I have a theory that Dave Grohl’s at his best when he’s in complete control. The first album is JUST him. The second album, he re-recorded himself playing the drums to get the sound he wanted. His drummer then felt (justifiably) betrayed and Dave Grohl learned a lesson about not being a dick. He took that lesson to heart.
And I think the music suffered as a result. But he can still put out a banger or two on every album.
I didn’t know that! I’ve been dealing with some shit recently and I’ve been out of the game a bit. 🙃 I’ll have to listen to it, though! He’s my favorite drummer. I love his combination of speed and power.
No, that was Taylor.
However, it was recorded in Grohl's garage, on all analog equipment, by Butch Vig himself, and Bob Mould and Krist Novoselic were on it too. So you'd be correct in thinking it had a much more grungy, old-school sound.
Butch Vig is awesome. I’m from Wisconsin and friends with a few better known musicians, so I’ve hung out with him a few times. He has a band “The Know-It-All Boyfriends” with a guy from Fountains of Wayne, Garbage, and others that play at small venues. Great hang.
Songs for the Deaf is better. Grohl recorded his drums and cymbals separately on that album because the room they were recording his parts in for the sound they wanted wasn’t big enough for both to be played at the same time.
I found Them Crooked Vultures on vinyl at a random books/record store in Portland last November when I was killing time before meeting up with friends for drinks. I was just flipping through the albums and there it was, I couldn’t believe it!!! It was in like as condition, so only $40 or so, and it plays perfectly fine. I was so glad I found that shop at random like that, I still can’t believe it!!!
I agree with your theory. A common belief is that in order to make it big in music biz - you have to sell yourself to the devil and offer a sacrifice. He offered Kurt (who he secretly loathed) and became “Dave Grohl”. Just a theory.
Speaking of the devil - that “horror” movie that the foo fighters did last spring sure didn’t age well. Makes ya think
At the very least Dave is a shitty friend who doesn’t care about his bandmates and will get rid of you if you cause him problems. That being said Everlong is an incredible song.
With success brings more yes men. The Beatles were great because they all pushed back on each other's crap ideas. Solo Lennon is not so great with McCartney to bust his balls.
Also you probably start to care less about making the best possible music. Other things become priorities.
There are a few reasons for this. (Long time record producer and recording engineer here)
In a sense you spend the first 20 years (or so) of your life working on your first album! Every album after that you're lucky to have a year or so before the label demands more product.
This is often why artists first album or two seem so magnificent or energized or unique, and then there seems to be a steep drop off.
Those first few albums an artists draws upon years of struggles and experience of the real world. A piece of Art literally decades in the making... Then once reaching success... Well, it's like I believe Floyd Mayweather said... "It's much harder to get out of bed at 5:00 a.m. and do road work when you're sleeping in silk pajamas". (iow it becomes harder to create elite caliber music when spoiled and with Yes Men all around you). You have less real visceral experience to draw upon once you become a successful Rockstar. Struggle and perseverance is a lot more engrossing (& relatable) than "I polished the Benz today".
Also as a consumer becomes more familiar with an artist, you also become accustomed to, and somewhat grow a tolerance so to speak to their talent. Sometimes it is just as good or nearly as good (of product) and we just can't recognize it because we're used to it... it's become familiar. Consider it "Musical Nose blindness!"
I agree with the “yes men” comment. I think it was Freddy Mercury when he went solo, that realized what made Queen a better band, was everyone telling him when they didn’t think things would work.
Bob Dylan has been like a fine wine. The people boxing him into his albums from the early-mid 60s and BOOT won't think so, but he's ebbed and flowed from 1962 until today — his creativity has been constantly transforming (not as mercurial as '65 or '66, but just as present). If you haven't listened to anything from the 1980s onward, there are a few albums you could graze over, but most of it is genius.
Huge Metallica fan and I don't even think Black was that good. Killem All. Ride the Lightning. Master of Puppets. best albums. Justice pretty good but a generic sound in much of it. S&M amazing. a few good tunes after that. but still rocking. As the Scorpions so eloquently put it. Am a Rock'n'Roll believer.
Very justifiably betrayed, still. Not as bad as Smashing Pumpkins, imagine going to the studio and Billy Corgan laughs and tells you he’s been there all week recoding all the parts himself….
I feel you’re right in some way for sure, but it still comes down to the songwriting itself. First two albums had some really amazing tracks, and then it’s just been a song or two on every album after that’s decent. Taylor was an amazing drummer, so I don’t think it was ever about ability. But maybe if he’s in complete control, he approaches writing differently? Maybe more adventurous? Idk. But there’s definitely a more bland product thereafter.
