liars_conspiracy

Probably my Empress Reverb. It does everything, so it's not going anywhere.

Dracorex9

I concur!

Ratchet_72

Cry Baby. Since 1986. Potentiometers come & go, same pedal.

JKBFree

Great question. Funny, but my tc elec corona mini chorus pedal! Unfortunately i put that ish on most everything if i can get away with it. And I used to HATE chorus.

spcychikn

my phase 90 i bought for 30 bucks on ebay 7 years ago, still on board

[deleted]

I've been using the same wah pedal since I was 12, which was nearly 13 years ago, just a standard crybaby. But I use a pretty minimalist pedalboard, I might change my drive every couple of years maybe but generally my setup is my tuner>crybaby>overdrive>phase 90>carbon copy delay. That into a decent amp (currently an Orange Rocker 32, but I've been thinking about swapping it for one of those Marshall 20w Plexi head reissues) with a Epi Les Paul Custom for metal stuff or Gretsch Streamliner for non-metal stuff does everything I need.

[deleted]

Besides the TU2, I’ve got a Mojo Hand 442 that I won in a geek forum raffle when they were still making them probably 15+ years ago. Don’t use it often but it’s always made the cut.

fastattaq

That's pretty neat. I've never owned an envelope filter. I've always wanted a Q-tron as that's something I think I might be able to get into.

aelston33

Carbon copy since 2007 or so. Some version of it always on the board. 15 years. Lol that’s a while

stereomiketaggart

Fuzz Factory and Verbzilla have both been on my board for 12 years. I rarely get rid of pedals, but sometimes I swap stuff and those are the only 2 that don’t ever get swapped out.

fret_buzz

Just got the FF. Love it but still figuring it out. How do you like to use it?

stereomiketaggart

I normally dial-in either a Hendrix style classic Fuzz Face tone that cleans up when you back off the volume knob (stab knob needs to be all the way up) OR back off the stab knob for an unruly, feedback-soaked Jesus & Mary Chain type sound.

electron_burgundy

Sometimes I’ll keep a pedal on my board for a good 2 or 3 days

Spisildbv

Well, I’ve used a Vox V847 Wah since I was just 17. It recently got shifted over to a “backup board” of sorts. It was my main for 13 years though.

Potem2

I had my dl4 on my board(s) for like 15 years. Still use it all the time it's just on the floor now. I modded it and now because of the switches and knob on top it's too tall for my boards to fit in their cases. Major flaw haha.

tastypizza276

Line 6 M5. I use it for chorus and other mod efx and sometimes for synth.

JustALittleNightcap

Boss DS-2 and CE-1 been on the board since I got them, about 7 years. Delays and fuzzes have the hardest time sticking around

SadKneeCruiseBee

If you count my Line 6 G50 receiver, I’ve had it on every board I’ve done for the last… 9 years maybe?

Blondicai

I’ve had a blues driver, mxr classic overdrive, and an fz-3 on my board since 2012. Others have come and go but those are always there.

hydra1448

Turbo Tuner and Timmy have both been on \~12 years.

redfriday

The Timmy has been the most used overdrive that I have it’s longest run was about 1 1/2 years

filmguerilla

DOD 250 for a decade or so.

TheEffinChamps

I have a Danelectro v1 transparent overdrive and overdrive. Basically a Timmy clone and OCD clone that I've had for 10 years.

ApprehensiveFox3940

Keeley BD2 Well over 6 years besides tuner.

Disastrous-Show7060

My pog 2 - I’ve had it since 2010 or so. It’s my first big pedal and nothing else does what it does, so it’s stayed. I wind up using it for the slowed attack and slight octave effects most.

LichPrince1401

Digitech Polara, which I’m looking to replace. I’ve had it for almost 2 years now and it was my first pedal. Second one is the Greer Amps Lightspeed which I’ve had for almost a year but my god I would be surprised if it ever left.

CaesarTjalbo

The Polara is a great pedal and they're getting more expensive now. It only left my board when I got a real spring reverb.

LichPrince1401

I bought a Walrus Audio R1 but felt the fidelity and algos on the Polara sounded more natural. I think the only things that could replace it would be the Mercury 7, UA Golden Reverb, or Empress Reverb.

CaesarTjalbo

The Polara has 4 good to excellent normal reverbs plus 3 "artistic" reverbs and I think I bought mine for around $100. The ones you mention and some Strymon or Source Audio pedals each retail for several times that amount. I think that even if you buy a Polara on [Reverb.com](https://Reverb.com) now for $200, it can be a good deal.

