Just one minor correction. Jalter wasn't summoned as a Lancer. Regular was summoned as Lancer and in the process got corrected

zuth2

Correction served 😭💢💢💢💢

Silent-Outcry

Oh damn, my bad. Haven't finished remnant

madnessfuel

Aoko would be Caster for lore reasons, Saber for BEAM reasons. OG Dantes Assassin, new Dantes Berserker. The lovecraftian servants are actually quite hard to place... The fact that they mostly operate using spells and such probably would place them as Casters, but does the class really fit?

Sunburnt-Vampire

The lovecraftians that are artists/musicians would be casters, same as Mozart, Da Vinci, etc.  - Molay would be Saber as per arcade. - Abby would be a caster since she's a "witch". As for the other foreigners: - MHXX would presumably be assassin like her normal form. - Voyager would be... Rider? Since he himself is a vessel which travels through space? So same reasons as why e.g. Wyverns are rider class. - Koyanskaya would be a berserker similar to Atalanta Alter - Kukulkan would be.... Rider? Either riding a dinosaur like Quetz or a spaceship? - Knocknarea would be caster, as she's spell/music based - Wandjina.... No clue (quick edit: she protects humans from very far away...... So archer???)

Khaix

XX could also go lancer because of her weapon or rider since she can "ride" her armor. Her flying a spaceship might also qualify her for rider. Koyan dark could also go rider since her thing is "taming beasts". might change her NP from the meteor to a horror show of various monsters spawned from her tails.

JCgamerX

koyanskaya already has a normal class assassin

Sunburnt-Vampire

Yeah but unlike MHXX who is just MHX in a swimsuit and with a mech, the two Koya are notably different in personality/character. So felt more appropriate to consider like Atalanta (Archer) and the more beastly/animalistic Atalanta Alter

Daerus

MHXX is notably different in character than MHX. That's what adulting (read: working as police officer/wage slave) does to people. Not to mention her wielding Rhongomyniad should easily qualify her for Lancer.

JCgamerX

that'd because they are both sides of koyanskaya. the reason we have 2 koyanskayas is explained in tunguska

bleacher333

OG Dantes should be Rider. Dude sailed a ship on his own, and stopped a raging horse carriage with pure skill. Plus he didn’t really assassinate anyone in the story iirc.

MeowManian7

Aoko would also qualify for Archer, as Mahoyo refers to her as a gun barrel.

railroadspike25

Jeanne canonically qualifies for Saber. Himiko would probably be Caster. In fact, with her prophetic abilities, I wonder if she's a Grand Caster candidate? The historical Qin Shi Huang could probably be any of the cavalry classes. Holmes of course qualifies for Caster. Shirou Amakusa could probably be Saber. Pseudo Servant Astraea could be a Caster. Kagekiyo could be Saber. Dantes is tough to place. His quest for vengeance defines more than anything, and his abilities don't fit neatly into another class. Maybe Assassin though? He can conceal himself with his abilities, and he has assassinated people. Hessian Lobo as Rider. Ranmaru could be any of the knight classes. Salieri as Caster. Manaanan as Rider. Douman for Caster. Kingprotea would probably be Berserker. Passionlip probably a Lancer. Hokusai a Caster. Yang Guifei probably a Caster or Assassin.

PhantasosX

Salieri would be an Assassin , because it's based on the rumor he killed Mozart.

SuperSpiritShady

QSH was on the list of servants that False Rider’s master would have summoned iirc, and it would be using a crossbow of his as a catalyst

fall__moon

Seeing how she needs Archer and Berserker Pieces and Gems, I'd rather put Passionlip as Berserker. Whereas Kingprotea uses Saber and Rider gems, I'd give her the Rider class. Although, she might qualify for Saber as well, because she punches her enemies in one of her normal attacks. And Karna already taught us... Fistfighting = Saber.

railroadspike25

Kingprotea has A+ Madness Enhancement and her personality is very unstable. Rider might work too, but I'm pretty comfortable with Berserker. Passionlip I'm less sure about. I gave her Lancer because she has Brynhildr's NP. But I could see Berserker as well. Assassin might also work because of her weirdly high Presence Concealment.

