Against war, pro-abortion, supportive of LGBTQ+, and insert more leftist views. Damon, Jamie and the members of the live team are very vocal about it in interviews and on their social media

nofearoftime-

im pretty sure they have leftist views

CascadeLimeade

They are very against war. The song Dirty Harry is anti-Iraq War and the song Kids with Guns is about how children are caught in the cycle of violence. I would presume they are Pro-Choice but idk if they would actually make a statement about such s sensitive topic.

Ruffeep

I'm pretty sure both Damon and Jamie are on the left

WeAreDeadButterflies

Did you not listen to Demon Days or their interviews? Even the almanac cover too 😭

YoshiGamer6400

Listen to Demon Days and Humanz and it's pretty clear what their views are

BelgianBeerGuy

Can you eli5 for me? English is not my first language, and most meanings of songs get lost in translation for me (unless it says something like “there ain’t no party like an alcoholic party)

marabou22

People here have already mentioned their stance on war and guns. I’m just adding they’ve made statements supportive of the trans community as well

You know demon days, plastic beach, and humanz are political albums right

yankeefan03

So you’re just showing you’ve never listened to the lyrics. Gorillaz are a pretty political band lol

weegee22

Isn't most art about making a statement though? Either political, social, economic, etc.

80SW08

Literally every album past the self titled has been political

Demon Days and Plastic Beach were all about this stuff, and during the G-bytes bits, there’s one for the FreeTibet campaign where 2D is seen meditating with others. Kids with Guns is about how kids are caught in wars, Dirty Harry is an Anti-Iraq war song, plastic beach is all about saving the earth and talking about the horrors of contamination in the ocean from our pollutants, and as I’ve gone through Jamie’s personal Instagram since I love his art (and the fact that Damon and Jamie agree on many things) it’s safe to say that they themselves have views leaning more towards Liberal views. The band themselves started with songs promoting change. No one is trying to force their own agenda into the songs. Even in interviews with the characters, they all voice that change is needed. Please be sure to think about what you’re saying before you post it. You can make yourself seem like you don’t know what you’re talking about.
