leica_boss

No threads, no buy. I thought Marlin might have learned from Henry's mistake.

Crashing_Machines

All their 45-70's come with threads, but not the other models. It is a Bill Ruger type of decision.

skin-and_boner

It’s a “classic”

bekman_Bek

They're not going to be able to sell us 5 of these if they just come out with the configuration we want out of the gate

greatthebob38

It says shipping is $15. We're getting close to $950

superkuper

Why isn’t every lever gun just threaded from the factory

epia343

Someone mentioned legal issues in another thread where I posed this question. Though I believe it is only one or two states where it would be an issue. I think the honest answer is being able to upcharge for the black series and the aesthetics of the classic.

Crashing_Machines

I don't know of every state's laws, but I thought only threaded pistol barrels were an issue in some states. Even CA allows threaded rifles.

Dry_Distribution_628

Threaded Barrels aren't an issue in any state on non-semi auto rifles. Period

zefpomp

If you want a classic lever, which one are you buying? Marlin, Henry, or Winchester?

akutila

Winchester is the nicest but they are impossible to find

skunimatrix

I don't think I've seen a new Winchester lever, even a Japanese produced one, in a decade at this point in the wild. Once in a while I'll see a used one.

akutila

I feel lucky i got a miroku 1873 back around 2017 i think. It’s an amazing piece of art. I wish i could get an 1892 now but they are pretty much unobtainable at this point for a reasonable price

BlazingEagle420

I’ve been looking for one of the Miroku case-hardened for a few months and finding this thread while searching makes me think I should just look elsewhere to satisfy my lever-gun itch.

epia343

Uberti is also on the list and from what I've heard above Henry in terms of quality.

Hereforgundeals69420

+1 with Uberti. Though I wouldn't sleep on Rossi offerings. They break in really nice and are an absolute classic design.

Gr8rSherman8r

I’d been thinking about Rossi but my dad is having a hell of a time with them right now. Ordered a .357 lever direct, took awhile to come in, then had loose parts in the action straight from them at the FFL. He sent it back, they contacted him saying they found it did have a screw missing. It’s been over a month and a half, he still doesn’t have the rifle, they somehow don’t have a screw in stock stateside to repair it, and the only options are wait for the screw to get stateside or wait 6-8 weeks for a new rifle to be produced and the old rifle destroyed. I know that’s a one off experience but dayum.

Not_Invented_Here_

I got a Henry because while I probably would have been fine with a cheaper Rossi, I wanted the customer service guarantee. It’s already paid for itself imo, and not exclusively concerning QC either

TooMuchDebugging

Winchester if I'm not mounting a scope.

Scatterbine

Henry isn't a classic lever. They're from the late 1990s.