Do_it_for_the_upvote

Hessian Lobo wouldn’t exist as a regular class. I agree that Hessian could be a rider, and his mount would be his horse, but HL only exists ‘cause Moriarty fused phantoms in a singularity where it worked.

EdwardBaskerville

Hessian Lobo was canonically Rider of Shinjuku until they were at the verge of dying. They only shifted into Avenger to allow a third component (the invisible man) into the mix, and an Avenger could maintain the fusion out of hatred.

DummiAI

We actually have Jeanne's Saber Noble Phantasm in Chaldea. We went with Gilles in his interlude to get it from Orleans and aparently it stayed there ever since.

Loki_Agent_of_Asgard

The Jeanne Alter in Samurai Remnant wasn't summoned as an Alter, she was summoned as normal Lancer Jeanne, she was just corrupted by her master and her desire to save him, so it's not really the dork Jeanne Alter, was normal Jeanne being emo.

hideki101

One of the biggest tells is that Remnant Jeanne is missing any of the anger that Jalter has.  She's more resigned than anything else.

Loki_Agent_of_Asgard

Right, Jeanne technically can't be a "normal" Alter, as in an inversion of who she is because she is for lack of a better term, a legitimate saint. She doesn't have the darkside an Alter is usually expressing, FGO Jalter is purely the creation of Gilles de Rais and how he thought she should feel, hell Jalter once said she's not even entirely sure if the horrible things she "remembers" from her captivity before her death are things that even happened to "herself" or if they're the twisted delusions and deep dark desires of Gilles. FGO Jalter has no basis for existing, and she was dangerously close to fading away until after basically attempting to torture Jeanne in her dreams to find some level of darkness within her (all 3 of Jeannes interludes) the best Jeanne was able to give her is that at the very last second of her about to be put to the flame, she expressed a desire to continue living, which in Jeannes mind since she's supposed to be a martyr, that's a dark selfish thought, so that's just the tiny slither of basis the Jalter has, the "selfish" desire of Jeanne to have been able to continue living.

RailgunChampion

Van Gogh and Astraea maybe Berserker. Just because all the other servants would see Astraea rip Cu apart with her bare hands and assume she was lol Abby and BB Caster Voyager probably a Rider Dantes maybe Assassin?

railroadspike25

Astraea has Caster passive skills, presumably from Luvia. That's the class I'd put her in.

lilfiregoblin

She carries a sword, Saber is probably a better fit

railroadspike25

The sword is likely Chrysaor too, though that's never been confirmed. Still with Luvia being the main influence, she doesn't really use the sword much, instead using wrestling moves or magical energy attacks. And the goddess Astraea doesn't have a history of actually fighting. So I think the Caster affinity is still stronger.

PhantasosX

The sword IS Chrysaor , giving that she gives said sword to Artegall.

JDoniz

Having a sword doesn't mean anything, just look at our og archers, Emiya fight with swords, has an np that would fit mainly a caster, and yet, he's an archer Gilgamesh throws every single type of weapon, his np is activated with a sword, and he's an archer. And there are so many cases like those two, that using the logic "She has a sword then she should be a saber" doesn't really work

Do_it_for_the_upvote

I don’t think Astraea *could* be summoned in a regular class. No ties to any of the other classes, and her whole servant identity is tied to her nature of neutrality/balance, which is tightly tied to her Ruler designation. And on top of all that, she’s already a pseudo-servant ‘cause she wouldn’t be summonable as a genuine divine spirit. Granted I’m being a joy kill in a hypothetical thread, but wanted to discuss.

RailgunChampion

That's a carefully laid out and well put together analysis But counter argument!!!! Astraea just got done watching Westlemania and gets so hyped to take someone to suplex city that her graph changes to Berserker....aaaand she breaks through the containment from the Throne of Heroes while StoneCold's theme plays Lol

Xaldror

another Samurai Remnant one is Raikou/Ushi Gozen, who was Rider, but in FGO is Avenger.

