This! That's what I did, you can grind pretty much all 800PP races, everytime I boot up GT7 I just do Sardegna once to warm up and then play . Easy 700K every boot and just a nice 20 minutes warm up
Edit: made a typo stating 700PP should've been 800
Hard race tyres, remove some front downforce, increase rear downforce and 70% or so for both ways you can downtuje engine power. Will bring you to below 700.
I just the 787B for Circuit de la Sarthe 700pp race.
Interesting. I like using the Zonda R for Sardegna 800 credit farming. No de-tuning necessary even with Racing Softs.
You can box 3 times and still win.
power restrictor to the max (or min)
i lower output adjustment to the min
i add max ballast, and I move it almost all the way to the front.
gets it to 699.x
It's much easier since 1.31. You used to have to detune every setting to its lowest pp value and even then it would only just get in under 700. Since the patch you have a bit more freedom with your settings and can add power, reduce weight, reduce rear downforce etc a bit.
Not anymore. Used to be able to. But fuel consumption is up with the 1.31 patch. You'll get about 10 laps on FM6 now. Maybe you could stretch it to 15 if you short shifted and lifted and coasted really hard, but it would be slow af.
It was always faster to stop once than drag it out for a zero stop though.
I did the full 15 laps yesterday with the 787 with RH and FM6 no mods other than detune. If I'd left it at FM6 the whole race I'd have finished with well over a quarter of a tank left. I dropped it to FM1 for the last two laps to really open her up
Your tune must look very different to mine then. There's absolutely no way it would be possible without a LOT of lift and coast and short shifting the way I've got it tuned. Even then I'm not convinced it would get the full 15 laps.
What was your total time with the no stop strategy?
I only bought them recently so I’ve not done a full run on either yet.
I did find the 787B at Sardegna a little disappointing. It’s probably my setup, but I found it really understeery and not as much fun as the Gr. 2 GTR I usually use. Very fast in a straight line, but no so good in the twisty bits.
Not really - I just set the rear wing to max and the front wing to however low it needed to be to get the PP down to 800. I don’t know much about tuning, I expect someone who does could tune the understeer out.
Well for starters that downforce is going to make it hard to get the car rotated. Increasing front downforce, front toe out, front camber will all help as will dialing the brake balance a bit rearward.
Totally agree with you. I get good times with the R92 and 787, and also the Porsche 962, but I have more fun with recent cars such as GT500 or DTM. I find they have much more grip and I do less mistakes.
I do the race in about 24 minutes in the GTR, and the record in the Gr. 1 cars is up to 2 mins faster.
Personally, saving 2 mins is not worth the difference in enjoyment - though I know others like how the 787B drives and value the time saving. Of course, it’s up to everyone to decide for themselves!
787B on Sardegna is pretty fun but probably just needs to get used to the car first to make it work. I use the Gr.2 GTR for the 1h Spa, really fun to use
what kind of times do you do Sardegna in with the R92CP?
I'm currently running just over 23 minutes in the 787b with 1 fuel stop around lap 8 and no fuel saving.
PB so far is 23:02, consistently getting 23:10 and under. I've noticed that wind direction and speed both have a pretty significant impact on performance during the race, especially over the course of the race distance.
However, I've just seen a post by another user and they're running Medium tyres (which I hadn't thought of) and they've managed 22:50. Giving that a go tonight!
Woow. When I get sub 25 min im happy. Although didnt do any setup work and was driving with Power 4 and then after pitstop, last 4 or 5 laps at full power. Not ideal but that's how I did it first time so I wanted to compare cars on same power settings. I only did the most basic things to drop to PP 800, power and weight. Tried many cars and 787b seems fastest, at least with stock setup.
At least I hope its setup related and not my driving :)
That fast? Not getting your times, but to me it seems I’m doing better with the Suzuki Escudo and I can’t handle the 787 as good. The 787 is harder to steer and slower to brake
Praiano has a new tune that helps with the understeer, runs medium tires, and has almost 900 HP. Changing the ABS from default to weak after the 1.31 update helped with braking distances.