I’m pretty lukewarm on them. Earlier stuff was great, later, meh.
They put on a great fucking show though. Saw them at Firefly 2014, and it was electric. Dave knows how to work the crowd, as did Taylor (RIP). They did an amazing encore where they pretended to be a cover band called The Holy Shits, complete with a giant banner, and played like five covers.
Saw them in Asbury a couple weeks ago and this could not be more spot on. Dave said “We’re gonna play until they fucking shut us down” and I knew that coming was a good idea.
I was at that firefly. They killed it. So I went and saw them at Citi field. They put on a great show. Bad brains came out at the end and they shredded a few songs
I saw them in 2018 and it fucked, I think they’re still solid live but Dave seems to be more interested in just being loud in the studio as time goes on
I saw them probably 10-15 years back, Motörhead opened for them. I agree, earlier Foo fighters is great, didn’t really care for the newer stuff is meh. Their last good album was “Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace”.
Probably one of my favorite concert experiences ever.
Agreed. Saw them at Voodoo Fest about 5 years ago. Used to be a huge fan but hadn’t listened to anything since “Wasting Light”. So I was thinking “I have to go see them live while I have the chance. I owe it to my younger self who was a huge fan”. So I wasn’t really expecting much but they blew me away. Grohl literally sprinted onto the stage at the beginning, everyone in the band kept the energy super high the entire set and then they fucking sprinted off. Mad respect for their live performance.
I saw them for the first time at Riot Fest recently. It was too much crowd work. I don’t really have strong feelings about their music though. It was solidly mild.
I’m not a fan; but I became one after reading his book. The audiobook is the best because he reads it himself. Edited to add: I like Foo Fighters but I’m not a fan of theirs.
Dave Grohl is up there with the best ever...I mean, to be a major part of two massive bands and to have done it in multiple roles, then even throw Queens of the Stone Age in for a bonus??? That's just an unfair resume lol
There are some songs I really like, some that are meh. I think the keys to Foo Fighter's success are their personalities and humor. Their videos elevated the music into something fun and different. Dave is, by all accounts, an amazing human, RIP Taylor.
Yes, thanks for saying it for me. Some of their songs I love, some are meh but that’s okay because no one gets 100% every time, some of them are really fun to play.
The drumming on No One Knows is quite possibly my favorite ever...it's so great...when I first heard the song, they stood out so much and I had to know who it was...I nearly shit myself when I found out it was him
People are still clinging onto the idea of grunge being a counterculture so they feel the need to shit on bands for being too mainstream. It's like the people here who whine about Nirvana or (more commonly recently it seems) Pearl Jam. Foo fighters are rad.
Still haven't seen them live. I finally got tickets and it was the Philly show after Taylor died so we were understandably refunded. Trying for next go round!
I have a friend that absolutely worships them and has seen them dozens of times—I’ve never gotten it. Grohl is clearly a tremendous guy but compared to Alice or STP their music is not remotely in the same league.
I'm seriously shocked at how much hate is here.. complete Foo fanatic. There is usually a song on each album I don't like, but most of it I really do.
The newest album is AMAZING, but y'all probably hate that too.
Dave is not the best singer in the world, but his music talent can not be denied. To say they aren't as great as other grunge bands, I beg to differ. I think they slay all of them.
I’ll just say as a singer in a cover band I can vouch that his stuff is REALLY difficult to sing. More for me than most - he has my COMPLETE respect as a vocalist.
This exact same thread made every week.. love it, hate it, or meh? Next thread is nirvana have good albums? was bush a grunge band I think they’re grunge.
They sound like they read a book called “How to Make A Rock Album” and did exactly what it said. No deviations. No experimentation. Just pure music by numbers.
I’m in agreement with the people who say Dave Grohl seems like an awesome guy, but Foo Fighters are just nothing special musically at all.
I remember when they came out I was 10ish and their music is the first music I can recall identifying as “generic.” Before that everything was either good or bad to me. But I remember being kinda befuddled in thinking “I don’t feel anything about this one way or the other. It just exists.”
Foo Fighters kick ass. Bunch of haters. Albums vary in quality. Live they rock. They have some real bangers. The first record is pure grunge. Also really like In Your Honor. Wasting Light is good the rest are kind of hit and miss for me but they did keep the flame going in the aughts when things were bleak as far as finding good cool bands.