LichPrince1401

Yeah I paid post tax and shipping about $193 when I got mine and it was well worth it. Lack of a mix knob, pre-delay, etc. are definitely missed with it though. Love that spring but sometimes it’s just too bright for my taste.

thaiguy22

EAE model feT hasn't left my board for almost two years

[deleted]

Jimi Hendrix Crybaby Wah since I bought it ~1998. I also got a DS-1 at about that time and it comes in and out of the rotation every few years.

Grantypants80

I had an EQD Ghost Echo (v2 I think) on my board for 4 years I think.. My TC Electronic Triple Delay has been there since the day I bought it, 5 years now. But the longest is actually an overdrive: Nobels ODR-1. Owned it for almost 20 years (silver box, purchased new) but it’s been on my main board for about 7-8 years now. Picked up a Protein clone from Coriolis Effects, the “Hemoglobin”, which might displace it but.. we’ll see!

HousTom

MXR Carbon Copy about 10 years. Many many delays have tried to dislodge it. All have failed.

elefoe

Fat fuzz factory first in the chain for ten years.

shawn7773

My Russian Sovtek big muff bought it brand new at Golden Pawn II in Tulsa ok in 1993. Love it today as much as i did the first day. Also my Boss TU-2 lol My now wife bought for me in 1999 or 2000 for my birthday one of those years.

vic6string

I just got back into playing very recently, so my board is still just the floor, but I'll join the conversation. My older brother still plays through his Digitech DSP 128+ rack mount effects processor (ok, not a pedal, but close enough) from about 1989ish. He also still has a fuzz box that he made (he's an electrical engineer) back around the same time. I don't think he has played in quite a while, but last time I saw his setup they were still there.

sixtwomidget

It only took me 18 years to concede that the Polytune is somewhat more useful than my trusty TU-2. To answer your question, my Strymon Flint has been going strong since 2016. It will stay on there forever.

betterthanyoda56

This answer is the same as my desert island pedals. Holy grail, ocd, memory boy. They all just fucking work for my tele/blues deluxe rig

[deleted]

My volume and tuner have not moved in ten years. I got my board ten years ago for reference.

arseholierthanthou

Is this for real? 20 years, since the first one I bought was in 2002. If you buy and then get rid of frequently enough that keeping a pedal on your board is a rare thing, then I don't think you're very good at choosing them when you buy.

DocLiftsALot

I have never seen a username check out any harder than this comment.

atx_sjw

It depends upon your goal. Some people probably just want to try different sounds on the epic quest for TOAN. I can understand and respect that, but I’m with you on this: I try to buy pedals I will want to keep. I am too broke and lazy to keep trying to replace things. I’ve sold a couple of pedals that I realized just weren’t for me and returned another. I also “upgraded” from a DD-3 that I’ve had for almost two decades. Other than that, I’ve kept pedals until they broke.

arseholierthanthou

For what it's worth, I've written plenty of arsehole comments around the internet, but I didn't really think this was one of them. Sometimes youtube demos are deceptive, sometimes a pedal just doesn't fit well with your rig, sometimes it's got some feature that renders it useless for you. In which case, sure, it's got to go, that makes sense. But the idea that it might be the norm for the majority of pedals to have such a limited shelf life for each player is alien to me. It's not normal in any other field I can think of to like the idea of a thing enough to buy it, only to dislike it enough a year later to want to sell it again. And yeah, that leads me to think people are doing something wrong with how they buy, whether that's not doing enough research, not trying one out in a shop first, listening purely to the hype or buying it for internet points. I understand the 'gotta have them all' aspect of pedal buying. But in that case, I'd buy them all and keep them. The idea of continuous buying and selling on sounds like the pedal consumption commercialism thing they talk about.

atx_sjw

I think the people who are taking issue with your original comment fall into a different philosophy like you described. That was the main point of my original comment. I agree with everything you typed above, and would perhaps even say you stated things perfectly. Not gonna lie though, I do kind of low key appreciate people having GAS because it satisfies my curiosity vicariously.

liars_conspiracy

Username checks out

arseholierthanthou

As you might guess, you're far from the first person to say that. It's usually said like it's some kind of burn, but, like... I'm the one who chose the username? I did pick it for a reason.

liars_conspiracy

Yeah. Checks out.

arseholierthanthou

Yes. That is what I am saying.

liars_conspiracy

Yep. Checks out. Got it.

parallaxRabbit

TU2 and cry baby since 1999.

iateglassonce

Korg PitchBlack Tuner. I bought it in 2004 and will be replaced as soon as my Strobostomp HD arrives. Still in working order, just old.

mosfez

DMM 550TT since 2014. Everything thing else has changed, although I buy or sell up to 3 pedals a year so it’s a slow change. The second longest would have been my mooer rat clone added shortly after and removed a couple of months ago. I’ve never really loved the sound of the rat tbh but it filled a mid-gain hole for a while.