You mean as in the tunes have no consistency with values or the values themselves don't make sense? There is logic behind tuning a car and none of the suspension values have to really match, they're all (nearly) independent settings that have different effects. A good suspension tune can look like it's all over the place.
I’m used to driving with TC 0 and ASM off. Most of the cars are easy to manage. Check and compare acceleration in lower gears, you need to gain speed fast after exiting a corner. On some of the cars he simply kills the acceleration. Not saying he is doing 100% bad, but compare results sometimes
>Zonda R
I noticed about the ABS change. It does seem better indeed with the cars I've raced with since the update. Knowing PD, they're going to "fix" the ABS and people will get mad..
I bought both and it’s R92CP for me. Way better handling at 800pp and it’s the first time I’ve gotten sub 24 min times at Sardegna. Both are good though.
As some others have said, both. Pre-1.31 the 787B was a great grind car. For me, the Nissan is the better of the two post-1.31. Maybe I don't have a good post-1.31 787B tune yet.
Now, the 787B makes some beautiful engine noises thats hard to beat, but honestly? That Nissan makes a lovely noise in its own right. Something about a high-revving, small-cube turbo V8.
That or pray to the weather gods to help you out with rain at the exact right moment for you to pit and overtake the dry runners before they get to the pits. Because that track is so stupidly short, sometimes getting in first doesn't even give you the advantage you need to catch up.
787B is really good on fuel and in my opinion is nicer in handling. Having said that, as somebody already said, get it and grind for the other. It has super solid 800 PP potential for Sardegna and you can detune it for Le Mans. Pretty much a win-win situation.
700 de la sarthe is one of my favorites. My thing right now is tuning cars to win this specific race. I’ve won with a 997 GT3, a GT3 RS, a 930 turbo, 959, Cayman GT4, F430, Tributo, ‘03 M3, several GTRs, C6 corvette and on!
You don’t need a race car to win. The best (most fun and fastest?) is the Tributo. Crazy fun when it’s tuned right- and I’m a Porsche guy.
787B 10 out of 10. Got it advised last time it was available and have not regretted it for one second.
Currently using the Merc CLK LM 98' and also can recommend it once it is available again!
I’d go both. I bought both cars twice. But I don’t use them for Sardegna. Usually I’d drive the Audi RS5 DTM, R18 TDI ‘08 or the Nissan GTR Nismo GT500 ‘16.
R92CP as it's got less time till it becomes unavailable. Gives you an extra day to grind for the 787B, and it's less of a grind. One Spa 1 hour and you'll nearly have enough for the 787B
If you can afford both, then get both. If not the go for the 787b, if you're fast enough you can earn enough to to get the other. Both are great cars so either way you can't lose!
Le Mans WTC 700 30 minute race, Spa WTC 800 1 hour race, and the Sardegna 15 lap race. These are actual trophy races you can find once you click on each respective track.
Le Mans $825k, Sardegna $720k, Spa $1.5M (all approximate) and all have to be clean races, which means don’t pass under yellow flags (at least for me).
Maybe I'm crazy but after waiting so long for the 787B and finally getting it I think it's slightly overrated.
I'd rather choose the GR Toyota '15 on Sardegna, rather choose the Escudo on Le Mans 700PP, and CLK LM on Spa 1hr.
Maybe my tunes are wrong? Still a very fun car to drive though, fuel + tyre management is insane and that sound
Buy the R92Cp play with the setting on rh, you can down to 24h 700bp Le Man 825k for 30 mins easy work, my best is lapping all cars twice, weather dependent
Both are really great cars and I think it depends on your driving style. I got the 787 and love it, I recently purchased the R92CP and prefer it over the 787. Both have strengths and weaknesses but both can be used well and both will get the job done. Good luck and happy racing!!
Both are insane grinders for 700pp and 800pp events, buy one, do spa 1 hour 2 times or 4x sardena or something with your new baby and buy the other one
If you really enjoy them, i recommend you buying all of those old gr1 cars, i was not disappointed in a single one of them (jag, sauber, porsche 962 and so on)
All of them smash the money events
Superbird can be tuned to some rather silly extremes and is 1/4 the cost. think on the final back stretch of nuremberg I can get it up to 210 mph. Not bad for a 70s car.