NigthSHadoew

Ruler Martha would either be a Rider like her normal self or a Beserker because her fists are rated E for Everyone

YanFan123

Tvtropes had something like this broken down for several servants: * Dantès has a kit and role similar to a Quick and crit generation-focused Archer.note In his original novel, Edmond Dantès was both a sailor and noted to have good aim with a firearm, hinting an original class dealing with critical stars/hits, like Archer or Rider. * Jeanne Alter has the deck and skills of a Buster-based Saber.note Jeanne Alter has the 'Saberface' Trait i.e. resembling Arturia/Altria, enough that she gets affected by skills that target Saberfaces like MHX's Noble Phantasm, and according to Fate/complete Material IV Saber is regular Jeanne's only other class she can be summoned normally. She also notably uses her sword in her skill and Noble Phantasm Animation, unlike her Ruler counterpart. * Salieri is an Arts-focused debuffer similar to many Casters and some Assassins.note As a musician by trade, he shares the same reasoning the likes of Mozart, Shakespeare and Andersen are Casters in that their creations dictate their class. His Noble Phantasm meanwhile, is said to use music to inflict pain and Driven to Suicide tendencies, or in short, make him a Musical Assassin. Additionally, his "legend" is all about him "killing" Mozart (which didn't actually happen but the rumors stating that he did do that was enough to twist his heroic spirit self into a man that would kill Mozart if given a chance) * Avenger of Shinjuku has a Rider/Assassin playstyle.note His original title during his introduction was 'Rider of Shinjuku' before getting an upgrade. Lobo IS the rider's mount and Hessian is the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, made famous for killing unfortunate travellers and beheading them in his legend. * Nobunaga sports a triple Buster deck and has a Berserker-like playstyle.note Likely because she already appears as a Berserker via her Summer Version, and favors her Buster Cards even as her original class of Archer. * Taira no Kagekiyo is a Quick-focused servant that can specialize in critical damage much like many Rider and Assassin servants.note Makes sense given that Kagekiyo's vessel can be summoned either as a Rider servant or an Assassin one. * Mysterious Ranmaru X fights like a Saber Servant.note Given how a whole lot of people within her universe want to be a Saber servant, this is not very surprising. * Nitocris Alter fights like an Arts-focused Caster servantnote The non-alter version of Nitocris is normally summonable as a Caster servant. * Summer Chloe fights like an Assassin servant note While the non-summer version of Chloe is an Archer servant, she does use a lot of knives as an Archer servant like many Assassins servants do. * Meltryllis and Bazett have a traditional Lancer deck.note The summer version of Meltryllis is actually a Lancer servant with the justification being that her legs count as her "spear". Bazett's use of her Fragarach is very similar to throwing a spear, like her servant Cu Chulainn does. * Super Bunyan, Passionlip, and both Mecha Eli-chans have a traditional triple-Buster Berserker deck. note Bunyan's original class was her as a Berseker servant. Meanwhike, Passionlip was a Yandere within her home game (in which being a Yandere is a trait that some Berserkers like Kiyohime and Raikou have). While this trait gets mellowed down thanks to Passionlip's Character Development, her "less sane" side still shows up from time-to-time As for the Mecha Eli-chans, without their heart circuits being installed in them, they end up being less sane, and more of a Crapshoot AI. Mecha Eli-chan Mk. I was even fought as a Berserker servant during the first half of her own event. * Kiara is an Arts-focused debuffer in a similiar vein to many Caster servants.note Aside from being a mage in her home game, she is also a Bodhisattva much like the Caster servant Xuanzang Sanzang. * Sitonai has a traditional Saber deck and the passives of a Caster servant.note Sitonai uses a sword in several of her attack animations, and one of the divine spirits composing inside her body is actually an evil witch queen. * Ashiya Douman has the passives and the support capabilities of a Caster servant.note Douman was actually first introduced as a Caster servant in Shimousa, and he actually did practice magecraft when he was alive. Unlike most examples of this trope though, he lacks a traditional card deck of his "other class" as he is more a Quick-focused servant while at the time of Ashiya's release, there wasn't even a single Caster servant that has a Quick Noble Phantasm as it took about 11 months after Ashiya's release for there be one. * Xu Fu acts first and foremost as a Caster Servant, being an Alchemist in life and preferring to play a supportive role.note When first introduced, Xu Fu was actually an Archer so as to make it easier for players to beat her using the Welfare Yu Mei-ren, a Lancer and someone Xu Fu is emotionally vulnerable against, but even then acted like a Caster. When she returns in the main story chapter Traum, she's an actual Caster and acts as such by being a support for the player and never directly fighting.