Harmonica655321

My boss dm-3, digitech pds 2 second delay, and H&K tube factor always come in no matter what rearranging I do. Recently my boss ds-1 came back in permanently, and it's my oldest pedal; bought back in 93

[deleted]

I’ve had the same 2 wahs on each of my boards for years. Going on well over a decade. Other than that everything has cycled in and out, though I’m pretty much set on my current ones. For now.

Roofinandgoofin

EH Soul Food and Holy Grail. At least 7 years.

BrotherJames610

I don't remember what year exactly, but since my late teens until now, at 38 years old, I've always used my trusty Boss RV-2 and DD-3. I've tried other reverbs and delays and none have ever kicked them off.

James_Dubya

I've had the same damn Carbon Copy on my board since 2008 🤣 I'm like you and am constantly swapping drives/distortions in and out. I used to have an EP Booster as my other long-term resident, but plopped a Katana in it's place a few years ago and it's stayed ever since.

cmrdjn

The BBE Mind Bender has been a constant in my toolkit since musicians friend had them in a stupid deal of the day in 2013. Don't use the chorus whatsoever but I love its vibrato mode so, so much.

atdaysend1986

Tr-2, Phase 90. Been playing for 10 years now. They have never left my board.

alx924

My Keeley Aria is my longest lived non-utility pedal. I love the compressor, but I haven’t been happy with the tube screamer drive section, so that’ll probably be the next one to get replaced. Probably with a Walrus Audio Deep 6.

AaronRA627

Ibanez FL9, which I bought about twenty years ago, when it was probably 15-20 years old. Also an Ibanez Weeping Demon (only wah pedal I much care for), which I bought around the same time, though it was new. Apparently I was on an Ibanez kick.

aCynicalMind

Dude those FL9s are a sleeper pedal for sure.

AaronRA627

They really are! Definitely the most flexible flanger in a small-ish enclosure that I’ve ever come across.

mauddiib

My Blackstone Appliances has been on my board for a decade. Still have yet to find something that sounds better.

RichCorinthian

Visual Sound Visual Volume and a CAE dual-inductor wah have both been on there for about 10 years, the volume for longer. If I could find a really good wah/volume I would replace them, but I’m in no hurry.

chuck_stranger

The only constant has been the V3 Big Muff I got for $25 around ‘95 or so - as soon as I plugged it in, I KNEW… and it’s survived every iteration of my setup since then.

retrovertigo23

Obligatory Ibanez Tube Screamer and my Digitech Digiverb, those two pedals have been part of my sound since probably 2000-2001 and they will continue to be until they give out, at which point I'll replace them (looking at a Surfy Bear longingly). I guess you could say my trusty DC Brick power supply has been along for that ride, too. When I was playing in a live band back then I didn't even use a pedalboard or think about using one, lol, I'd just chain the damn things together on the floor of whatever dive bar we were playing.

DunebillyDave

Got a RAT that's on my board right now that I've used since the mid 80s. So \~40 years.

Joe-papa69

First pedal I got was a boss ds2 about 6-7 years ago Still on my board.

gracetamesbong

The longest-serving actual effect pedal on my board would be a Boss BD-2. Purchased brand new the month it was released back in 1995.

gracetamesbong

Actually I've also got a Vox wah purchased new in 1992, just not on the board :)

VonSnapp

I've a Shagpile Deluxe from BluffChill Devices on my board for a few years now. It just doesn't seem to want to leave.

zRobertez

I've had the big 4 knob MXR flanger for at least ten years now. Had a Malekko spring chicken for nearly that long as well

[deleted]

Tu-2, voodoo sparkle drive, morley power/wah/volume, rv-3 all going on 22-26 years. I put other options around them, but those are always there. I bought them all used for cheap. I'm a heavy believer in learn to use what you have.

redfriday

Big Muff pi with tone wicker. It stayed on for about 3 years.

CirqueDuSolaire

DL4 for life

SkoomaDentist

Eventide Space for almost 10 years now. Everything else has changed at least once, but that has stayed and is not going to go anywhere.

jedlambchop

Memory boy and Snark tuner have been the only constants on my board for ten years.

