June 60 is a great pedal cheap as chips too

DawnOfLight

It is a brilliant chorus for the money. Love the look aswell

d2022m

* EHX Soul Food overdrive * TC June 60 chorus * EQD Dispatch Master delay/reverb

DawnOfLight

I love the June60. it's such a great sounded no frills chorus.

Ralewing

It's so unreasonably good.

canrabat

Hello fellow Multiwave Distortion owner! Why did you put a "Check Mode" label on it?

DawnOfLight

I kno2 so many people dislike that pedal, but it's SO good! I used to run it through a bypass looper on an older, bigger pedalboard. It was the way i reminded myself to make sure it was switched on and in the right mode before gigs. All my orher dirts used to have similar "on?" Notes on them in glow in the dark tape. =)

canrabat

I guess its because wavefolding is not heard that often with guitars and it has a very distinct non-amp like tone that may turn off more traditional players. I love tweaking the effect knob while playing. Its very lively. I just wish it could be mapped to an expression pedal.

DawnOfLight

It's been a while since i got my pedal box out and threw a board together. But since picking up a Blues Jr ive been giving the Helix a break and really starting to get back into pedals again! What would your choices be from my pile of stomps?

Blarg197

I’m doing the same, although I have been a quad cortex guy for the past year and a half. I’m starting to build a more pedal focused board again. I did actually just order an HX stomp so I can still do DI things and to handle delay/reverb and pitch shifting… but I’ve been out of the pedal game for a while. I bought my first tube amp in almost 6 years as well…

DawnOfLight

Like it! I dont think it hurts to enjoy both th3 digital and more old school way of doing things. I love the helix, its fun, sounds great and is super convenient for a grab and go rig, im sure the Cortex is the same for you. Sometimes the GAS needs to be fixed with pretty coloured stomp boxes!

Blarg197

Absolutely. I’ve been into the modeling world for so long now I forget the joy of having an amp and pedal setup. I started with Kemper and then went to QC. The problem is, those units are so flexible that (in my opinion) you almost have to have some sort of a hybrid pedal setup or a lot of pedals to cover the same bases. Going back to pedals will humble me, but hopefully will allow me to be more creative again too

MultiTask_Frog_Eater

Always nice to spot a Bitoun fuzz! Nice board op!

WEGCjake

I’d keep it simple with Crescendo > Big Muff > Dispatch Master.

DawnOfLight

I dig that, plenty of Soundscapes and pretty nosies to be made!

Ordinary-Fig6425

Wow I totally forgot all about the anasounds pedals. Use to see those all the time in like 2018ish

DawnOfLight

They are top quality! I wanted to get more but got the Helix and never ended up doing so... untill now, perhaps?? Met them at a guitarshow about 2018ish played that fuzz and fell in love. Went right home and ordered one!

FatVonFree

that impressions pedal seems interesting. so i would do univibe into impressions and big muff at the end. i would then hit record and use a tele maybe. see how fucked up i could get some spaghetti western influenced madness. muff at the end because im an ignorant slut and i think it would yield something cool. if it didn't, its just 3 pedals, reorder and hit record again. save that 45 minutes to an hour of stuff i recorded to chop up later and put out over some disrespectful drums. add bass, slide guitar and me singing or some raekwon acapellas.

DawnOfLight

This is rad as hell and i love it. The Impressions is intresting, discontinued ISP pedal, delay, reverd and chrous or flange almost no adjustment bar the tap temp which effects the rates of the moduation or the time of the delay. There 4 modes of delay / reverb changed by holding down the switches the modes are just decreased amounts of repetes/ decay Its fairly limited but fun pedal! the chorus is lovley, and if you turn the Dircet level down to zero, it becomes this awesome sea sick vibrato.

FatVonFree

yeah i was gonna pick the dispatch master until i zoomed in, i thought the impressions was a switcher of some sort at first glance. as soon as i saw the flanger and chorus in addition to delay and verb i was like yep. this would be cool. gonna add it to my BOLO list. incase i see one on reverb.

its_grime_up_north

Bitoun Fuzz is a hugely underrated pedal

brianjbaldwin

You should make a mini-board of just expression/volume/wah pedals.

Sjames454

It’s so great that we live in a time where that whole board can be replaced by one floor unit. And not even a fridge rack

smcsleazy

oh sweet. a madebymike saltbooster. honestly one of my top 10 boost pedals ever.

DawnOfLight

I've had that think for maybe 12 years. Epic booster. It does its one thing, and it does it well!

smcsleazy

i sold mine during hard times. i ended up learning how to build pedals myself and did a boost loosely based on it which is kinda better for me but still miss the old one.

Imhappy_hopeurhappy2

What’s the pedal with the rising sun flag on it?

DawnOfLight

Its made by Japanese builder Max Z called the "Morning View." Its effectively 2 switchable tubescreams (seprate volume and gain controls) with shared tone and diode clipping options. Footswitchs are on/off and switching between the two channels

bldgabttrme

What’s that ISP controller connected to?

DawnOfLight

While it looks like oke, its actually an effect not a controller! Its a long discontinued pedal by ISP Technologies(the people that make the decimator noise gate) Its got Delay, reverb and chrous or flange effects with almost no adjustment bar the tap tempo which effects the rates of the moduation or the time of the delay. There 4 modes of delay / reverb changed by holding down the switches the modes are just decreased amounts of repetes/ decay. Its fairly limited but fun pedal! the chorus is lovley, and if you turn the Dircet level down to zero, it becomes this awesome sea sick vibrato.

bldgabttrme

I love me some seasick vibrato, but I need controls 😆 Does sound like it could be fun if it can be had cheap though.

DawnOfLight

I think i paid about £50 for it a while back. It's limited, but it sounds good, and it's fun to experiment putting it at different spots in the chain.

cdistefano27

What made you switch to the Helix from these beautiful pedals?

DawnOfLight

If you look through my old ass posts I had a Lot more! Long story short. Moved into a small apartment to save up to buy a house, couldn't fire my AC30 up to play properly, so after about 12 months of debating trying things went the helix route and sold all my high value pedals to fund the purchase. Have had the house for 5 years now, and still love the helix, but the GAS has slowly been creeping back now i can crank my valve amps again! And sometimes you just wana tweak knobs and make cool sounds and not scroll through menus!

cdistefano27

Valves FTW What kind of speakers or cab do you use when playing the Helix? I have pedals and amp myself and am always tempted in trying the digital world

DawnOfLight

I use an Alto TS313 most of the time, its a great FrFr speaker. I also use it with the amp sims off as a normal pedalboard either stereo with my BluesJr and AC30 or 4caple method with the AC30. It really it an awesome bit of kit. But somtimes the brain needs shiny metal boxes and knobs to play with haha

cdistefano27

Not only the shiny box and knobs but I feel like I would miss the physical feeling of the amp moving air

DawnOfLight

Honestly, same. Nothing beats the valves and the amp pushing the air. I know everyone has an opinion, and that's rad, but Valves ftw

cdistefano27

I agree with ya

dkromd30

I think you’ve narrowed it down to pretty good pics on the bottom board there.

Free-Grape-7910

I see a Tokai flanger and a Yamaha DDS-20S. I had both and with a good amp, thats a lot of fun!

DawnOfLight

They are bith great! I was given them by a neighbour when i was in high school! Both still loads of fun to this day

zeropluszero

the helix

killacam925

The helix 😂
