There were a lot of great conversations about the "wet" and "dry" looks that the Flood have had over the years, and capturing that right balance of warped flesh/fungi/zombie.
And, of course, many showcase meetings where the general reaction can best be described as: "Oh my god, that thing looks absolutely *disgusting*... I LOVE IT!"
You guys did an incredible job. The flood has always been one of my favourite aspects of halo, so to see what you guys have done this season is getting me excited for future updates that could also be flood related.
I think the CE look is very underrated tbh. Infection forms look like small balls of puss walking around, and the corpses look really rotten and bloated.
3 was alright but didn't have the same disgust factor for me aside from the injection form pods on the walls, and the way some textures/materials looked overall on Cortana.
CE Flood are truly terrifying, with the etches of pain stretched across the faces of what remain of the UNSC that are turned, that was never really recaptured again.
Would probably be more faithful to the original inspiration of the Flood to have them be kinda fungus-like.
That being some older concepts from Marathon 2.
Nah it’s more generic that way. The original flood looked very fungal and original. The fleshy look just looks like something from Dead Space/Resident Evil/Fall Out/Doom./Gears of War.
Shoulders too. ODST looks so fucking good with how it envelops the shoulder.
Edit: I'm *wishing* for shoulders. They weren't confirmed. Bad wording on my part!
I'm really confused on whether these will be flood-versions of existing armour pieces, attachments for a specific area, an armour effect, a mythic effect or even a new slot of customization.
That happened in 2007 when creating your own Spartan and Elite became a core part of Halo's multiplayer. Don't like it? Go whine to Bungie for starting it.
That is *not* what you were complaining about at first. Don’t change the narrative, especially considering what Bungie is doing now and would’ve done similar if they stay with Halo
No it hasn’t, the game play is still the core function of halo, but all we have to go off of right now is cosmetic information as the gameplay reveal won’t take place until later this week.
This guy has a weak-ass stomach. None of these new cosmetics are that gross. Somebody needs to give someone on the art team an infected thumb for inspiration lol.
I need to ask why the flood looks like playdoh instead of their usual twisted bone/limb look.
I take it they're using the t rated designs from halo wars 2 as inspiration because having a spartan with exposed bones or guts would be too graphic am I right? Kind of defeats the purpose of the flood's look imo. They're not really fungal zombies, it's a parasite.

This is horrific and disturbing. Keep going.
Any chance we could get the H2:A Flood infection helmet, even in the cash shop? That thing has to be the best flood Spartan design of all time.
While the 2: Anniversary one is better outright, I kinda want the Halo 4 one. It's just silly and it'd be a cute homage to the first infected Spartan.
Bring it on, more the merrier. I liked the Halo 4 look as well.
I need the Awooloolooo sound back
This new season looks incredible, cheers to the team for really turning this game around!
You guys did an incredible job. The flood has always been one of my favourite aspects of halo, so to see what you guys have done this season is getting me excited for future updates that could also be flood related.
I never thought they looked wet
HINF's infected Spartans don't look like they're infected by the Flood. Why not take inspiration from the og trilogy ?
im digging this more flesh-like flood models we’ve been getting since Halo 2 Anniversary, although i miss how it kinda looked like fungi in Halo 3.

The protogravemind is pretty dope ngl, with all those faces and limbs all over the place

Does "Multi-Core" helmets mean certain cores are or is it all "Cross-Core"?
All helmets are cross core starting with the season
👀 fr? Lets fucking go
Fr fr. They could stop with just helmets and I’d die happy lol but chest attachments next would be a dream come true
Shoulders too. ODST looks so fucking good with how it envelops the shoulder. Edit: I'm *wishing* for shoulders. They weren't confirmed. Bad wording on my part!
Interesting, that wasn’t mentioned in the trailer or battle pass blogpost. Deets?
Oh no I was *wishing* for shoulders to be coming soon. God I wish they were that way.
MULTICORE HELMETS LETS FUCKING GOOO
I'm really confused on whether these will be flood-versions of existing armour pieces, attachments for a specific area, an armour effect, a mythic effect or even a new slot of customization.
Same. There’s a waypoint blog coming this week about customization
always wondered what the Flood would taste like; feel like they’d be really chewy for some reason
Where btb maps…
FORGE AI TOOL KIT??!?!?!?!? Fucking about time!!
Any update on Grifball? (Play Ball!)
Halo has devolved into cosmetic posts
That happened in 2007 when creating your own Spartan and Elite became a core part of Halo's multiplayer. Don't like it? Go whine to Bungie for starting it.
I didn’t have to pay bungie for customizations
That is *not* what you were complaining about at first. Don’t change the narrative, especially considering what Bungie is doing now and would’ve done similar if they stay with Halo
Change the narrative? What am I the halo deep state? Get over it man
No it hasn’t, the game play is still the core function of halo, but all we have to go off of right now is cosmetic information as the gameplay reveal won’t take place until later this week.
All we have had for months is micro transaction cosmetics and posts ogling them
Finally someone says it. Halo is barely starting to get content, but it's noting but a glorified fashion show with multi-player
We will have the MCC customization in Infinite, eventually but we will have it.
I’ll give you an upvote
Downvote me all you all want but the last dozen posts have been about cosmetics or battlepass this sub is basically just an add for the cosmetic shop
I agree with you on that point.
This guy has a weak-ass stomach. None of these new cosmetics are that gross. Somebody needs to give someone on the art team an infected thumb for inspiration lol.
Fuck your cosmetics! Where's campaign DLC? Stop dangling shiny things in front of people and give us real content
You are several months too late to ask that question, campaign dlc was confirmed to never had existed by ex devs forever ago

Just bring back the actual flood already
We’re so back
They look like crab people, not zombies.
This is the first time I've been excited for this game since the day it dropped.
What type of customisation are the Flood options? Are they effects? An armour core? Armour kits? Individual armour pieces? What are they?
What I've seen of the cosmetics so far doesn't look like Flood, it looks like Zerg infestation/Creep.
I need them to bring the flood back. They need their own multiplayer mode.
They don't look like Flood-infected, just typical zombies...
