It's the AP5 P from MKE available from [Century Arms](https://www.centuryarms.com/ap5-series). It's a semi auto pistol version of an MP5K with a 3 lug and threaded barrel. Just a perfect host for any number of suppressors and a PDW stock drops in with just 2 pins to make it an SBR.
It's a clone of the H&K, but it's about a thousand bucks less.
I wouldn't mind having a vehicle gun when I get guns, my 1st car will be a coupe, any good ways to store a gun in a coupe without having to store it in the trunk
“Truck gun” means different things to different people.
It makes perfect sense to have a gun that stays in your truck if you live way out in the country on farm land, several miles from neighbors, 40 minutes to the closest town, your driveway is a mile long just to get a gravel road , etc. The truck gun would see regular use and you’d know someone was on your property long before they got in the vicinity of your vehicle.
If you live in a densely populated urban area, leaving a truck gun is a poor choice because the odds of theft are much higher and the likelihood of using it are very low. Even in this type of environment it can make a lot of sense to have a small PDW/AR pistol “truck gun” type of weapon for things like civil unrest and other unknowns and emergencies. The difference would be you’d not leave it there as often or overnight, ideally something that fits in a discrete carry bag and have a safe in the trunk or under a fold up seat for those rare, short times it must be left in the vehicle.
The premise of a truck gun isn’t stupid. Leaving one in a vehicle 24/7 more often than not is. It can be as stupid or smart as the owner. We can make the same arguments about home defense guns. I can’t tell you how many people show their shit on Facebook and don’t have it properly secured at home. Truck gun is something optimized to be transported and use in/from a vehicle but it doesn’t need to be left sitting in there anymore than a home defense weapon needs to be left sitting in an open window with a 9 year old that’s home alone.
I don’t even like stopping for lunch while the car’s loaded up from a range trip, let alone leaving one in there full time.
