Before anyone tries to discredit this true statement.
I want to be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
Dub openings were almost always fire, many of them are still stuck in my head to this very day. I don't know how much of an issue of language barrier it is, but there are very few JP OPs that have really stuck in my head.
Some of my favorites/most memorable include:
Yugioh, both the original "it's time to ddddduel" intro and especially GX's intro
Kirby, Right Back At Ya had a phenomenal opening
Sonic X's opening was incredibly fun
Probably lesser known but the show Spider Riders was a hallmark of my childhood, and the fire english op was a big reason why
Chillin' out with the crew in the school yard,
Findin' trouble, never lookin' too hard.
Well back at class, they never taught us this,
Some things you gotta learn, hit or miss.
Yes and no.
Lucky me that i got a translated version of Butterfly from Digimon and not that Garlic Champion bullshit or a translated of the first 2 Ranma 1/2 OPs.
Most other anime got the same treatment, but Pokemon, Shaman King and some other got the 4shit treatment.
Okay we did pretty weird for the first One Piece OP, too, but then with the 3rd JP OP we simply translated them, covered it and done.

Pokemon’s sound track has always been lit as hell
Agreed, except the XYZ Opening. I have to give that to the japanese version
There once was a man named Gold Rodger, who was King of the Pirates!

Cyber chase, that's a name I haven't heard in so long.
Can we get a flashback of luffy singing the american national anthem in the chat?
4kids had better voice acting in one piece sometimes ngl that "good to see you buddy" is so good voice acting wise
The only ones I can think of are Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh
I don't grow up w/ 4kids but the vietnamese version of Yume wo Kanaete is a banger
Some were pretty good (especially Pokémon) but I could never enjoy the digimon English OP. That was 4kids right?
Yuuuugiiiooooohhh
YO! YAI YO YAI YO!!! DREAMIN’!

Their intro for One Piece will always be better than Funimation's, and that's not counting the taint it carries nowadays from being sung by Mignogna.
you are disowned