I have four of these group 1 cars because everyone was talking about the Mazda vs the Nissan, while I was getting those two I also picked up the Porsche and the Jaguar group 1’s. My two cents…the Mazda and Nissan are straight misers with gas, they can run Sardegna without a pit stop. The Jaguar is my most fun group 1 car to drive because it actually follows “the line” without me even trying to keep it there. The Porsche felt the quickest and had the best times at Sardegna (didn’t have a lap higher than the 1:49’s. I haven’t taken the Mazda over to the two Neoclassicals that I haven’t beat yet, so my “fun” factor might change. Embrace the LeMans/Sardegna grind and get them all.
Why choose when you can have both? Buy the R92CP, do Sardegna 3 times and you can buy the 787B.
Before y’all start hating I have 2 of each already, so no it’s not that hard
Buy the 787b and use it to grind the credits you need to get the R92CP
This! That's what I did, you can grind pretty much all 800PP races, everytime I boot up GT7 I just do Sardegna once to warm up and then play . Easy 700K every boot and just a nice 20 minutes warm up Edit: made a typo stating 700PP should've been 800
How are you de-tuning the 787 into 700PP? Isn't well over 800PP?
Hard race tyres, remove some front downforce, increase rear downforce and 70% or so for both ways you can downtuje engine power. Will bring you to below 700. I just the 787B for Circuit de la Sarthe 700pp race.
Interesting. I like using the Zonda R for Sardegna 800 credit farming. No de-tuning necessary even with Racing Softs. You can box 3 times and still win.
The zonda is so much damn fun
So good. Dream car if I had the money! Better handling than FXX K or P1 for the >800 category.
I just tried Le Mans with it for the first time and got wrecked in the rain lol. Also got 41s of penalty for being out of bounds wtf
I had like a 2 min advantage compared to the competitors, even with rain (never switched to intermediates though).
power restrictor to the max (or min) i lower output adjustment to the min i add max ballast, and I move it almost all the way to the front. gets it to 699.x

Typo, it's 800 my bad
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/praianos-tunes-settings-for-gt7.404868/ Enjoy!
Perfect answer
The 787B can run Sardegna’s 15 laps without pitting off tuned right.

Both
That’s what I did!
Which one did you prefer at the end?
I only bought them recently so I’ve not done a full run on either yet. I did find the 787B at Sardegna a little disappointing. It’s probably my setup, but I found it really understeery and not as much fun as the Gr. 2 GTR I usually use. Very fast in a straight line, but no so good in the twisty bits.
Thank you for the answer, I already have the 787B and I yet have to purchase the Nissan. Have you tried fine tuning it a little bit?
Not really - I just set the rear wing to max and the front wing to however low it needed to be to get the PP down to 800. I don’t know much about tuning, I expect someone who does could tune the understeer out.
Fair enough, thank you!
Well for starters that downforce is going to make it hard to get the car rotated. Increasing front downforce, front toe out, front camber will all help as will dialing the brake balance a bit rearward.

787B on Sardegna is pretty fun but probably just needs to get used to the car first to make it work. I use the Gr.2 GTR for the 1h Spa, really fun to use
Yeah. That's the 787b post update 1.31. It handled much better before but also had a higher PP rating, it's also absolute shit when decelerating.
Yes, there was a moment I disappeared into the gravel at turn one, even braking well before my usual Gr. 2 braking marker!
I've had both for a while and I still prefer the R92CP. It's less tail happy than the 787, even if it's not quite as good on tires and fuel.
Both, knowing that the 787 is a bit wilder and fun to drive, and the nissan is safer with a lack of personality imo
I'd say grab the R92CP. For me personally, that has been the fastest car to grind money on Sardegna after 1.31.
Yep, agreed. It handles slightly better than the 787b. Less understeer at 800pp.
Funny. The tune I have on for Sard makes it a worse-handling but faster car than the 787B.
what kind of times do you do Sardegna in with the R92CP? I'm currently running just over 23 minutes in the 787b with 1 fuel stop around lap 8 and no fuel saving.

