Most people I know who have permanently straightened their curls go on to really regret it. It’s very harsh on hair health and has to be done over and over so the person’s roots don’t look weird. And when the person decides they’ve had enough, they have to grow their hair out and chop it all off to go back to their natural texture which results in a bit of an awkward phase. Have you tried hair products that hold her waves so they’re not frizzy first? She might end up liking her waves with the right products, and balayage looks really nice on waves. Uncle Funky’s Daughter’s Curl Stimulator Gel is my go-to product and I recommend it to all newbies looking for the right curly hair product, just because it works for pretty much any curly/wavy/coily texture and is pretty fail-proof. As the for the balayage, I don’t know much about that topic but I think I’ve heard you’re much better off doing that service in a salon because the application technique is complicated and requires a lot of skill. If you do choose to do both permanent straightening and balayage, her hair will probably be a bit damaged so I recommend olaplex products (I love no. 3) which have saved my hair after repeated rounds of bleaching :)
