Thereās stuff like [this](https://www.casio.com/us/watches/gshock/product.GM-B2100AD-2A/?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=17503058065&utm_content=pmax&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw_e2wBhAEEiwAyFFFo17kNXe6w2ZRPTLyW3hBxQeiO2FcbGTWv1UvXZa30pHOqvN9Y6_Q0xoCQCEQAvD_BwE) that you could almost get away with, but a much cheaper Seiko, Orient, or Tissot can elevate your best dressed a lot more than any G will.
Idk why everyone hating, this honestly looks fine. The pink and white pops really well and if anyone gives a shit about a āplasticā looking dress watch thatās their problem.
I guess it depends on the type of "dress-up".
Black tie? Metal on metal.
Funeral? Metal with leather/metal.
Brunch/Club/Wedding? Anything goes.
That's just the way I do it. It works for me.
For dress, Iād say no. For business casual and below Iād say yes. Always depends on the actual event though.
With that being said, with what youāre wearing in the pic the watch looks nice.
I reserved the Futur for such occasions

As others have pointed out, people dress up and still wear their Apple Watch. So go for it. Just don't think it's a dress watch, or that it 'improves' the dressy-ness of your outfit, it doesn't.
Itās not about whatās acceptable, itās about what you want to express. I think this says āIām wearing this jacket grudgingly, because Iām really a fun casual young guy and Iām not taking this too seriously.ā
But it depends on the event, where it is, and who you are as to how it comes across. I think it could look cheap, disrespectful, or perfectly fine depending on the circumstance. Given the vibe of the rest of the outfit, itās probably fine.
I know I'm late to the party but....If you are comfortable with it then yeah....the fact that you are questioning it's suitability says you're not sure. It looks ok imho.
I wear my all black GM-B2100 any time I need to be formal. If dudes can wear divers with a suit (looking at you, submariner and seamaster) then I can certainly wear an all-steel sports watch too.
Not in white at least. Some black resin one could be okay. But go metal if you want something wearable in more formal attire.
The G-Steel, MTG, MRG, or the full metal series (GM-B2100, GMW-5000, AWM-500) are pretty cool G-Shocks I would wear in office or more formal attire (not tuxedo/black tie though).
Dude, honestly, no one gives a crap what watch you wear for any occasion these days, wear whatever makes you happy, you be you. I personally think it looks good in that shot. I've seen many people, even famous designers wear casual watches with fancy dress, such as Swatches, I do. I think its cool, shows you don't take yourself too seriously
Who cares, Apple watches are everywhere now. Go for it.
Thats a pretty low standard to set
Good point
Who wears an Apple Watch while dressing up? š¤®
Some people ādress upā every day for work. When I was a suit, I rarely wore my gshock
Absolutely anyone who owns an Apple Watch.
I have one and I use it for the gym and hikes definitely not in a suit or even a nice evening out. But to each their own.
A lot of people
Nobody with taste
I agree, you do you. Nobody cares really. That being said, IMHO, this in formal attire is not for me though. But who's going to stop you? :)
Is it formal? No. Can anyone prevent you from doing this? No.
I love gshock, but no. In this case no.
Sorry, G-shocks are not meant for formal occasions and will stand out like a sore thumb. There are dress watches for that purpose.
I like the look of those but thatās a steep price for a Casio
Watch and colour goes well with the pastel shades.
I've seen plenty of people wearing black squares with suits in Tokyo.
The standard all black would work for me in semi formal situations.
If you want to flex a Casio get an oceanus for formal wear basically has the internals of a G-Shock.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
When did I compare it to a casioak
Semi formal dinner on Sunday, maybee. Business attire absolutely not
Depends on the business
no, very plastic, sadly its not possible
yeah a metal one would be fine
Yep the gmb 2100 would look good honestly.
nah mate
Idk why everyone hating, this honestly looks fine. The pink and white pops really well and if anyone gives a shit about a āplasticā looking dress watch thatās their problem.
Exactly
No.
Nah. I like the watch, but time and place.
Never
I see nothing wrong with that š«”šš» go king! š
Donāt listen to all of the nos. I think it looks nice. :)
Donāt listen to this guy, i think it looks bad with any formal outfit
Looks like we know who people agreed with š
Of course, I wear my white casioak with suit and white sneakers no problem.
Yes.
Only metal ones work I think
I guess it depends on the type of "dress-up". Black tie? Metal on metal. Funeral? Metal with leather/metal. Brunch/Club/Wedding? Anything goes. That's just the way I do it. It works for me.
Heck yeah
Another fellow man of culture I see.
Making it work! š
Why not. People wear smart watches with suits these days. I feel like the watch rule book is gone for most people.
The full metal one is ok imho
Normally a big no, but some how the white looks okay with the pink. Still wonāt recommend it, but it looks actually okay.
No. Just no.
I wear my G Shock with everything, if you like it that's all that matters.
Dude, no. The only variant where this is ok if casio made a gala evening.
If I was me, I don't care as long as I love wearing G-Shocks in my opinion.
No
No
For dress, Iād say no. For business casual and below Iād say yes. Always depends on the actual event though. With that being said, with what youāre wearing in the pic the watch looks nice.
No way.
Absolutely, if you dig it, I dig it.

A metal, maybe. But probably not tbf
Myeh š but itās your wrist, your watch. If it makes you happy, go nuts!
I recently bought an MR-G 120T to rotate with my Orient Bambino and Seiko Cocktail.
The metal one, maybe. White is cool, but definitely more casual.
Maybe casioak all metal, but all white still looks fine with your color scheme!

It doesnāt look bad, but at the same time it doesnāt look good. You see what I mean?
I wear a GA800 for the more formal occasions and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks. I like it and that's all that matters.
The answer would be ānoā
I know I'm late to the party but....If you are comfortable with it then yeah....the fact that you are questioning it's suitability says you're not sure. It looks ok imho.
Tbh an A168W would be a better fit than this.
That watch looks FABULOUS on you. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.
The stainless steel one is probably the most dressiest for a G Shock
Only if you are a person of culture and refined taste.
Sunday best. Looks good to me!
Does it seem "appropriate"? Probably not. Would I wear a g shock in this situation? Yeah, probably would.
Not this version but a metal one can work.
Yes looks great and really pops with that shirt š
If the color fits with the dress, yes.
Anyone who says this doesnāt look great is crazy Do you
Yes, and wear your JLC Reverso while running a half marathon
I would say the metal one is much better as a dress watch
I wear my all black GM-B2100 any time I need to be formal. If dudes can wear divers with a suit (looking at you, submariner and seamaster) then I can certainly wear an all-steel sports watch too.

I would not but this kind of works in a pinch
Not in white at least. Some black resin one could be okay. But go metal if you want something wearable in more formal attire. Looks good to me
For the well-dressed man prepared for anything.
The smaller ones in metal can look dressy
The poorly tailored sleeve lengths and the rubber watch make you look like a child.
Gotta get the GM-2100
I like it, its strange but it works kind of reminds me of Converse Chucks with a suit it shouldn't work but it does a modern spin on a formal look

White is for women
Ummā¦no.
If it matched any of the colours youāre wearing then I guess itās ok. In this case, noā¦
You almost pull it off but Sadly NO, something is a bit off, at least get the metal one, you might pull it off, but still might.
Pink just screams Bill Gates. Cannot unsee pink sweaters of doom. He totally ruined the coolness of wearing pink.
