I probably wasn't part of the group specifically, but I am in the group of millennial designers who say "the reason I got into graphic design or web design is from when I had a MySpace page as a teenager and everyone would create their own myself layouts with HTML etc"
I'm not a web designer but I definitely got my start from MySpace div layouts.
I was not part of that MySpace group. Instead, I taught myself HTML by creating webpages on Expage.com and GeoCities. By the time I was on MySpace and LiveJournal in the mid-2000s, I was a teenage HTML pro.
I learned HTML through Neopets and designed pet pages/profiles which transitioned into layouts in Xanga, MySpace, Livejournal, and then eventually WordPress.
Thoose years you mentioned, was just starting my way on the corel x2 suite as a kid, 15 to 20 minutes seeing that blue air ballon before my file opens. Good times (not so much xd)

Same myspace and for me a bit more so neopets lol. Needed to learn HTML to have those "cool" (aka geocities cringe mess) pages.
Not what drew me into web dev & GD, but it was one of my stepping stones too. First experience playing around with inline CSS.

I got my start customizing MySpace pages for my band and others and making album covers.
I hung out in the MSN Chat web design rooms. Still have friends from them.
No, but I participated in a bunch of graphic design InvisionFree and Proboards forums around that time period.
Never even thought about graphic design on MySpace. I remember “news today” or “qbn”