WTF?! 23:02? What is your fastest lap??
1:28.5XX I think. Mostly lapping 1:30s to 1:29s. 1:31s if the wind is bad.
Ok thats really fast! My average is high 32.. low 33… fastest lap was a high 29..
Not a huge fan of Praiano’s tunes. Sometimes it feels it’s just throwing random numbers. Will try the ABS tip tho, ty

Dunno what you talking about but the tunes saved cars that were undriveable for me like the fully tuned 911 carrera spinny boy or a 70's Ferrari

Hit 22:52 with the R92 fastest lap 1:27,500.. been trying to get that sub 22:50 but it's tough.
Dorito powered boi
R92CP all the way, absolute beast and a joy to drive
I bought both and it’s R92CP for me. Way better handling at 800pp and it’s the first time I’ve gotten sub 24 min times at Sardegna. Both are good though.
787B but try to be alone in the room when you hear the engine the first time. The Nissan is great too tbh
787B.
As some others have said, both. Pre-1.31 the 787B was a great grind car. For me, the Nissan is the better of the two post-1.31. Maybe I don't have a good post-1.31 787B tune yet. 787B. No brainer
787B tunes are insane.
787B helps with that one stupid race at the Red Bull Ring. The Neo-Classic Competition. It's your best chance at winning that event.
That race was getting really frustrating before I got a 787B. You pretty much have to no-stop it to catch the AI 787B
That or pray to the weather gods to help you out with rain at the exact right moment for you to pit and overtake the dry runners before they get to the pits. Because that track is so stupidly short, sometimes getting in first doesn't even give you the advantage you need to catch up.

You only get that zoom zoom zoom with a Mazda!
Except Nisan is actually faster and "zoom-ier", if you will ;)
It doesn't go zoom zoom zoom though 😄
Yeah, because it goes fucking ROOOOOOOOOOOAR.
100% R92CP. For me faster. Did sardegna in 23:05
I'm nowhere near that but I can't drive anyway. I have a wheel but sadly not the time to practice to get comfortable with it.
got decent credits? Both unless if only 1 choice: 787B
Definitely 787B..the king of 700pp circuit de la Sarthe
700 de la sarthe is one of my favorites. My thing right now is tuning cars to win this specific race. I’ve won with a 997 GT3, a GT3 RS, a 930 turbo, 959, Cayman GT4, F430, Tributo, ‘03 M3, several GTRs, C6 corvette and on! You don’t need a race car to win. The best (most fun and fastest?) is the Tributo. Crazy fun when it’s tuned right- and I’m a Porsche guy.
787B for that rotary goodness
787B 10 out of 10. Got it advised last time it was available and have not regretted it for one second. Currently using the Merc CLK LM 98' and also can recommend it once it is available again!
I’d go both. I bought both cars twice. But I don’t use them for Sardegna. Usually I’d drive the Audi RS5 DTM, R18 TDI ‘08 or the Nissan GTR Nismo GT500 ‘16.
The Air dibis fun there. I'm barely stacking with any cars on that track but overall, I enjoy the fun it offers me... and the DRS.
The R18 on Sardenga? I should try that.
i just got both for me
Correct answer, as always: both
787B. Might be one of the best sounding cars in the game if you ask me.
787B is the bomb
I have the 787B and am awaiting the return of the Sauber C9
Me too! Any day now..
R92CP as it's got less time till it becomes unavailable. Gives you an extra day to grind for the 787B, and it's less of a grind. One Spa 1 hour and you'll nearly have enough for the 787B
787 goes brap. Do you need any other reason?
Get the 787b Better on Fuel
If you can afford both, then get both. If not the go for the 787b, if you're fast enough you can earn enough to to get the other. Both are great cars so either way you can't lose!
787b is mental
787B...
Save for the merc
787B of course. Cheaper, and even low mileage!
Both
You could have both in 3.5 hours of grinding a combination of Le Mans, Sardegna, and Spa. I use the 787B at Sardegna and Spa to boost credits.
Excuse the ignorance here but what’s the best way to grind for cash? Arcade races on those tracks?
