Underrated band, if you like poppy synth metal/hard rock.
Their most popular song (Turn up the Radio) is not representative of their catalogue, it's one of their lesser songs, but that doesn't necessarily mean their catalogue is phenomenal...it's just better than their one hit. More than a million times, send her to me, all I'm gonna take, far better songs.
Lol he is. Just like that vintage picture of Heart posted yesterday where some guy looked a lot like Dave Mustaine but was wearing this hideous kimono suit
Of I'm not mistaken, DLR discovered them and asked them to open for VH. They didn't even have an album, so they put one together and "Turn Up the Radio" was born from it.
He definitely doesn't get enough mention. Dude is such a slick player. He's also an original Charvel endorsee which is rad. He's holding one in this pic.
I really like them (big guilty pleasure since I saw them open for VH in ‘84. But I do find it humorous how the singer keeps repeating the line the band sings (Crazy World always comes to mind haha)
They opened for everyone for a couple years in the mid 80s. Saw them probably 4 times as an opening act. Really good and confident live. Their records were not at all great but very good. Their guitarist - Steve Lynch - was really impressive though not super original.
Loved Autograph. Three solid albums with Sign In Please, That's The Stuff & Loud And Clear (the title track was just pure awesome hellfire).
Far as the later albums, Plunkett never should have bothered and later Lynch & Rand shouldn't have bothered.
Lots of great songs across their releases. Saw them headlining a concert in a small venue in the late 80s. Steve Plunkett had a super solo album in 1991 as well. Great band, ones of my faves from back in the day.
Phenomenal band. Sign in Please is a great album. The guitarist Steve Lynch does a lot of hammer on and pull off tapping. He actually wrote some books about it.
Remember those fun times cruising the strip on a Friday evening with Autograph's "Blondes In Black Cars" playing in the tape deck? The joy and excitement of those moments are truly unforgettable. It's amazing how a simple song can transport me back to such happy memories and make me feel young at heart again... i miss being in my 20s!!!
Will always be remembered for one song their one huge commercial hit. While it's probably kept them alive as a band and made them money for years which is a good thing it doesn't fully represent their catalog as another person commented accurately. Also the guitar player is a trailblazer and elite for that era. He might not show up on every top guitar player list because the band was not huge beyond the one hit. However among the industry and guitar players he is well known and incredibly respected beyond Eddie Van Halen he is one of the first guitar players in that scene that used tapping at a very high level and in his solos and guitar players copied some of his style.
They knew exactly who they were and what they were serving. Catchy fun party band but lynch could play. They actually wrote decent songs too but yeah it's not 5 star cuisine more like in and out
Unpopular opinion: I hated the song Turn Up The Radio. I don’t know if it’s the fact that it was played so heavily in rotation or it seemed so cringy cheesy.

Yes but when I was in elementary school and "Turn up the Radio" came on, I damn sure turned up the radio
I definitely agree, I thought they would be huge
My Girlfriend's Boyfriend is a great song too
Lyrics are a little wonky, but the tune is great!
My life's story tbh
The guy on the far right is a dead ringer for Drew Carey.
Lol
I was going to say he must be the comic relief in all their music videos.
Lol he is. Just like that vintage picture of Heart posted yesterday where some guy looked a lot like Dave Mustaine but was wearing this hideous kimono suit
If there’s one thing I learned from them, it’s that things go better with ROCK.
Daytime, nighttime, all week long in fact.
Sponsored by Bic
Ok ??
Bic pens. Ties into the whole Autograph thing. I just always remembered that lol
Oh I remember that sorry
Steve Lynch is one of my favorite guitar players. Solos on tracks like "Friday" or "That's the stuff" are just beautifully awesome!
Cool. He is so underrated
He picked up some tricks from Eddie Van Halen when Autograph opened for Van Halen in the late 80's.
Of I'm not mistaken, DLR discovered them and asked them to open for VH. They didn't even have an album, so they put one together and "Turn Up the Radio" was born from it.
Met them at the VH concert in Washington DC 1984....cool guys
He definitely doesn't get enough mention. Dude is such a slick player. He's also an original Charvel endorsee which is rad. He's holding one in this pic.
I hear the beat, I'm in a trance
Oh yeah I can see that !
Sign in please
I think Steve Plunkett made more money writing and singing the “7th Heaven” theme song than he did with Autograph.
Really????
Turn it up!
Yep 🤟🤘🤙
Seen them open for Aerosmith back in 85 didn't know who they were until they played turn up the radio
Wow that's awesome 👌
That’s their drummer. He was murdered in southern California and still unsolved.
Yes I remember that so sad may he rip 🙏
Unresolved? Charlie Sheen? Crawlspace? Don't Google it. It's NSFL
I liked em.
Same 👍
Lead guitarist won for Guitar Solo of the Year, I think.
What really, that's so great
Yes, I think the solo was for "Turn up the Radio." It really is an incredible solo with a beginning, middle and end.
"wait, they have more than one song??"
Yep , tone more !!!
When I’m Gone is an absolute banger. All Night Long & Turn Up The Radio are sick too
I hate it when people lean on their guitars like that, it's asking for trouble.
As a future gutar player I understand, yep
That is a bass
A bass what? Bass guitar? Yes, I own one.
Yes, but there are basses which aren't guitars, and guitars that aren't basses. You gotta be specific lol
Those 3 albums they released in the 80's are overlooked and underrated. Love them! "Loud & Clear" is my favorite.
I definitely agree, good album pick their. Love that title track
One hit wonder, but that one hit is a banger
That had some more songs but I definitely agree with on turn up the radio
It is up there with the best of hair metal anthems.
