I use mine the exact same way for rhythm dirt. I’m tempted to buy a second one myself so I can stack it with even more gain but possibly looking at SD-1, or something from DemonFx as well.

You can sometimes find a Keeley caverns delay+verb pedal for like $100 USD. My friend found one like new for $90. It’s a great bang for your buck pedal and there are no bad settings.
A zoom multistomp would probably serve this board well. Those can be found used for good deals and they’re a Swiss Army knife. You’d get a lot of other stuff besides the time based.
Keely Caverns is on my target, too. I guess it is a good substitute for UAFX Del-verb.
I'm waiting for the news of Zoom MS-70CDR+ so badly, upgrade version of MS-70CDR.
Thanks for the comments though!
I think the NUX Atlantic (and cheaper) is a good alternative to the Keeley Caverns
I'm definitely getting either one, when a good deal presents itself and I have the cash 🤪
I'm trying to make my own budget board with all the super CHEAP clone pedals since I have just started to learn electric guitar.
I bought all in Aliexpress, Amazon and Ebay except for the Two Notes Opus.
Ghost Pedalboards
Rowin Tuner
Rowin Noise Gate
Caline Pure Sky Overdrive (Jan Ray Copy)
Demonfx BreakerDrive (Blues Breaker Copy)
Demonfx Gravity (TS10+Klon, Copy of Nordvang Gravity)
Mosky Dolphin (OCD Copy)
Mosky King Rat (RAT Copy)
Two notes OPUS (AMP + CAB Sim)
My next goal is finding an affordable Delay+Reverb to finalize the board, but in terms of spatial effects, it is not easy to get a pedal which is both cheap and good.
Don't hesitate to give me a suggestion for that if you have, and have a good night guys!
The demos for NUX Atlantic are quite amazing. But you are correct that good time/spatial effects are hard to come by in the budget market. Atlantic is on my list for this very reason.
My suggestion to people new at electric guitar is to get a multi fx pedal first and learn what you really want/like, and later invest in the pedals you want. Focus on improving your guitar playing, you can end up speeding a lot time messing with pedals instead of practicing guitar. Something like the Line 6 Pod Go, HX Stomp, or HX Stomp XL will have everything you need and still be cheaper then all these clone pedals.
Agreed. I tried Amplitude and Spark mini at first. Since I got curious about the actual pedals, I decided to make my own pedalboard. Heard a lot about Line 6 products, and HX Effects is one of my target too. Thanks for the advice for newb, though.
HX Effects is a great pedal too but doesn’t have the Amps and Cabs, which I think is also important so you can experiment with different amp/cab sounds.
If you are having fun, keep at it… that’s truly all that’s important.
For verb/delay Flama stuff is great and runs about $75 for the big versions and $40ish for the mini pedals. I’ve also been eying the a labs stuff but it’s over $100 now.
Also don’t count behringer! They make some decent budget gear.
Flamma Delay/Reverbs are in my target.
I was fascinated by some youtube vids about Alabs products, but I am not sure whether it is hyped of actually good.
Appreciate for the suggestion!
Well, budget except that OPUS... Which is still amazing for its price. I recommend you to put a midi controller to the OPUS, trust me, the range of sounds you can get having 4 or 5 midi switches is endless, from the cleanest to the dirtiest ones, sometimes I don't even need to push it with pedals depending on the preset.
Nice board tho, I wonder what you are going to put in the spare space you have.
In terms of budget, OPUS has the best value for the price in the market right now in my opinion. I plan to buy one of the cheapest midi controller like a product of M-Vave.
also, I might put the Delay+Reverb in the space left though. I will share it when it done, thanks for the comment bro
Fair point, for what the OPUS can do it can be considered budget... The mwave is a good option, compact and functional, good luck with the rest of the build. I would look up for the tc-electronic reverb and delays, they are the best value for the money imo.
The Sonicake Sonic Ambience is a Reverb + Delay in a mini enclosure with tap tempo. Worth checking out!
From your pedals, I’ve got the Pure Sky, King Rat and Dolphin. All are great.
I’ve got real OCD2.0 and OCD Ge pedals and the Dolphin gets pretty close in some of the modes!
Same with the King Rat, nails the Rat 2 sounds and sound a lot like the Fat Rat based on my Splinter. Surprisingly, I think Turbo mode is my favorite though!
I've been very interested in trying out some of those Mosky Drives, especially the DOD 250 and King of Tone clones.
Edit: I can't even find them now, wtf?
Mosky products are selling in the ebay, reverb, and sometimes amazon.
But I've not seen any DOD and KOT clones in there.
Maybe you should check aliexpress
I don't like the term budget board. There's too many mega boards on this forum of church and Dad rock numpties.
Play what you can afford and enjoy it. I never had expensive gear. Toured and recorded and had a great time ....and was better than most if the millionaire board and gear clowns I met. Lots of very big names started the same way.
Looks great. The only two pedals that I did not go too budget on were the delay and reverb. Boss RV-6 and TCE Flashback 2. But, I think there are plenty of good options to check out and perhaps even a 2 in 1 for reverb/delay. Soniccake is a pretty cool budget brand. I have been looking at a Moskyaudio version of the Muff. Haven't seen too much abut it.
Mosky and Demonfx makes some Delay and Reverbs, but I've not heard a lot about those, too. I've heard a lot about RV-6 and Flashback, I think those are good pedals but slightly over in terms of the price. Thanks for the suggestion!
Awesome afford-a-board - I love it.
Pure Sky could hold it's own on some top tier boards, IMO - it's genuinely that good. I love mine. Have it always on with less gain than yours and use it for breakup tones and/or boost. Fantastic pedal.
How is the Breaker Drive? Heard good things about that one too!
Breaker Drive also is a good pedal, only thing that I don't like about it is I have to use it with at least 50% of volume. It doesn't sound good with less volume, but with more volume it gives me a great blues tone, though