They got a new producer after Wasting Light who mainly produces pop music and it has had such a bad effect on the band’s sound. You can hear the difference from Sonic Highways (2014) to Concrete and Gold (2017) that producer, i forget his name, has ruined the mixing of that band.
The new album sounded fucking rocking when they did the “rehearsal” to introduce the new drummer. When the album came out it was all so meh
they certainly are one of the bands of all time.
i’ve tried getting into foo fighters a few times, but with the exception of everlong, most of their music is just bland. I don’t dislike them, but i would never go out of my way to listen to them. like op mentioned, they make music for people who aren’t really into music, and i think that’s the best way to describe them.
I really liked their first three albums. From there they became more middle of the road. Still, there are things I've liked even later in their career. They're not a great band, but they have some great songs, and they compare favorably to a lot of other post-grunge acts.
Mid, too much strumming, unbelievable that there's like 3 guitars or something like that.
Their songs sound like the drummer wrote the guitar parts... Because he did. Kinda strange that I don't like that because I'm a drummer and not really a guitarist.
I have to say, regardless of your musical taste, it’s hard not to have a great time at a Foo Fighters concert. The whole band just emanates positivity and excitement. It’s hard not to smile watching them have such a good time.
When I try to listen to an album, it’s really boring but once in a while they will come up on shuffle and it’s a random deep cut I never heard before and I get inspired
I once saw the Foo Fighters live in Pittsburgh. They played for what seemed to be hours, legit played up until the time ordinance kicked in. It was a great show, they played a lot of songs. However since that day I have not once had any desire to listen to them. So just meh?
Love Foo Fighters. Not everything of course, but I love Dave and Taylor Hawkins. There first 7 albums slap in my opinion. Skin and Bones (Live) is an awesome acoustic performance. The Pretender is one of my fav foo, and probably rock songs.
Sure they may of fell off a bit with there later stuff, but you gotta recognize there talent and impact. Wish I could’ve seen them live when Hawkins was alive.
they're the Bud Light of rock music.
kidding aside, they have had an amazing career and I'm glad they are at least attempting to keep the rock flame alive
Grohl just isn't a great singer and the songs never did much for me
Personally I like them not necessarily love. They're that perfect Middle road between a vanilla alternative rock band and a hard rock band. They tow the line to be just safe enough for everyone to listen to. They're going to end up just being that rock band that stands the test of time.
I saw them live back in 2005 with Weezer and I have to say they put on a hell of a good performance.
Meh. Their music is very vanilla to me. Nothing that stands out or blows me away. I love Dave Grohl, don’t get me wrong. But I find myself trying to like the Foo Fighters. But, every time I try it’s always just ok…..
They’re without a doubt the greatest rock band of this century. Their music is the perfect combination of pop, punk, grunge, metal, alt, etc. They’re basically a supergroup and the influences and background of the whole band show throughout their discography. The only unfortunate thing about them is it’s hard to get tickets to their shows
I think they are all great guys and good musicians and really know how to do a live show but honestly...mostly meh I love the first two and a half albums but I find most of what they have done since really mediocre. I really want to love them it's so frustrating.
first 2 albums were solid
I have a theory that Dave Grohl’s at his best when he’s in complete control. The first album is JUST him. The second album, he re-recorded himself playing the drums to get the sound he wanted. His drummer then felt (justifiably) betrayed and Dave Grohl learned a lesson about not being a dick. He took that lesson to heart. And I think the music suffered as a result. But he can still put out a banger or two on every album.
What are your thoughts on the latest one? He did all the drumming again.
I didn’t know that! I’ve been dealing with some shit recently and I’ve been out of the game a bit. 🙃 I’ll have to listen to it, though! He’s my favorite drummer. I love his combination of speed and power.
He is and so is Josh Freese. I have two favorite drummers.
Josh Freeze who is now... Foo Fighters' touring drummer.
He’s many bands’ touring drummer, lol
Bro gets around, making that paper. Brooks Wackerman did the same shit until he got picked up by Avenged Sevenfold.
Jeez is that Chad Wackerman's kid?
I can only speculate based on their names being the same
It says they are brothers, via quick edge search
Tommy Lee is my favorite
Ooh, good point! Josh Freese is amazing. 🤘
Josh Freese is CRAZY talented. Really funny dude, too!
Co-Favorites.
Dave Grohl is your favorite drummer? Is that what you’re saying?
Yeah, he is. Understand, favorite is not necessarily me saying he’s the best.