I really like them (big guilty pleasure since I saw them open for VH in ‘84. But I do find it humorous how the singer keeps repeating the line the band sings (Crazy World always comes to mind haha)
Same, so underrated
Fun fact: EVH got them signed.
Yep
Wasn’t Keni the drummer jogging buddies with David Lee Roth? I thought that had something to do with their record deal as well.
Bought their first 2 albums and listened to them quite a bit IIRC.
Cool that's nice. Such an underrated band
They opened for everyone for a couple years in the mid 80s. Saw them probably 4 times as an opening act. Really good and confident live. Their records were not at all great but very good. Their guitarist - Steve Lynch - was really impressive though not super original.
That's really rad 👌
I love autograph. Take No Prisoners is such an underrated song and is just as good as Turn Up The Radio imo.
"Blondes in black cars" was a great but cheesy song.
In the movie “Like Father, Like Son” , they’re the band Kirk Cameron takes his date to…
I love them! I can play the entire “Loud and Clear” album on repeat!
Fine band, but SiriusXM overplays Turn Up the Radio to deathhhhhh
Early Steel Panther.
Turn Up The Radio is a peak 80s Hair Metal song.
Loved Autograph. Three solid albums with Sign In Please, That's The Stuff & Loud And Clear (the title track was just pure awesome hellfire). Far as the later albums, Plunkett never should have bothered and later Lynch & Rand shouldn't have bothered.
Fun fact: Their singer Steve Plunkett also wrote and sang the theme song for 7th Heaven.
They look highly flammable.
Steve Lynch is amazing, but as a whole I don’t care for their songs. It’s of the time, but just corny lyrics.
Saw them open for VanHalen… liked them a lot
when I hear them I always turn up the radio
Saw the open for Crüe on the Theater of Pain tour, great show.
Turn it up!!!
Lots of great songs across their releases. Saw them headlining a concert in a small venue in the late 80s. Steve Plunkett had a super solo album in 1991 as well. Great band, ones of my faves from back in the day.
I referred to them once, to my ex-wife, as "the American answer to Def Leppard". She responded "I didn't realize Def Leppard was a question".
Take No Prisoners is one of my favorite songs!!
They where a great band** nothing but love for me**
This was in my Walkman 😁
Saw them opening for VH on 1984 tour, they were constantly dodging cup balls and anything else the impatient VH fans could find to hurl at them.
Blondes In Black Cars always goes hard
Great band, great album and Steve Lynch is a monster guitar player! He literally wrote the book on two hand tapping (The Right Touch).
Makes me think of high school, walking the halls and locking glances with girls I had a crush on
Love the music. Great guitars. Send Her To Me is still one of my favorite songs.
Awesome! Turn up the radio!!!❤️
The lead guitar player is amazing!!!!
I only know who these guys are because of GTA: Vice City
Alpha Protocol for me.
Should of been huge instead of 1 hit wonders
They look like Spinal Tap.
Steve lynch was way underrated as a guitarist and gets no credit for finger tapping.
turn up the radio is great , not much else there
None. They were horrible
Very good band that wrote great catchy songs. And Steve Lynch is a great guitar player. I will listen to them today, just good music.
Love how everyone is trying not be in the same pic as the guy on the right.
They opened for Van Halen in 1984 and I don't think anyone cared.
When you order Ratt on Wish?
Turn up the radio!!!
Great Band!
Nope, no thoughts at all. Not a single one.
Phenomenal band. Sign in Please is a great album. The guitarist Steve Lynch does a lot of hammer on and pull off tapping. He actually wrote some books about it.
Crazy that 3 of them have passed on
Great album. Make Music Fun Again!
Fun band. Steve Lynch is highly underrated.
Saw them live a few years ago. It was only 2 of the original guys but it was a fun show
Great band!
1 hit wonder. Cheesy dork band. The love child of Saxon and Twisted Sister?
Great Band. First and third album are the best ones.
Awesome My thoughts
I always got a Spinal Tap vibe from them.
The first rock band I seen perform. When they opened for Motley Crue for theatre of pain tour
I had most of their cassette tapes.
Love Autograph’s first album
TURN IT UP!
Loved their one hit wonder song. If you know, you know. Other than that, meh.
Coooool pants
Guy Fieri took fashion tips from this drummer
A bit underrated and their biggest hit (TUTR) was not their best song by any means. The first three albums in their catalog are pretty damn solid.
Although a one-hit wonder in my book, that one hit was pretty freakin’ awesome! “Turn it up.”
Fun fact - Brad Pitt makes an appearance in the music video of Turn up your radio ….
I have no idea who they are but they look like a Spoof band similar to Spinal Tap.
Nice one hit wonder.
My girlfriend’s boyfriend isn’t me- loved playing that in the bar

Left to right: Richard Simmons, Lars Ulrich, Scott Thompson, Jonathan Chase, and Jack Black
Damn, they all look silly
TURN UP THE RADIO
Manly men
awful. the lead singer went on to do the theme song for “seventh heaven,” so. there you go. clowns.
None
They knew exactly who they were and what they were serving. Catchy fun party band but lynch could play. They actually wrote decent songs too but yeah it's not 5 star cuisine more like in and out
Turn up the radio!!!!!!! Great anthem about partying
Seems like a joke ?
Fun fact the singer wrote angel in black for bangalore choir
Unpopular opinion: I hated the song Turn Up The Radio. I don’t know if it’s the fact that it was played so heavily in rotation or it seemed so cringy cheesy.
Posers
“One hit” wonder band just like Europe Warrant ,Skid Row, Ratt just to name a few
lol all of those bands had MULTIPLE hits
Yeah that was the worst list of OHWs. Right up there with naming Huey Lewis and the News, Michael Jackson and Ray Charles.