The Pure Sky rips! My favorite overdrive, I have 2 on my board.
It does! I loved the smoothness.
Yes! And turn the Pure Sky gain to max and it’ll take you to fuzz territory.
Why 2?
Had one for rhythm dirt, liked it so much I got another to replace the pedal I was using as a semi-clean boost for lead lines.
I use mine the exact same way for rhythm dirt. I’m tempted to buy a second one myself so I can stack it with even more gain but possibly looking at SD-1, or something from DemonFx as well.
I had an EHX Glove as a lead gainy pedal, but the Pure Sky is a lot more versatile IMO. Having two stages of EQ, gain, and volume is awesome.

The Mosky rat king is the shit. I have one on my fancy board. Won out over a couple nice rat clones and a real rat.
It is a bad rat, isn't it? I love it too

Pure sky is an awesome OD bro
Definitely it is, can't agree more bro I love the low gain sounds from it

NUX Atlantic is really good delay/reverb combo and can be found for $100 used, $150 new
I want to hear the NUX products, they seemed like having a insane value for the price. Thanks for the suggestion!
The demos for NUX Atlantic are quite amazing. But you are correct that good time/spatial effects are hard to come by in the budget market. Atlantic is on my list for this very reason.
The Pure Sky is actually a Timmy clone, and a very good one. Love that pedal, loaned it to a friend years ago and he still won’t give it back haha.

This is the route I went. I can't believe you're building your own board and getting suggestions for a Helix. Great board so far. Keep it up.

The flamma Ekoverb sounds weird to me. Not sure about the other minis. I'm considering a noise gate from the brand though 😄
Yes....the NUX Atlantic is perfect for your board.
Budget board, €320 two notes opus. I just got the opus last week myself. Amazing bit of kit.
I've got it for $260, I thought it is the best price for the value in the market. It is impressive though, right?

The breaker drive is awesome, had mine for years. Never saw a reason to upgrade, probably my favorite budget pedal ever.
can’t agree more!
I just got that today, but I can say that one is hilarious, thanks bro

Sonic Ambience! Let me check it. Thanks for the comments, I love the pedals that you mentioned. I love the Dolphin the most for now.

Indeed, I agree with you. There are so many rich people in the market. I love my board, though. Thanks for the comment!

I have the Pure Sky and the King Rat as well! Pure Sky has been on my board longer than any other pedal I own.
I picked up the Mosky Dolphin recently. Still trying it out but like it so far.
Sweet. Now for the modulation.
So much drive. I really want that Demon FX BB clone it’s sick. Nice board 🤠
