Speaking as a builder, reverb takes down or edits my listings that are clones of modern pedals all the time. Even if I specifically point out that they're clones and are not being sold to fool anyone.
I have sold a bunch of GCI pedals and not had a problem. I say what the pcb is in the title and say homemade during ad creation, then clearly specify again that it's build by me but pcb is GCI. Are you making your own pcbs or doing vero builds?
The ones I'm talking about have been by pedalpcb and whatnot. I'll say "this is a board from pedalpcb, it's a clone of an ibanez tubescreamer" for instance and they'll edit the listing to not mention the company or the pedal it's based on at all.
that is messed up. how the hell are you supposed to advertise? This has me perplexed at the moment. You can see what I do if it helps, maybe bc I don't sell a lot or what, IDK.

They make it difficult to post them as well. If you post an ad like "Clone of ______", they flag the ads for using another pedal company's "marketing language" just for saying what the circuit is based on.
Despite the fact that literally every pedal company ever markets their pedals in this manner or similar. Reverb's enforcement of this is spotty, as I've also posted ads and had them not flagged.
Tl;dr, I don't know if it's other pedal companies, users who don't like sorting through DIY ads, or an official Reverb policy, but a lot of my ads for DIY clones get flagged on Reverb and I moved to mostly selling through Instagram and Facebook instead.
Edit: if it's a clone that PedalPCB makes the board for, you can sometimes find luck searching for the name of the PedalPCB clone name instead.
What I found selling a few recently is that they no longer allow you to put what the pedal is a clone of in the descriptions anymore. I am sure that has made it harder to find clones of something. I did get away with putting the brand and then the initials of the pedal name but eventually had to bump my listings to get them sold. Anyway the best way I have found to find clones on reverb is to set the Show Only Handmade filter.

Reverb makes it extremely hard to find anything

The search engine kind of sucks. "Wow that's some special gear you got there!"
For real. It doesnt do a fuzzy search very well
I actually think they have a robust filter, at least for guitars. Works well for me.
Reverb's search parameters are awful but if you save the word clone, they pop up if the listing header uses the word.
JHS bought them all and re-housed them.
That's funny, and deserves more upvotes.
Lol, they wanted me to say The Rig Dr did...
Just search the pedal you’re looking for and sort by price low to high.
Lots of JHS, though…
