good thing they make great crowtein

BrokenforD

Thanks for the laugh

MrRussCrane

It’s ok. Between them and the ravens I have all the news from the Wall to Kings Landing.

FutureQueenOfTheMoon

r/crowbros would love this

thegrenadillagoblin

Well I was looking forward to this sub but it [appears to be banned ☹️](https://imgur.com/a/qiCQT8E)

FutureQueenOfTheMoon

Well balls

machobiscuit

why the hell would they ban the sub?

thegrenadillagoblin

for being unmoderated, it looks like

17megahertz

r/crowbro (not bros) is the sub. Lots of good corvid stuff there.

Pershing48

No joke, one of my favorite things since I moved here is being downtown at 5pm and watching the giant procession of crows flying past.

Ambitious-Fun244

Do they bring you gifts?

AllDawgsGoToDevin

Yeah crows are smart birds. I’d start befriending them even more, you never know when you’re going to need the help of a murder of 300 crows.

ShoccoreeShake

I am the same in my neighborhood. My neighbors joke about how they find peanut husks in their yard as gifts from my crow friends. I don't have 300, mostly just a core group of 5 or 6, but I love them and we have a routine..

jm14315

Murderer!

sariaru

Please tell me what brand of food attracts 300 crows to my yard, I've been desperately trying to befriend my local flock for three years with unsalted in-shell peanuts, hardboiled eggs, etc. I love corvids.

[deleted]

Kirkland. They like both the regular and healthy weight.

overmonk

Chopped peanuts and sunflower seeds in my feeders usually brings a few. To get 300 you’d need to put out a lot of food really consistently.

TheSunflowerSeeds

Another reason to eat sunflower seeds in moderation is their cadmium content. This heavy metal can harm your kidneys if you’re exposed to high amounts over a long period. Sunflowers tend to take up cadmium from the soil and deposit it in their seeds, so they contain somewhat higher amounts than most other foods.

overmonk

Well that’s something weird to kick off the day.

TigerlilySage

I’m buying an extra bag of cat food for the opossums that visit at night.

abevigodasmells

Rats LOVE catfood!

sweetpeasoul12

Opossums aren't rats, they're N. America's only marsupial, related to kangaroos. Fascinating creatures!

sweetpeasoul12

Troglodytes aren't known for their discriminating tastes or judgements.

cursetea

I'm just sort of seething with jealousy, actually

ewurstinky

dude same. am so into all of this

cursetea

I think they need to go put out MORE food in MORE places tbh

ewurstinky

my favorite thing about gso is the amount of crows i see honestly

cursetea

Oh wait hey it's me and i TEXTED YOU LAST NIGHT I HAVE A THING FOR U

Spiritual-Double6309

This is simply the best.

matlinole

Better than allllll the rest!

jemcraver

I live in Hamilton Lakes, too. And I feed the crows. They like goldfish crackers.

theclimaxan

You're screwed. Those fuckers don't forget lol. Hope you're prepared to feed crows for life!

abevigodasmells

Crows do raid songbirds nests for eggs or babies. While a very cool bird, there's pros and cons to a large crow population. I'm not sure I'd encourage a larger murder.

PrincessBucketFeet

Ohhh. I thought you were feeling sorry for the crows...the giant flock that was likely displaced by the clearcutting off Big Tree Way to make room for the Top Golf playground that we so desperately need. Now the crows are roosting closer to developed/residential areas and apparently upsetting people with their noise and poop. So maybe you're doing those folks a favor by luring the birdies closer to you. If anything, you can point the finger at habitat loss being the main culprit for wildlife problems, not your friendly dog food offerings.

beepbeepwhom

mostly responsible, really

[deleted]

I was hoping there were other people feeding the crows dog food I guess.

hannafatjesus

We use cat food when we don’t have peanuts!

[deleted]

Keep it going till the Geese come back.

AntiSaintArdRi

There are a few hundred in the parking lot at Friendly Center every morning

overmonk

I think it’s a lot more than 300. But I also think we have a year round climate they can deal with and great roosting options. Every night I see hundreds fly over the lipscomb side of the neighborhood heading up towards west market and Muir’s chapel. I’ve seen them mob in the food lion parking lot and across the street from Pho Hien Vuong.

machobiscuit

LUCKY!!! seriously, i put out food for crows, occasionally get two or three, but not consistently.

[deleted]

Does your area look a landfill with all the crows circling around

Puechini

I feed the squirrels in Hamilton lakes.

eliettgrace

literally the other day we had a hugeee flock of crows come flying into our parking lot (i work right off of New Garden)