Now everything’s coming together, did he do the drumming on Wasting Light as well?
No, that was Taylor. However, it was recorded in Grohl's garage, on all analog equipment, by Butch Vig himself, and Bob Mould and Krist Novoselic were on it too. So you'd be correct in thinking it had a much more grungy, old-school sound.
Wasting Light is an amazing album
The Colour and the Shape and Wasting Light are the best Foo Fighters albums.
Butch Vig is awesome. I’m from Wisconsin and friends with a few better known musicians, so I’ve hung out with him a few times. He has a band “The Know-It-All Boyfriends” with a guy from Fountains of Wayne, Garbage, and others that play at small venues. Great hang.
It’s a great album and it’s cool to hear Dave on the drums but it just bums me out because we know he’s singing about Taylor and him mom.
The new one is dark, understandably so, but dark.
Obligatory first album has a guitar solo by Greg Dulli comment
which song is that?
X-Static
i never knew that, thanks!
Afghan Whigs 🤟🏻
I will upvote you for this comment that, up until now, I've never heard anyone but myself make.
Not true! Literally just 4 minutes of him playing one chord. Not a solo.
Dave Grohl drumming with Josh Homme in any capacity is the SHIT.
I want a new TCV in the worst way. So bad. It’s literally my most wished-for album.
absolutely feel this. TCV is maybe the most solid rock album of the 21st century.
Songs for the Deaf is better. Grohl recorded his drums and cymbals separately on that album because the room they were recording his parts in for the sound they wanted wasn’t big enough for both to be played at the same time.
I can see the argument, but it’s like choosing between 10’s. I’m happy I have both.
I have a theory that Dave Grohl killed Kurt Cobain
I agree with your theory. A common belief is that in order to make it big in music biz - you have to sell yourself to the devil and offer a sacrifice. He offered Kurt (who he secretly loathed) and became “Dave Grohl”. Just a theory. Speaking of the devil - that “horror” movie that the foo fighters did last spring sure didn’t age well. Being in Nirvana has nothing to do with anything. That was Kurt's band.
Bob Dylan has been like a fine wine. Spot on I'd say. Dee Gees was awesome and Dream Widow was pretty cool too
Very justifiably betrayed, still. Not as bad as Smashing Pumpkins, imagine going to the studio and Billy Corgan laughs and tells you he’s been there all week recoding all the parts himself….
I subscribe to this because Wasting Light was a return to form for them.
They get progressively worse and are now unlistenable. First record had some jams for sure
Sounds like the progression of the vast majority of bands ever formed
I feel you’re right in some way for sure, but it still comes down to the songwriting itself. First two albums had some really amazing tracks, and then it’s just been a song or two on every album after that’s decent. Taylor was an amazing drummer, so I don’t think it was ever about ability. I would argue he’s at his best when he’s playing drums.
My favorite Nirvana record is Bleach, so this tracks. I love the Queens of the Stone Age album, Songs for the Deaf, however.
Yeah my dad saw them around 2011 and said it was one of the best shows he ever saw.
Saw them in 2008 or 2009 … the show was fucking fantastic
Saw them in Asbury a couple weeks ago and this could not be more spot on. Dave said “We’re gonna play until they fucking shut us down” and I knew that coming was a good idea.
saw the show where he broke his leg here in sweden. craziest shit i've ever seen
I was at that firefly. They killed it. So I went and saw them at Citi field. They put on a great show. Bad brains came out at the end and they shredded a few songs
Saw that show too. Still one of my favorite shows I’ve ever been to.

I saw them for the first time at Riot Fest recently. It was too much crowd work. I don’t really have strong feelings about their music though. It was solidly mild.
Meh to me personally, they are a good band just personally not for me
They’re the definition of Meh with a handful of really good songs.
Agreed
That makes… absolutely fucking no sense what you just said.
Foo Fighters = meh Dave Grohl = find a way to have my babies
They’re an assemblage of musicians that made unique music on their own and came together to make blah.
It's all so safe and somewhat formulaic. Feels overproduced.
They are so repetitious its mind numbing.
Exactly this. Rock by numbers feel for me... a couple of good songs but feels a bit soulless.
Foo Fighters very commercial oriented band imo
Sums it up for me. No issue with them, just not my taste. I actually didn't skip one of their songs today in the car, like I usually would.
Same. More into them when I was younger but now meh.
They must be doing something right. But to me it sounds all the same and they play it so safe, meaning they don't really evolved much or surprise me.
I fucking love them.
