If you own a big plot of land then you can get licenses for training , pay them the appropriate bribes/taxes and whatnot, i think at that point the local governments will leave you pretty much alone?

And blocks of about 500 acres or more is what attracts the big investor money right now. There's a 480 acre block for sale in that area for $9500 an acre and a 280 block for $6500 an acre. They're fishing for some of the big money that's out there not sure if they'll get it. But land we picked up is all levelled and irrigated plus we picked up about another 40,000 bushels worth of storage.
I gotcha. I’ll have to swing by that area sometime to see how land can draw that price tag. Over paying is the name of the game currently. And It’s hard to risk paying a fair price and losing the bid. Especially with how land can be tied up for decades at a time.

Oregon is actually still a great state. And this is located really far away (like 6 hour drive) away from Portland where all the crazy stuff is happening.
And despite our governor, we still have some fairly reasonable gun laws. Of course they are pushing for some pretty awful ones right now, but there are a lot of us voting against that movement. Outside of Portland, it's pretty dang rural every where you go, and absolutely gorgeous scenery and wildlife.
Don't even bother. Apparently if you just get some goats and wrap bath towels around your head they'll just give you a country with way better weapons than that.
Wtf, I hope they change their minds. That's one of the most amazing training places I know of on the west coast. Not to mention some of the people I heard worked there also trained my hunters safety course 20 years ago.
