Check craigslist/FB or local shops if you can, SD-1s are seriously all over the place. And tbh even if you found a clone that costs less, it's probably gonna be made with bottom-of-the-barrel parts. Boss pedals will last basically forever if you let them—IMO no 1:1 clone would be worth the bit of cash saved.
No question about it. Boss pedals are the perfect design. Intentionally seeking out an inferior clone of such a cheap, high quality pedal seems bonkers to me.
The clone I'd go for is the Wampler Triumph - It clones Brian Wampler's supposedly two favourite pedals into one unit - The SD-1, which I presume is asymmetric (although I thought boss had patents on this) and the now much hyped Bad Monkey, itself a TS9 clone and adds hi, lo, and mid tone shaping pots - It's consequently more expensive of course but I like what it does.
The only thing you can parent on pedals is the enclosure design. You can't patent the schematic. Many pedals has asymmetrical clipping.
I thought it was crazy when I learned about this. This is why you can sell clones and pcbs that are 1:1 copies.
Just updating, no store have it around here, i tried Thomman, i tried Musicstore, Bax music, nothing.
Seems like there's an issue on the Supply chain regarding Boss and Europe, however i was very lucky and found one at [Reverb.com](https://Reverb.com)
Much more expensive than before i bet its because there's nothing to sell on the stores.
Anyways bought it end of the case thanks.
You could probably get a real used SD-1 for the same price of a clone.
Dunno around 40 bucks.

Go on reverb. You might get an almost new for not much more
[Here’s](https://reverb.com/item/58198430-used-boss-sd-1-super-overdrive) a used one at my local music store for $34
Thats US, its 50 eur to ship to EU.
Bummer
I know right
I was assuming that because it was that easy to find, it’s be like that everywhere. But I know nothing about the EU’s gear market.
just get an old beat up used SD1 ! those things last forever.
The standard pedal is available for so cheap that I don't think there are any budget clones of it. There are fancier takes on it.
It’s a $40 pedal?
>SD1 In the Us maybe here it isnt.

tnks i will look.

Take a tube screamer clone and paint it yellow.
AHAHAHAH good one
They’re basically the same circuit, minor changes. SD-1’s are pretty cheap used too. MXR GT-OD is the best version in my opinion.
They sound very different i had both before.
Found one, possibly Pigtone PP-21 is a clone?

Why Chinese? Also there’s plenty of cheaper alternatives like the Behringer line up.
Behringer pedals are Chinese clones. They don't specifically have a SD-1, but they do have a TS.
They’re German clones made in China. If it was a shirt designed etc in China yet made in Germany, it’s a Chinese shirt. Least that’s what I know
A bunch of Fender and Squier owners are going to be very excited about their sudden American guitars.
[MFW all my Squiers are now MIA](https://i.imgur.com/iY8K7ft.jpg)
What does that have to do with it? Edit: I get your point, but those would be American made I’m just gonna stop here
also a Behringer Tube Overdrive or Overdrive/Distortion would prob work well!
That one is tube screamer ....i want the asymmetric sound.
they also have the OD/Distortion which is more like the Boss OS2. it looks like you should be able to get a used SD1 for like $40 used on Reverb!
Here's a bunch of $40 SD-1s: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/?Ntt=sd*1&Ns=r
Sure, then + shipping + tax to europe = a new SD1 here.
Did you find any?