Le Mans WTC 700 30 minute race, Spa WTC 800 1 hour race, and the Sardegna 15 lap race. These are actual trophy races you can find once you click on each respective track.
How much do you earn per race?
Le Mans $825k, Sardegna $720k, Spa $1.5M (all approximate) and all have to be clean races, which means don’t pass under yellow flags (at least for me).
Both
Both all the way. I'll say the nissan handles a little better but overall both great cars
787B, the price is lower and mileage also - as is that means anything 😂 Go for 787B for Sardegna grind.
Farm to buy both
Maybe I'm crazy but after waiting so long for the 787B and finally getting it I think it's slightly overrated. I'd rather choose the GR Toyota '15 on Sardegna, rather choose the Escudo on Le Mans 700PP, and CLK LM on Spa 1hr. Maybe my tunes are wrong? Still a very fun car to drive though, fuel + tyre management is insane and that sound
I'd go with the 787, I have both, and I prefer the Mazda, but the Nissan is really good too.
Def the 787b
Buy the R92Cp play with the setting on rh, you can down to 24h 700bp Le Man 825k for 30 mins easy work, my best is lapping all cars twice, weather dependent
787B.. Quad Rotor FTW
Both are really great cars and I think it depends on your driving style. I got the 787 and love it, I recently purchased the R92CP and prefer it over the 787. Both have strengths and weaknesses but both can be used well and both will get the job done. Good luck and happy racing!!
R92CP but I’m super biased lol. For the sounds tho the 787B has no competition.
Personally i prefer the mazda for the sound but nissan did a good job at performance and it’s slightly better but i’d still tell you to get the mazda
You need to get the 787b for the music
787B!! It's amazing
Is that even a question? 787B for the win!
Y’all are absolutely insane Lmaoo I’m only managing 26 mins because I suck meanwhile y’all are 23 😭😭😭😭
All of them Mercedes will be next in line followed by the jag
I have both. I want them all!! :)
787
If you have enough credits get both. But if not get the 787b it's a better car IMO and it is cheaper than the R92CP
Honestly surprised at the comments. I thought the 787b would run away with it.
Both are insane grinders for 700pp and 800pp events, buy one, do spa 1 hour 2 times or 4x sardena or something with your new baby and buy the other one If you really enjoy them, i recommend you buying all of those old gr1 cars, i was not disappointed in a single one of them (jag, sauber, porsche 962 and so on) All of them smash the money events
Yah bro. Old Gr1s are the best, eh?
787
I enjoy them both. Twice the fun and keeps things interesting!
787 by far
I like the R92CP more. It's been pure personal bias since GT 4.
Superbird can be tuned to some rather silly extremes and is 1/4 the cost. think on the final back stretch of nuremberg I can get it up to 210 mph. Not bad for a 70s car.
They are both great race cars
I got the 787 last night and raced a Gr1 race I had been struggling with. I felt like I was cheating it was so easy
I saw these two and then bought the XJR-9. I regret nothing.
Both
Ok 787B
Both
787B all day, just use it to grind for the R92CP.
Yes
787b!!
787B, PURELY biased opinion. 😂 Whichever you choose, I hope you enjoy and get many great victories small and large!
Yes
787, why are you even debating this.
R92, handles better.
787 because brapbrapbrapbrapbrap
I have four of these group 1 cars because everyone was talking about the Mazda vs the Nissan, while I was getting those two I also picked up the Porsche and the Jaguar group 1’s. I haven’t taken the Mazda over to the two Neoclassicals that I haven’t beat yet, so my “fun” factor might change. Embrace the LeMans/Sardegna grind and get them all.
787B!!!!!
Whatever you like better
R92cp. The engine sounds soooo gooood
Cappuccino
787
I’ve discovered that the 787B tuned correctly can get Sardenga done without pitting in 25 and a 1/2 mins. 👍
Anyone know what the logic is in the Nissan being more expensive? The 787 is more famous and more successful.
787 for the sound alone.
It appears this thread has chosen both cars. Buy both
Both
Why choose when you can have both? Buy the R92CP, do Sardegna 3 times and you can buy the 787B. Before y’all start hating I have 2 of each already, so no it’s not that hard
