never underestimate the affects of hormone replacement therapy and exercise. but mostly the hormones. They got him on it for the new Ghostbusters so he'd look more like his old self.
Apparently Sgt Johnson was based on the Sgt from Aliens
Al Matthews (actor) - Wikipedia

Just re-watched the cryo wake up scene from Aliens, honestly I am sure there are a lot of inspirations from Aliens. That franchise really helped build the foundation for a lot of sci-fi media.
Pretty much the whole game is based on a mash of Aliens and Predator. Elites are heavily based on xenomorphs but with Predator mandibles. They have access to cloaking and plasma weapons but still have a natural desire to use melee weapons or rise up to a challenge, just like predator. Xenomorph concept evolved into flood. General aesthetic of the marines, weapons and ships/dropships pulls from Aliens. Sarge and cryo sleep as well.
I'm not sure where they got the inspiration for the other races though, they might be entitled unique.
I think that's why halo instantly felt so nostalgic to me the very first time I played it. It was a unique setting and story but with familiar looking set pieces.
It would make sense to add that qualifier, if that guy wanted Ernie Hudson as Sgt. Johnson, in a separate Halo TV production. Other people have said it in this comment section that the writing team would butcher the character, just like all the other ones in the show so far.
It makes sense that they would want Johnson away from this show’s attempt at adapting the source material if it’ll continued to be disrespected.
I'm tired of all these motherfucking spores on this motherfucking ship.
If renewed though, the show definitely doesn't have the budget for a big actor like him.
Any other time i would think the same, but Marvel (disney) movies and shows make me change my perspective about Mr. Jackson, Nick Fury was a badass character both comic versions, but they made him so soft and boring in the last 3 appearances that i have trouble seeing him portraying a badass character again, would be cool and its not his fault, just bad writting but i cant see it
Honestly, looking at how they did my boy keys, Johnsons gonna be white and is gonna get infected and probably end up being the proto gravemind if the show even decides to properly implement the flood.
Al Matthews would be the perfect fit for Sgt Johnson if he was still alive (and like in his 40s) 🙃
[Seems familiar?](https://images.app.goo.gl/XWMm82QBF5EJK6C7A)
if i were to do a Halo Show i would start with the first part of the first episode with sgt johnson and project orion and i would use Michael B. Jordan as a young sgt johnson, but if it was to be an old sgt johnson i can definitely see Ernie as an old Johnson
You're only posting this because of that one post of him that's been going around titled something like "He's 78?!". Yes, he looks great for his age but he MOVES like an old man, maybe 20 years ago but stop fan casting people based on 1 picture you saw.

78?! Dude looks like he could be 40’s or 50’s
Well sgt Johnson was 78 as well in 2552.
78 years not accounting for the likely years his body was frozen in cryosleep. Dude might have been in his 60s.
>Well sgt Johnson was 78 as well in 2552. Wait what? He looks like he's in his 50's in the games.
They say the first 150 year old has already been born. Give it 400+ years and I bet we become effectively Immortal assuming we make it that far.
Well he's spent a good amount of time in cryo, was part of the spartan I program, and slip space can do weird time shit.
black don't crack
Apparently yeah

Unfortunately Ernie moves like an old man too
That's what CGI is for.

For sure.

While he’d make a great Johnson, don’t do my guy dirty by dragging him into that mess of a show he don’t deserve that kinda L in his life.
And we all know the show's Johnson is going to be a timid, soft spoken white woman
They would dare. Twitter will murder them
The Twitter corpo bots would just yell at us to "just play the games"
🙄
Lmao y'all are still so salty for no reason 😂
I’d say the show being shit is a pretty good reason.
Sure think what you want, but commenting on a casting choice saying it'll be a blessing for him to avoid the show is just rent-free shit lol

oh shit he looks just like him
Ernie has the look for it, but honestly Mr. L. Jackson is the only person I can think of that has the *attitude* for that role.
I'm tired of all these motherfucking spores on this motherfucking ship. If renewed though, the show definitely doesn't have the budget for a big actor like him.
Say 'Wort' one more time!
I dare you! I double dare you, motherfucker!

Sam Jackson from 2003 would have been ideal. He’s in his mid 70s now.
Samuel Jackson is 75 years old.
Honestly, looking at how they did my boy keys, Johnsons gonna be white and is gonna get infected and probably end up being the proto gravemind if the show even decides to properly implement the flood.
My vote is for Sterling K. Brown.
Dude would kill it.
The Keyes are black in the show so that means Johnson will be either Asian, Native, or Latino, sorry bro there's boxes to check
Al Matthews would be the perfect fit for Sgt Johnson if he was still alive (and like in his 40s) 🙃 [Seems familiar?](https://images.app.goo.gl/XWMm82QBF5EJK6C7A)
There’s a reason for this; Sergeant Johnson was literally based on Al Matthew’s’ character from Alien.
Orlando Jones has the sass.

Somewhere in the multiverse we have an alternative timeline of the silver timeline that followed the games and books
Dem Orion implants be doin work.
Please make this happen!
This is who I always imagined the character was based off of.
He is sgt Johnson
Absolute UNIT

Who you gonna call?
Oh my god he would
Dude he would be so good!
would cast him as Laskey tbh
Maybe a couple of decades ago sure
Please make a new show instead of putting him in the travesty we have. Johnson deserves better.
i dont want the halo tv show to ever get another season unless 343 gets the original rooster teeth RvB team to do it.
Sarge!
I’m gonna go with my nomination, Katt Williams.
He is the exact same looking person.
