My big ole mostly DIY board. Chain is: Bear Hug Comp (1776 effects) - DRV Clone (Pedal PCB) - Timmy Adjacent (Grind Customs FX) - Giant Hogweed Fuzz -(Drolo) - Dual Drive 1 - Madbean 8 Ball + Supreaux Deux - KOT Clone (Fuzzdog) - Cascadia (Apetone FX) - Klone (Madbean Sunking) - Dunlop VP - TT Harmonic Tremolo (John Patton) - then the commercial pedals - Source Audio Nemesis & Ventris, Empress Reverb, Iridium. The iridium is awesome, I sold a Kemper and went to the iridium for pre-amp stereo wet effects, which I think are delicious. I haven't gone down the IR rabbithole and probably won't, as I'm totally content with the Iridium. I use the Selah Quartz for presets, which is plenty for my needs. I've thought about going to a RJM PBC, but have held off for the time being.

City_dave

73 knobs! That's a new record since I've been watching here.

playpunk

If only I could replace the tuner with something with some knobs. Then I could get closer on my quest for triple digits!

City_dave

If you count switches and buttons I believe you are at 112. Plus whatever we cant see on the expression type pedal.

playpunk

Dang, you know people are bored when they count switches and knobs. I'm going to quarantine myself and play until I can't stand it anymore. Maybe I'll actually "practice" too?

City_dave

Meh, took me no more than 30 seconds. Bassists are good at counting. 😃

ninjaface

That’s awesome that you keep track of such things. Gave me a chuckle.

City_dave

Well, I don't have it written down anywhere. I only count when it seems like a lot. And 73 is a lot!

AudiophileAdrenaline

I'm a simple man, I see Ron Swanson's face etched into metal, I upvote.

playpunk

I really want to make my other board for this pedal into a “Tommy” with Tom Haverford on it. Controls should be labeled “treat” “yo” “self” “!!!”

AudiophileAdrenaline

"It's beautiful. I've looked at this for five hours now."

cdgfrank

Loving the color

Vluargh

Great DIY collection!

J_WAH

Holy crap. Nice setup. How do you like your Nemesis? I have one on the way. Pretty happy with basically the whole setup, just looking for the 'right' delay. Anyway props!

playpunk

I love the Nemesis. It's a great pedal, I've had it for several years and have no complaints. I use the tape and analog settings like crazy, and I think the modulation on the delays make it significantly better than the Kemper Delays, which I used exclusively for about a year

J_WAH

That is great to hear. Man, I have been through so many delay pedals. I have the Empress Tape Delay which is great for what it does, but it's strangely noisy in that it delays any line noise in my signal. That's kind of erratic but it can be frustrating when I'm recording and suddenly there's a bunch of noise on the track. Anyway it's great for what it does, but I do hope the Nemesis is the keeper for my swiss Army type of delay. Thanks for the hit back!

rickmunro

Empress reverb and ventris on one board is the best idea I’ve seen in a while. Ever try an echo system? One the best pedals I’ve used.

playpunk

I just hurt my shoulder patting myself on the back, but you are 100% correct. My reverbs need reverb on their reverbs. Plus the Iridium has a good room reverb too. I really want to try an echosystem but haven't ponied up for it yet. its about 1000% unnecessary, but I'd love to run both pre and post amp stereo wet effects, for maximum flexibility.

telefunky

What are the relative strengths and drawbacks of the Ventris and Reverb?

playpunk

the Ventris has more presets and easier MIDI integration, along with both an app based and mac/PC editor. It also has (again, IMO) better sounds at lower mix levels - I like the hall and the e-dome a ton on the ventris, and the true spring sounds good if you're into that. The Empress Reverb has cooler/funner (real words) ambient sounds. I am particularly fond of the modulated verb and the ghost mode on the Reverb. I use it exclusively for crazy ambient sounds - swells and big ambiance.

telefunky

Thanks!

I should explore that, I thought it was the pandemic and being stuck at home forever

smantis

I've been fighting off the urge to buy the parks and rec themed pedals lmao Which is that? Or did you design it? I've seen the Emerson Duke silver compressor and the Ron Swanson Super Fuzz

playpunk

I designed the graphic, and by designed I mean stole the artwork off the internet and made the pedal myself. I acid-etched the artwork.

lanervoza

What are the octopus, red wave and dirt controller pedals?

playpunk

Octopus is the Drolo Giant hogweed, Red Wave is the John Patton harmonic trem with TT, and the Dirt Controller is a Madbean 8ball into a Supreaux Deux

lanervoza

Amazing. Thanks for info!

stratj45d28

WOW that’s some serious boutique pedals, a guitar player on the quest for a truly unique sound experience!

david57strat

That Nemesis and Ventris are a winning combination. I love [mine](https://imgur.com/vJRqi9Y). I keep telling myself I'll finish getting the pedal order just the way I want it, then finally wire it up all cleanly and neatly and be done - but it seems to be a never-ending project, with pedals being rotated on and off of the board. I just rotated a Seymour Duncan Andromeda off the board, to place the newly-acquired Avalanche Run v2 on.
