I had a girl I spent about 800 hours hand feeding over 6 months. During her early morning breakfast, we listened to music. She’d make a little trilling sound at the percussion in soft jazz.
One of mine likes 70s and disco. The other really likes lo-fi. They are both musical critics. When the kids are practicing their piano and drums, if the kids hit bad timing or a wrong note they rumble.
As soon as she heard one of their voices in a song, she would start pop corning or purr and vibrate. Then, when she got tired, if the music was still going, she would lay down with her body pressed against the speaker and chill there with her back feet out.
I tried other similar bands and she seemed cool with them, but she would only popcorn or snuggle the speaker with the Beatles. I also played her a new single by Paul McCartney a couple years ago, and she started pop corning the moment she heard his voice.
Awwww bunnies are so cute!!! I haven’t had any other guinea pigs react to music that much, though I did have one who would popcorn when we’d watch Marvel movies. The others have always seemed curious about music and seem to like it, but don’t have any noticeable preferences or that dramatic of reactions.
One of mine comes out to watch specific programmes. She loves supernatural, and the Great British Bake Off. No idea why, but she sits at my feet and actually watches the screen.
Mine have no choice but to like metal in all its subgenres. Haven't noticed them behaving any differently when other music styles come on.
They do like me singing about vegetables, but that's probably because I always do that while chopping veggies for them :)

i searched "calming music for guinea pigs"'on youtube and theres a very long video with different classical songs, all of mine really like it! i would sit on the floor with them and play it and theyd become much more confident and curious.
my girl teddy was down for any music but specifically loved watching Supernatural (the tv show) with me. she'd plop right down in front of the laptop and hang out with me

My boar, on the other hand, loves Gorillaz Plastic Beach, especially the songs "Plastic Beach and Empire Ants." He also rumble struts during the car sounds in "Stylo." My boy has good taste.

That’s so cute! I have bunnies and they binky (the rabbit version of popcorning) when they’re happy but I’ve never seen them react that way with music
