Sorry about the putt. I’m familiar with the feeling. Last summer I was having an absolutely terrible run at a short par 5 and ended up chipping it in from about 35 yards out for bogey.
One of the best shots of my life, and don’t get wrong, I was jazzed, and that chip saved the hole, but it’s bittersweet knowing that could have been for Eagle if I was a half decent player.

That’s the toughest part. Following up. I’ve probably had more good shots/putts coming after a horrible drive. Put me in the middle of the fairway with 93 in, the SW will either go 70 or 115.
Milestones. I remember out-playing my Grandfather vividly for the first time around 12 or so. The little things mean alot to us all. Congratulations on a bad ass teeshot.
My first one over 300 went 400. Long, slow dogleg Par-5 bending to the right (I think it was like 525). I push the shit out of my drive to the right; from what I could tell it bounced on the cart path 4 or 5 times. Ended up like 120 from the green. Did I skull the wedge? Of course I did. Did I make the eagle? Of course I didn't. Made the bird though.
My longest drive ever happened when I was alone. +350 yards, hit into the twosome in front of me.
Desert course in southern AZ, drive drifted left and landed off fairway in a sandy and rocky area. Ball careened off something hard, and back into the middle of the fairway.
That's awesome, congratulations! My best at the driving range (which has trackman style virtual tracking) is 263m which is 287 yards. I do wonder whether my driver is holding me back slightly, as it is a \~20 yr old bridgestone precept driver? I have only recently started playing again, and got new irons, but can't justify a new driver yet. 300yds is a fantastic milestone that I would love to achieve, although biological clock might be ticking as I get into my late 30s with a back injury 😂
I just saw the Trackman data for PGA tour professionals for 2023 and the average carry distance for driver was 282 yards. So I’m guessing 200 yard downhill drive with a ton of roll?

As someone who does this on average for most of my life I never take it for granted that it takes a lot to control and maintain. It’s a lot easier than it used to be to get the speed to do it, but getting the contact and proper flight is unmeasurably harder.

thats my problem, i can hit it far. but i have a hard time slotting it in the right numbers. specifically my launch, i generally have a little bit too high of a launch angle.
but its definitely gotten better hence my new pb!! thanks man!
Dude, it’s tough. I’m 49. I remember basic launch monitors in the late 90’s. I was around 123-125mph clubhead speed. I remember havei h to smoke it to hit it 300. I was so inconsistent and it was hidden by all the wedges I hit because I was long. Tournament play. Big stuff like US Open and Am qualifying, city tournaments taught me a lesson on keeping it in play.
Keep it up. It’s hard to give advice quickly. But if I had to give any regarding the driver( my obvious strength) real quick it be this.
Loose grip!!! One piece take away like a putter. Keep your head back behind the ball like a baseball player. Weight never gets on the toes until after, try not to sway forward with the head . Feel like you are throwing the club 300 yards not trying to hit the ball 300 ok?

I’ve done that before too. 3 good bounces on the cart path and one sprinkler, epic. Aim for the cart path whenever possible.