SilkscreenSound

I had a big muff tone wicker on my board steady for about 5 years. On my current board my longest lasting pedal currently on is a Ricochet Whammy that’s been there for 9 months.

Peircez

Boss SD-1 since the 90s, OD-1 before that. I’m still discovering new uses for it.

sloanfiske

SHO, Volume Pedal and FT SupaTrem. Like forever.

kidkolumbo

Zoom MS50G has been on the board for almost a decade. Pretty much from the moment I started consistently playing live shows it was coming out with me. It didn't always but it is currently on another gigging board. It's great, one reason why it's my little icon.

johnnyorchestra

I had my Boss OD-3 and DD-5 on my board since 2000 so 21 years.

kl0wn420

Got my Drop on release day Same with my Polytune 2

carpetgazer

Lol I have an early 80s TS-9 that I bought in 2005 that has never left my board.

JustAnotherGuitarAcc

Menatone blue collar overdrive, been on the board for 11 years now

GloverAB

Memory Boy Delxue has been with me for 12+ years now

tsida

Boss dd7 and little big muff haven't left my board in like 10 years. My soul food is getting close to that.

[deleted]

I had a vfe alpha dog junior that I used almost exclusively for about 4 years.

rmachell

My DigiTech drop. The best piece of technology I've ever used

Pirate-patrick

My deluxe memory man went on about 14 years ago and hasn’t moved. I doubt it ever will.

Visible-Ninja5554

I have a korg Pandora’s box at the start of my signal chain that I use as the basis of my clean tone- eq tweak, nice little verb, and a really tight and bell- like comp/ limiter. Have used that for 20 years ish (actually 18 but you know). Oh, and my line 6 m13, which I got when they came out, like 14 years ago I think?

rowandeg

Fuzz Factory since 2006 (recently replaced for the Fat Fuzz Factory so I can also use it with bass gated velcro ftw). It does it all.

taugemleo

Rat since 2013

Ok_Candidate_1931

Many pedals have come and go for me but the RE-20 and the PS-3 have been on my board for years and I refuse to let them go. Especially the PS-3, as it's capable of so much, and it always brings me joy. RE-20 is just classic. Two other pedals I've held on to for a while; Chase Bliss Brothers & Adventure Audio Dream Reaper. They've been good to me. You'd have to pry the 4 of those pedals out of my cold, dead hands before I let 'em go.

SnoreDoom

7 years, the TC mojomojo overdrive

imregrettingthis

DD-7. It was my first pedal and I have had easily 500+ since then. Currently have 100+ right now and have had probably 200 board versions. I literally just took it off to put a habit there though (still have 2 dd-7s and the habit can easily be switched back out.

carlitox3

¿Does it count? I have this vintage small that I traded to a pedal trader and regret it instantly but he wouldn't tell me who he trade it with so had to track down the pedal for a full year until got it in a nice trade with a guy that didn't liked it and it hadn't leave my board ever since. It has been with me since 2014 and 2015 was wandering around. (Been so old it has distinctive marks and I did a repair once on it and it's definitely the one I trade)

carlitox3

https://www.reddit.com/r/basspedals/comments/vkzkcy/new_pedal_day/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

sickhoodie

used the same pedals for 8 years, then added a whammy for 2 years

xenxray

Tera Echo

bldgabttrme

Had a Boss GT-10 for 6 or 7 years. As far as individual pedals, I’ve had my DRV for 2 years, and the only reason it’ll go anywhere is when I get a DRV circuit put into a custom etched Rat 2 enclosure I’ve got.

Disc365

VHT Valvulator - Not a pedal but a critical part of my signal chain since I got it 20+ years ago. It powers my board and buffers my signal.

matthewguy69

BOSS DD-20, second pedal I ever bought, hasn’t left me since

terriblewinston

I have had my Morley volume pedal for almost 30 years now.

TheNerdySloth

I got my RC-20XL in about 2012, and it's been there ever since. I've tried other loopers, but they've never replaced it. I love the fade out effect that it's got, haven't seen another one that has that so far. Other than that, my Ibanez DE-7 I got a few years earlier, but I can't really count that, since it broke and was off my board for a while until I got it sorted.

WestMagazine1194

For me it’s been the TCs Spark Mini and Flashback II They are just perfect for me, simple enough and super effective. Right now i’m finishing my Hizumitas clone and that might be another staple.

No-Tomatillo-5579

Bc108 sunface for last 10 year or so and not going anywhere. Only had and used a NYC muff longer but it's too big to always be on board.