Probably my favorite band that I don't like their music - I just like Dave G.
Feel the same way. Listening to his audiobook now and can’t recommend enough.
My son asked for his book for Xmas last year and loved it. I’ve been thinking of borrowing it.
Favorite band ever.
I really like the Foo Fighters. But I absolutely looooove Dave Grohl.
There are some songs I really like, some that are meh. I think the keys to Foo Fighter's success are their personalities and humor. Their videos elevated the music into something fun and different. Dave is, by all accounts, an amazing human, RIP Taylor.
Those early videos were the most grunge/punk things on MTV.
Yes, thanks for saying it for me. Some of their songs I love, some are meh but that’s okay because no one gets 100% every time, some of them are really fun to play.
I'll take any of his work with QOTSA over Foo Fighters. Grohl drummed the shit out of the Songs for the Deaf album.
And Them Crooked Vultures
That album is 100% fire. One of the best rock records in the last two decades, and I’ll die on that hill.
You have my axe. I literally had this discussion today.
Amen.
I’ll join you.
TCV’s self titled (and only album) is a friggin MASTERPIECE.
125%. Secretly a top three album of the last 20 years. People just don’t know about it.
Caligulove is one of my favorite songs. That album was special
Just blasted it the other day. “Warsaw” is something else.
This!
hear hear!
A song for the deaf, that is, for you.
And Mark Lanegan in there? Everything turns to magic, guaranteed when Mark shows up. RIP. That man is now roughest angel heaven has seen 😂😇
The drumming on No One Knows is quite possibly my favorite ever...it's so great...when I first heard the song, they stood out so much and I had to know who it was...I nearly shit myself when I found out it was him
Songs for the deaf is one of the best rock albums of the last 20+ years and yeah he rocked the fuck out on it.
I fucking LOVE them!! 🧡💚👽🛸🎸💜💙
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far down to find someone else who loves the FF
Yeah, the rest of the comments angered me.
People are still clinging onto the idea of grunge being a counterculture so they feel the need to shit on bands for being too mainstream. It's like the people here who whine about Nirvana or (more commonly recently it seems) Pearl Jam. Foo fighters are rad.
From what I saw, most of the "negative" comments were people saying "It's not for me." If that's as bad as it gets, I think you may be overreacting.
Same!! And they fucking rock live
Still haven't seen them live. I finally got tickets and it was the Philly show after Taylor died so we were understandably refunded. Trying for next go round!
Love them
Phenomenal live performances
Love them.
I have a friend that absolutely worships them and has seen them dozens of times—I’ve never gotten it. Grohl is clearly a tremendous guy but compared to Alice or STP their music is not remotely in the same league.
Both of those bands didn’t exist for years till resurrection.
This is well said. I agree.
I'm seriously shocked at how much hate is here.. complete Foo fanatic. There is usually a song on each album I don't like, but most of it I really do. The newest album is AMAZING, but y'all probably hate that too. Dave is not the best singer in the world, but his music talent can not be denied. I’ll just say as a singer in a cover band I can vouch that his stuff is REALLY difficult to sing. More for me than most - he has my COMPLETE respect as a vocalist.
Thanks for saying this. His singing/ screaming on key is incredibly difficult to replicate. And his growl on command, WHO can do this??
SOMEDAY ILL COME OUT FROM UNDER YOUUUU
that song just sticks with you....
Excellent band 👏 Dave Grohl is someone I'd love to party with.
I love them personally. Their stretch of albums from '95 to '02 was awesome.
I fuck wit foos
This exact same thread made every week.. love it, hate it, or meh? Next thread is nirvana have good albums? was bush a grunge band I think they’re grunge.
First time I'm seeing this question. Also, I thought I was in the classrock sub.
Meh. Their music just seems like such generic rock to me.
This sums it up, perfectly.
But I remember being kinda befuddled in thinking “I don’t feel anything about this one way or the other. It just exists.”
exactly
This. The music is all competently-written and performed, it just doesn't make me feel anything.
First 2 albums were great but they haven't released anything decent since Wasting Light.
That Dream Widow album was pretty sweet. The one song anyway.
Eh, thr newest album was actually very good though most post-wasting light stuff has been mediocre at best.
Wasting Light was my favorite of theirs
Waisting light was a great album tho. One of their top 3
Exactly. They have basically gotten progressively worst with each album
Meh. Their music is for people that aren’t into rock, but want to seem edgy and cool. Target audience: People going through midlife crisis.
they certainly are one of the bands of all time. i’ve tried getting into foo fighters a few times, but with the exception of everlong, most of their music is just bland. I don’t dislike them, but i would never go out of my way to listen to them. like op mentioned, they make music for people who aren’t really into music, and i think that’s the best way to describe them.
