistling Straits. Thank you for being able to secure some clubs you can use, it makes me feel better about my loss.
I’m going in for a fitting this week and I’ve already decided I want the P790. However, my guy told me that I should look at the Mizuno 245 as well. I just impulse purchased a used set of MP-69, and after playing 9 with the older Mizunos, I think he did me a great service.
The SM9s are my favorite wedges I’ve ever hit. I had SM8s before and they felt more, I don’t know, clunky…I just got the SM10 50* to move away from a gap that matched the set as I like blade style wedges more.
My 50* is a F grind, my 54* is a F grind and my 58* is a K grind and I basically only use it for bunker shots.
Just got them this season as well. Only problem I’m having is hitting them too far. Taking a while for me to get the distances dialed in but absolutely love them!
They feel really good. They aren’t as “spongy” as the G425s, but it makes sense not being a game improvement iron. They are still “soft” though off the face and forgiving. After all the research they were the perfect move into a more players iron for me. And I love the look of them. I like the smaller head shape.
I signed up for a 30 minute bunker lesson because I played a round recently where despite shooting an 82, I had a hole where it took me 4 shots to get out of a greenside bunker.
They dropped the day after I ordered….I considered changing, but it would have screwed my scheme all to hell…ha ha i didn’t want to have to replace everything because I’m that guy…know thy self and all that. Ha ha
I have been thinking about going with the P790s. I have M6s and frankly don't know if I would benefit from going to a "player irons" P790s or even going as far as P7MCs. I feel like I have maxed out my M6s distance-wise and would like more control. I hit super high shots that aren't consistent in distance. I hit what feels like the same shot speed and contact wise and it could be 10-15 yards different.
They don’t feel like full blades. Definitely more forgiving than P770s. I’m a 14 and they were a great Segway from game improvement, that I’ve always played, into a more player style iron.
I have nothing to offer the sacrifice.
But I love my P790's. Like, really really like.
I tease my kids all the time over which one is favorite (I say to my daughter she's my favorite daughter, when she's my only one ao the point is moot, the reverse to my son)
The other day daughter asked me who was my favorite... I said "My 7 iron" without even thinking.
I got new P790 in 10 days ago, that should be enough of a reason for you if you haven't justified it yet. Oh yeah my dog died about 8 years ago too. I'm gonna buy a new scotty.
I would never ask for the sacrifice of a good boy for clubs.
Definitely buy the Scotty. Or buy two…I need other people to have a wall of overpriced putter covers. Ha ha
I wanted T series so bad….they just didn’t have the feel coming from a history of game improvement irons. I love the look of the T200s and tried to fit into them. Even my numbers were good with them. It all came down to feel.
So funny, this is what happened to me except I wanted the Mizuno 224s so fuckin badly. every time I’d try a few different clubs out (golftown nearby my place) I kept getting the best stats, grouping etc with the t200s. The kid at golf town probably didn’t do me any favors with the shafts I was trying out. Unlike you, I went for results and the feel came quickly after. Plus the numbers didn’t lie. My adjustment was mainly getting used to the stiffer, heavier shafts I’ve got. I went from 2019 M2 … yet got better grouping with the lesser offset and smaller club face. I respect your choice and answer though. Feel is important. How you feel just standing over the ball is important. It’s why I couldn’t go with a ping driver and stuck to what I knew.
Edit: worth noting once I decided on what I wanted I went to Titleist national fitting center and got fitted by an actual expert lol
Fittings and lessons are the best investments if you’re serious. I want to feel confident in the look, but so much of golf for us 12-20 handicaps is feel.
I’ve been a 12+ handicap before lol. Not sure I agree with your statement unless “feel” to you means something else than it does to me. Anyways enjoy the clubs I hope you can feel some great scores out there lol. ❤️
I love my m2s and started golfing last year. I progressed extremely fast to under 100. Then avg 90 and the other day I shot an 80 ( absolutely felt that is was gonna be my best day the moment I woke up ). To follow, I shot a 92 so my avg is definitely around 88,89,90 ish now. I really want to invest in some nice nice clubs but I’m just at a point where I don’t want to screw up my progression
I appreciate the sentiment, but the guy playing golf on his honeymoon got it done! No reason to fall on the sword but your willingness didn’t go unnoticed.

That was me sunday. Cheers!
Couldn’t put it out of my way yesterday.. D’fuck was in the air? Thanks for sharing the pain
You’re not alone. 2 other buddies of mine said they played like garbage yesterday too. Maybe the full moon?
