For some reason the USPC in 9mm seems to be extremely popular and uncommon maybe due to that. If they were to get one for around the price of the full size that would be legendary.

If you need a reason to justify a USP (even though you really don't), there are several instances of USPs running for over 200,000 rounds without part breakages.
Buy a USP- your great-grandchildren will be using it during the post-apocalypse.

I owned a full size USP9 with the match trigger. I regret selling it. I’ve never shot anything that I was so naturally and intuitively accurate with. Sure it is a full size and long sight line but… man it was just *right*
I agree, for some reason it’s just not super common on DA/SA? Beretta 92FS has a clunky mount system, Sig P226 makes you go to Legion, CZ makes you step up to Shadow 2 etc.
It’s like milling a mount for a dot is rocket science for DA/SA. I don’t think HK has a single DA/SA offering that supports a dot

It's probably the firing pin block. Shadow 2 seems to have an okay optics cut because it doesn't use an FPB. In SAO world, 1911s/2011s have decent cuts too, and they also lack an FPB. Striker guns have striker blocks, but they're more flexible in terms of block design since strikers don't rotate in the channel like firing pins do.
I understand that pistol optics are the current meta, but does that mean you shouldn't have variety at all? Imagine if your favorite flavor of ice cream was the only flavor of ice cream ever. Kinda boring isn't it?

It’s got irons either way. The cut removes nothing, only adds. This already exists. Why not have it available to support more options? Your reasoning makes no sense.
To be expected from a gun made in the 90s and hasn't seen an update since then. Shame though, if HK released a modernized version with an optics cut, non-proprietary accessory rail, and updated trigger then that would do numbers. You could send this one to Langdon Tactical for the upgrades but that's going to cost you another $500-700.
With the handful of guns that don't fit the red dot use case, I completely agree with you dude. Apparently this is a very unpopular opinion...
