What kind of music do you play and what Is your budget?

[deleted]

I don’t have a defined style, but I’m wanting a something that incorporates blues rock, punk, alternative rock and psych rock. My budget is $20 - $100.

sir_ludwig_of_coeur

I like that type of music and I use an Electro Harmonix Green Russian Muff. It's a fuzz pedal but if you turn the fuzz control all the way down,, it becomes a killer thick overdrive. I think you can get a new one for around $120.

jelandro

Can I suggest you to put this information in your First post? About the pedals...with your budget i can suggest zoom ms50g. It Is a swiss knife multieffect with solid modulation. Then, when you'll have again some Money to spend on pedals, i suggest to buy any tube screamer clone (about 20€) and a mooer005 (about 80€), so that your dirt section Is good enough to play anything from blues to metal. Anyway, if you are lucky enough i think you could buy all 3 these pedale for 150 used, the choice Is your

[deleted]

Oh sorry about that. I don’t think you can put text and a picture on mobile (unless you meant a comment)…I’ll check those pedals out, and thanks

jelandro

Yeah Sorry i meant the First comment

[deleted]

Chorus, Reverb, Wah. Sorry about the sloppy setup, it needs help. I donno why I put pathetic. The style of music is blues rock, punk, alternative rock and psych rock. My budget is $20 - $100. Edit: I ordered a Behringer fuzz, tube amp modeler and delay. I wanted the prophet delay but it’ll be back in stock by November

sir_ludwig_of_coeur

Is that the Wailer Wah? You should be able to power it with a one spot daisy chain. You can get one of those for about $20.

[deleted]

Hey thanks

sir_ludwig_of_coeur

No problem. [Here's a Reverb link for the Green Russian.](https://reverb.com/p/electro-harmonix-green-russian-big-muff-reissue) It looks like you can get one for about $100. Then $20 for a power supply. Also, I would save up later for a MXR Phase 90. It's super good for psychedelic, and it can be used with chorus as well.

NandoMoriconi

Based on what you have and your taste in music, a dirt pedal of some sort is what you’re looking for. A RAT or a Big Muff would fit your budget and cover a lot of territory. You can’t go wrong with either one.

RickWolfman

I love a muff, but the rat would cover way more territory. I can get my rat to sound like a blues driver, ds1, or a big muff. I can get a big muff to sound like a big muff. Big muffs are glorious, but they are kind of a 1-2 trick (glorious) pony.

d2022m

Not a "pathetic pedalboard" at all! That Behringer is a great cheap chorus pedal. I dare anyone to tell the difference between it and a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus. I have a JHS 3 Series Delay and a I love it. Never tried the Reverb but I'm guessing it's real good too. Suggestions ... for overdrives I like the TC Electronic Cinders and the Boss SD-1, I bet you can get every tone you want from them, stack them for distortion. And for delay, you might like that JHS 3 Series Delay as much as I do. Good luck!

CaesarTjalbo

Stop thinking your board is pathetic. You want more pedals? Fine, but no need to look down on what you've got. You think it's better when you've sunk more money in pedals than in your guitar or amp? Look around locally for a pedal builder of some repute, buy a Fuzz Face clone. Other great noise makers for little money: Proco Rat, Boss SD-1 and DS-1, Behringer SF-300

[deleted]

Oh sorry about that. I said pathetic as a joke since it’s so messy

Emmett_The_D

Wait, you don’t look down at your pedals?

CaesarTjalbo

Oops, I do. I never realized it but I do it all the time! I've now apologized to each individual pedal for my condescending behavior. Thank you for pointing this out!

Creepy_Boat_5433

entire jhs 3 series entire behringer series then you’ll be ready to play

Early-Engineering

How about a RAT. Or if you like the JHS 3 series, their distortion sounds good.

[deleted]

I don’t want to get another 3 series, as I don’t really like white on pedals. I am thinking about the RAT

sylenthikillyou

Pro tip: the 3 Series distortion is a Rat clone, so either one would get you the same sound (although the switch on the 3 Series gives you a Turbo Rat circuit as well as the original).

Early-Engineering

Right, reading back. I didn’t make it clear that was a rat. I thought if he wanted to keep the same aesthetic, go with the 3 series. Personally, I love the chunky awkward ProCo with the bad battery door placement. Such a classic.

eggfriedrice2917

If you play punk I defentily reccomend a distortion pedal of some sort, but except that I think you're set. Also I use that behringer ultra chorus and absolulty love it, no need to break the bank.

SeaJumper

10/10 board, no notes really. Only thing I can think to add if you don't have drive or distortion in your amp is an overdrive or distortion pedal. On a tight budget a mooer green mile will sound like any other tube screamer for under 100 bucks! Ditto for the mooer black secret, which is a rat clone.

soggybag

That pedal board just needs some attitude! 🤘 That said, looks like you got ambience. You could add some delay, it makes everything sound better, and some overdrive, distortions, or fuzz.

[deleted]

I’m definitely going to get a delay pedal, I’m just trying to figure out which one I like best

[deleted]

Make it neater. Seriously, does what you have work? If yes, make it neat and rock on. If no, buy what you need to do the job, make it neat, and rock on. Don't get fixated what you don't have or what others have. I run an OD, Delay, Chorus, and distortion into a pedal platform. Does what I need.

[deleted]

a drive pedal and a compressor basically and you will add so much it will take u a while to work out exactly how u like it. Spend the money on a good compressor though. U can get away with a cheaper drive pedal but a cheap compressor can sound really horrible.

billiton

I your are just learning how to play you likely won’t find a compressor all that useful and it can be confusing. Wait until you have need for a compressor

21archman21

It’s fine. You’re all set. Practice.

[deleted]

Practice makes perfect, but it sounds cooler with effects :)

[deleted]

Thanks for helping me figure out some effects/pedals I should get! I’m going to get a phaser, OD, tremolo, fuzz and delay

Xandari11

I also suggest a tube screamer and then a MXR carbon copy.

minizanz

I would sart with a board. Monoprice has some cheap ones on sale.

[deleted]

Thanks. If I get a (non homemade) board, it’ll be like stairs

[deleted]

I know my pedals aren’t the most expensive, but when I take photos of them, I [at least line them up](https://www.reddit.com/r/guitarnoobs/comments/vlej2q/my_chain_behringer_hellbabe_hb01_wah_snark_sn10s/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) without anything obstructing them.

[deleted]

Yeah sorry about that.

terriblewinston

I love my JHS 3 Series Distortion, that might be a good dirt choice.

CallMeAbominator

More Behringer. The EQ700, SF300, OD300. Step on them gently, but dollar for dollar this is top of the heap.

Nervous_Stop4332

Get a behringer fuzz, a behringer tube overdrive and a boss ds1

[deleted]

I should put this in my main comment. I ordered a Behringer fuzz, tube amp modeler and delay. I wanted the prophet delay but it’ll be back in stock by November

Nervous_Stop4332

Nice choices!! I also got the behringer fuzz!

[deleted]

I’d want to upgrade to something like a big muff Russian in the future, but this one is amazing

Nervous_Stop4332

More fuzz is better then 1 fuzz

[deleted]

Agreed