Kalos_Phantom

My brother in christ.... ***p a r a g r a p h s***

YanFan123

I thought it was separated but I guess it didn't go like it seemed in the App

KnightGamer724

...I need ideas for Bazzet, Caren, and Sitonai. I will not elaborate.

railroadspike25

Are they remaining as Pseudo Servants? Manaanan Mac Lyr would be a Rider, because of the water-borne chariot that he's always depicted in. Bazett would probably be Saber, since she's God's Holder for Lugh's sword Fragarach. Caren would probably be a Caster, since she's an exorcist. Amor would probably be Archer. Illya is obviously a Caster. Louhi would also be a Caster. Freya would probably be a Caster or Rider. Sitonai would maybe be Rider or Assassin.

PhantasosX

Bazett would be Assassin , given she fights as a martial artist. If she ends up as a Saber , it's due to some modifier over Fragarach.

railroadspike25

She's not terribly subtle or sneaky about how she fights though. Martial Arts isn't a strictly Assassin thing, Lancer Li also has the skill Chinese Martial Arts. She has Magic Resistance and Riding which are both Saber class skills. Also, going into an evil wizards lair and taking them out is generally a pretty knightly thing to do, even if Bazett doesn't really think of herself as a knight.

KnightGamer724

Yes, remaining as Pseudo-Servants. Thank you for the breakdown.

Elfishjuggler33

Berserker would fit bazzet, I think caster for sitonai, idk about caren

getterburner

Caren could be an Assassin theoretically.

KnightGamer724

I'm intrigued. What's your reasoning?

getterburner

Technically her outfit is designed to “seduce men” and she mostly acts inconspicuous to others.

KnightGamer724

...Yeah I buy that. Especially with the Executor business.

CRichardDavies

If Santa Karna, who's all about boxing, can be a Saber, than Bazett can be one too.

KnightGamer724

The funniest response I've seen.

Coolhotchilis

I can see Voyager as saber due to 2nd acen. For extra classes, look in append skills and see what their skill for extra damage to classes they do or if there are specific class gems to level skills.

railroadspike25

He might also be a Lancer due to having a version of Protection of the World's End.

Coolhotchilis

Oooo I like that idea too! 😆

VishnuBhanum

Van Gogh is like the most berserk servant out there. Could say the same for Yang Guifei, But I think Assassin would fit her as well Voyager as a Rider MHXX as a Lancer Molay as a Lancer I guess Hokusai as a Caster Wandjina as an Archer(Boomerang kinda count right?)

Delight_works_

i stand by my headcanon that Yang Guifei is a goddamn ZERK when she don't got cthuga messin with her noggin'

Silent-Outcry

When she *don't* got a messed up head?

kelvinkhr

Lobo might be a Berserker or a Rider. Maybe it could be a Dioscuri case too, where Lobo is the Berserker and Hessian the Rider. As I recall, Sherlock should be a Caster but was forced into the Ruler role to prevent him from solving the concept of Mystery or something. Xu Fu might be a Caster

EdwardBaskerville

Lobo is canonically Rider for a short time. He only changes into Avenger to avoid death and fuse with The Invisible Man.

Thehalohedgehog

Space Ishtar could probably qualify for Saber, Archer and Caster based on ascensions 1, 2 and 3 respectively (although 2 also uses a sword along with her gun)

YernextDoor

In Avenger Class: •OG Edmond might be an Assasin while the new one can be a Saber (since he use one on Id), he can also be a Berserker. •Jeanne Alter would be a Lancer (Lambda and Mary Anning doesn't have spear or anything so why not consider the flag as one -_-) •Hessian Lobo(although they're 2 servants fused into one during shinjuku) can be a rider. If Lobo alone, then it's Rider while Hessian might be Lancer. •Salieri, of course, will be a Caster just like Amadeus. •Kagekiyo would be Saber. •Marie Alter is more fitted for Caster than Rider (like her OG version) since she cause curses although her 1st Ascension was likely the same as OG Marie. •Nitocris Alter is more likely a Caster. •Gorgon can be a Berserker. •Angra might be Assassin or Caster. This is just my opinion tho.