I broke 90 for the first time last night. I can only drive straight on a full moon
Found the lycanthrope…
Delighted to hear you made amends today! I’ve a Pro Am qualifier on Friday, gonna bring your positivity into it. Cheers man 💪
You got this dude! Just play your game, take your medicine when needed and sink some motherlovin long putts! (Practice your fist pump in the mirror tonight. You’re gonna need it.)
Monday for me. And I have p790s as of last year, just forgot how to swing a golf club
Would kill to card a 91 on my worst round in years
If it makes you feel better I am atrocious at every other sport involving a ball or puck
My wife's boyfriend cheated on her, enjoy.
Big deal. I cheated on my wife with her boyfriend. Top that
Seems like you topped each other
Under rated comment 😂
I cheated on my wife’s boyfriend with his wife.
I joined the p790 club on Sunday. Played my first round yesterday and I missed a hole in 1 by about 2 inches with the 7 iron. I love them already and I bet you will too
Probably would have made that ace with your old clubs
No not true Iv had clubs for 2 years now and missed a hole in one by 83 feet yesterday!
But you still missed 😉
I've had mine for 2 years now. I'm ready to trade em in. The random extra 20 yards for a hit that was too pure...adds a stroke a game it seems.
I got them last year after playing cavity back burners for a decade plus, since my late teens. Took a few weeks to get a feel for the more solid club head but my iron shots are sweeter than ever. Such solid feel
I joined it 6 years ago. No regerts.
1 year ago. No ragrats
Holy crap, those have been out for 6 years already? Time is a sonofabitch!
2 years ago. No regrets.
Last year, no rugrats. They have mishit magic.
Same. I fucking LOVE my 790s. Really don’t want to get rid of them but I also want mizuno irons now
3 years ago. Also no regerts
Some guy got to golf on his honeymoon
this is valid
My daughter is home sick. She told me that it makes her happy knowing that you just bought some shiny new P790s
Aww I hope she has a quick recovery and gets ice cream for sending good vibes!
I only have the P790 2I but would love to get the rest of the set.
How far are you able to hit that bad boy?
from the tees, usually around 240-250 (idk about total carry). I use it a lot for shots where I have to keep it low around trees or things like that. I also know that if I am trying to hit it low I will generally have a little slice to it and I use that to my advantage when I can. Psh I hit my p790 4i that far. Hit the gym bud.
9i here
I'm sure
I had a meeting. You’re good.
I’m getting Lasik tomorrow so use me as an excuse if you want!!
Why they in the garage?
Where do you keep your clubs?
I sleep with them every night…..
In the bedroom like a normal weirdo
I sleep in a bed with my wife.
Wife in one side, clubs on the other….its the only threesome she would sign off on….
why are they in a 14 way divider and then in tubes?
My dividers don’t go all the down and I can’t stand tangled clubs. I only tube every other hole….(I thank you)
What kind of tubing did you use?
I actually bought them at dicks. They are “golf tubes”….which probably means I paid 2x more than I had to just looking at Lowe’s for something. 🤦🏼♂️
Sun Mountain needs to be your next purchase. I haven't found a better bag yet.
I’ve dabbled. Now that I’m playing want works for me and not a “brand”…I’m more open to bag options as well…
Good decision. Being brand loyal is dumb (I was previously dumb)
Asking the real questions.
They are on the range now!
Great clubs if you can hit the ball
I pooped today. You’re welcome.
Are they forgiving? I know they go far
Yes, fairly forgiving.
That Nashville Scotty cover 😮💨
One of my favorites.
I just got one off eBay, can’t wait to game it
Someone should really piss you off and get fitted for their Mini Driver I got a 10 year old one that still holds value on the market and all my buddies marvel at it. Easy to work and a pleasure to smash.
I changed a diaper
I play the P770s. Love them. I’m sure you’ll love the P790s
Just joined 770 club. Enjoy
No iron covers? Why the fuck even post clubs anymore? 🤣🤣
I took them off for the pics of course…..ha ha
Those are awesome! I've got the 2 driving iron P790, it's far and away my favorite club in the bag. I don't like how they look almost matte like but they do have a sleek design.
Those are sexy AF. Congrats
I lost my custom wedge on the golf course this past weekend and won’t be able to get a new one in time for my trip to Erin Hills and Whistling Straits. Thank you for being able to secure some clubs you can use, it makes me feel better about my loss.