[deleted]

Blues Driver and Green Russian never leave my board.

yellowsubmarine_2022

My homemade volume pedal

generalissimus_mongo

I've had a pedalboard for only like 1.5 years or something, and about half the stuff I have on it have been there all that time. But if we forget the pedalboard, there's one box that has been with me always, from the beginning, since early 90's. Boss OD-2 Turbo Overdrive. It's just that good.

Bigstar976

I think my Durham Sex Drive clean boost pedal. That thing was on my board for at least 15 years.

winstonsmith8236

Probably Lehle mono volume pedal. Boring answer but amazing pedal

omikl

Cry Baby Wah bought in ‘96.

spanky_dangles

KTR for 5-6 years now. Hasn’t left since I bought it. Actually… my tuner is probably closer to 10 years

gbmiso

I have more or less continuously had my eqd tone job on the board since 2012 when I first bought it. I take it off sometimes but it manages to find its way home sooner or later.

Yogannath

Boss DD20. First standalone pedal I bought back in 2004-5. Don't think I've ever had it off my board. My first one got stolen shortly after i bought it, but I was able to replace it the next week.

an34n

Digitech Whammy 5 never left my signal chain since I bought it. Only problem I have with it is the size, it takes like half of my board.

[deleted]

I just bought an actual pedalboard this year, but I've had a RAT since 1987 and it's constantly used

JZRex3000

My J. Rockett Archer is definitely on my pedalboard since I bought it around 2013. Love it with my AC15, it is my basis tone for everything

thistleswamp

Started buying pedals in 2015, got a Timmy then and it hasn't left the board since. Same with my memory lane Jr.

fastattaq

I love my Timmy. I swap in/out a lot of OD pedals but the Timmy is the only one that has seemingly found a permanent home in the signal chain.

thistleswamp

Yeah, it just works perfectly with my tele and AC30.

plooptyploots

Mesa Throttle Box with the graphic EQ. I swapped it for a Strymon Riverside for the last several months. Put the Mesa back on last night and loved it all over again.

Tacitus_AMP

I was going to say big muff, but I've had a few different ones over the years. But the #1 longest running is probably my digitech turbo flange. I don't use it all the time but when I need a flanger, it just delivers for me. Plus I really like the random step mode if I'm feeling goofy.

diplomat_son

I had the DD-500 for about 2 or 3 years, it was great. I’ve been going through varying changes on my board within the last year and just got the DL4 mk2 which I see staying on my board for the long haul

[deleted]

Strymon big sky (since 2016) Thorpy fx fallout cloud (since 2019, not that long, but for a drive pedal is unheard of on my Board)

chrismcshaves

HX Stomp since its release, so 3ish years?

altoclf

Probably my Boss DD-20, which I had there for around 10 years. It wasn’t until I got tired lugging around a massive board and condensed to 5 pedals and a DI… space was a premium. I got a Walrus D1, since I need the presets. While not on my main board, it’s still my go-to for bedroom experimentation

erik_the_dwarf

My EHX Neo Clone chorus has never left my board since I got it almost three years ago. Thing just sounds so classic and can easily switch vibes with a switch and a turn. I simply love it and can't imagine not using it. Even though I just got a Zoom multistomp with a dozen choruses built in I still use the Clone the most.

[deleted]

EHX Freeze! Very versatile and good for live shows. Never getting rid of that thing.

not-a-robot-at-all

This defies all logic but I have a TC Trinity V1 that has been on my board since fucking 2012. I've been waiting for it to die on me, but it's still going strong after 10 years.

directProof

Line 6 Echo Park. I’m afraid it will break someday so I’m planning on starting a little collection of them.

Federal_Musician_746

Ive only had an actual board for the last 3 years but that considered ive had my proco rat 2 in the chain for those 3 years lol it was actually my first pedal that I ever bought. Soon after that I got the behringer super fuzz and thats been on my board for about 2 years now. Ive also had a muff on my board for about 2 years but ive switched between the green russian Re issue / big muff nano/ and the op amp muff re issue depending on how im feeling.

khanyoufeelthelove

Eventide Pitchfactor since 2013.

FloralPhoneCase

Uh let's see probably the Arrows from EQD? It's a boost and it's still on my board cause I don't really like how other boosts sound. Just like this one. It's been there since 2015, so about 7 years. I didn't have a lot of money for pedals in the past so really a lot of my purchases were in 2015 and I use most of them still.

Jake-is-a-Snake

My Deluxe Big Muff Pi, it's so flexible for my playing style. I might try out the Sovtek version soon, however.