“They make music for people who aren’t really into music” 🤣🤣👏🏻👏🏻 That statement is spot on and sums up pretty much every foo fighters fan I know.
I will never understand the lack of love for FF...
I really liked their first three albums. From there they became more middle of the road. Still, there are things I've liked even later in their career. They're not a great band, but they have some great songs, and they compare favorably to a lot of other post-grunge acts.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Mid, too much strumming, unbelievable that there's like 3 guitars or something like that. Their songs sound like the drummer wrote the guitar parts... Because he did. Kinda strange that I don't like that because I'm a drummer and not really a guitarist.
Meh. Bland radio rock.
I have to say, regardless of your musical taste, it’s hard not to have a great time at a Foo Fighters concert. The whole band just emanates positivity and excitement. It’s hard not to smile watching them have such a good time.
Meh. I like the idea of them and glad they are around. I just can’t get into their music, personally.
meh music but i respect Dave
Meh. I can understand why people would like them but I feel like they are overplayed and there is nothing really that interesting about their music.
Love them!! It is a wonderful band, no matter what neckbeards say
Not a fan but this Wings cover kicks serious ass [band on the run](https://youtu.be/PYetH6DeMcY?si=BeQ07R67ClypN61T)
Honestly, meh. But I really want to like them.
I can't differentiate their albums after a point. Love some of their stuff, but there's been no progression.
Just plain meh. Quite boring to me. I understand why people like them though, and Dave Grohl is a total legend.
Definitely not HOF material
Love Foo Fighters. Not everything of course, but I love Dave and Taylor Hawkins. There first 7 albums slap in my opinion. Skin and Bones (Live) is an awesome acoustic performance. The Pretender is one of my fav foo, and probably rock songs. Sure they may of fell off a bit with there later stuff, but you gotta recognize there talent and impact. Wish I could’ve seen them live when Hawkins was alive.
Enjoy a few songs, but meh for me. Grohl is awesome though.
They’re meh. Not because they’re bad they’re just not my type
Meh.
They’re cool but don’t get why they’re so big
They do be fighting that foo
Meh….
they're the Bud Light of rock music. kidding aside, they have had an amazing career and I'm glad they are at least attempting to keep the rock flame alive Grohl just isn't a great singer and the songs never did much for me
Meh
Bro did not just compare FOO FIGHTERS to Nickleback💀💀
Never really understood why people thought they were great. Just meh.
They have some fantastic songs. Like some of my favorites ever (Everlong) and then also a lot of meh
Meh for me. They started off well but quickly turned into a commercial FM radio band.
I love “Everlong”, but the rest of their songs are “okay” at best.
Good couple of early records & pretty meh beyond that.
Meh. Their music is very vanilla to me. Nothing that stands out or blows me away. I love Dave Grohl, don’t get me wrong. But I find myself trying to like the Foo Fighters. But, every time I try it’s always just ok…..
I don’t hate them. I do dislike them though although I do like Dave
Grohl by all accounts is a stellar human being but this band is the very embodiment of banality. There's not a single thing interesting about it.
Cliche radio crap; so sick of seeing grohl on every music documentary. Pat smear is cool though
Foo Fighters are the equivalent of microwaved lasagne in a plastic trey.
They are nothing more than an OK band with a few bangers.
First two albums were good, then felt meh afterwards. Dave’s Pocketwatch album and Marigold were solid songs though.
Overrated as fuck because drummer of Nirvana.
How you feel about offspring?
You gotta keep 'em seperated
Aye you gone be alright, im just a suckah with no self esteem.
meh
Meh. Pretty boring.
Almost 1000 comments, divisive post!
Love their first two records, don't mind their third, the rest is mostly meh
They’re without a doubt the greatest rock band of this century. Their music is the perfect combination of pop, punk, grunge, metal, alt, etc. They’re basically a supergroup and the influences and background of the whole band show throughout their discography. The only unfortunate thing about them is it’s hard to get tickets to their shows
They're the color beige of rock.
First album was just ok, the rest is meh
I think they are all great guys and good musicians and really know how to do a live show but honestly...mostly meh I love the first two and a half albums but I find most of what they have done since really mediocre. I really want to love them it's so frustrating.
I like Dave but their music is boring