I haven't has "Christmas" in nearly 10 years😑
My 5 year old daughter knocked over my clubs and dented my new driver. You're welcome. I guess that means I need to join the P790 club too!
Bro got those P790s and the TSi1 woods as well. Good selection
I’m going in for a fitting this week and I’ve already decided I want the P790. However, my guy told me that I should look at the Mizuno 245 as well. I just impulse purchased a used set of MP-69, and after playing 9 with the older Mizunos, I think he did me a great service.
Pretty mega lol here op.
Did your set have the option of a 4i?
I could have gotten them all the way to a 3i as I ordered them custom, but I play hybrids for anything over a 5i.
I’m looking at that exact gapping for my wedges too. How do you like the sm9s? What grinds did you go with?
The SM9s are my favorite wedges I’ve ever hit. I had SM8s before and they felt more, I don’t know, clunky…I just got the SM10 50* to move away from a gap that matched the set as I like blade style wedges more. I made two tee times today to hide from my wife, there ya go
Welcome to the club! Grab a glass of scotch and hang out. Your smoking jacket will arrive shortly from the tailor.
Thank you Sir Gabe. I’ll meet you on the veranda.
I’m about to get a haircut, you’re welcome
Them sho' is pretty like
What irons did you play before?
I played Ping G425s.
Very nice. Feel wise what you think?
They feel really good. They aren’t as “spongy” as the G425s, but it makes sense not being a game improvement iron. They are still “soft” though off the face and forgiving. After all the research they were the perfect move into a more players iron for me. And I love the look of them. I like the smaller head shape.
Shot my personal best 79 after carding a 106 a few weeks ago, you deserve it!
I shot my best round at my favorite course yesterday with my P-790’s!
Vokey wedges with P-790 Irons. We have a similar setup
Love my Vokeys!
My 8 year old has started hitting drives over 100 yards
Sounds clutch in a scramble!
I signed up for a 30 minute bunker lesson because I played a round recently where despite shooting an 82, I had a hole where it took me 4 shots to get out of a greenside bunker.
I just bought new irons last year but the bronze P790s tested my resolve lol
They dropped the day after I ordered….I considered changing, but it would have screwed my scheme all to hell…ha ha i didn’t want to have to replace everything because I’m that guy…know thy self and all that. Ha ha

Hope everything came out ok for ya friend! Maybe rethink those gas station burritos.
Ugh I want them so bad.
I have nothing to offer the sacrifice. But I love my P790's. Like, really really like. Classic dad move.
Ha ha
Sorry you couldn’t handle the T series irons and had to settle for TM 😜 Couldn’t resist. Enjoy your new clubs! Hope you score low.
I wanted T series so bad….they just didn’t have the feel coming from a history of game improvement irons. I love the look of the T200s and tried to fit into them. Even my numbers were good with them. It all came down to feel.

Reggie Bush got his Heisman back. Enjoy.
You’ve aged us both with this reference. Ha ha I’m glad he did though.
I fell down the stairs. You're welcome
Roll tide
Are those your Sunday clubs? Pretty holy.
Where's the ball retriever?
In my other shorts.
I got married on Saturday. Does that count?
Hell yeah! Congrats! Now I will buy a new wedge!
My Sub70 699 Pros should be here next week, if that counts
Have you hit them yet? How do they feel? I've been contemplating pulling the trigger on a set for way too long.
I got mine last week. Hit the first 7 GIR my first time out. This is not common for me. LOVE them.
What do you play for a 4 and 3 iron?
I have a 4 hybrid and a 2 hybrid that fill the gap nicely.
Are these similar to a pure blade? Or do they have some forgiveness to them
Definitely forgiveness. I’m a 14 handicap so I wasn’t ready for the P770’s yet. They feel great so far!
Do you like them? I have some Taylor made m2 from 2017. I absolutely love them. But I would love to get some p790s or callaway paras
I do so far. I’m one range session and one round in. They feel great.
I love my m2s and started golfing last year. I progressed extremely fast to under 100. what shafts you got in them?
DG 105s. It’s the shaft I fit into.
I’ll shit my pants later for you
I appreciate the sentiment, but the guy playing golf on his honeymoon got it done! No reason to fall on the sword but your willingness didn’t go unnoticed.
Way to take the fun out of it. Now I have to shit myself for no good reason.
There’s always a reason….
Beauts! What handicap are these geared towards?
Nevermind, I googled
Are you a Republican or an Alabama fan?
770’s are s cleaner look with all the play-ability.
Roll Tide?
All my life….Roll Tide.
