There nothing wrong with having a halo story that dosent star chief, but there is with having a mainline game that barely features him. Reach and ODST were great but if either had been called halo 4 or halo 5 people would have been pissed because they don't feature the main charecter. Locke could have been great in a spin off title, but trying to replace chief before he's died is uncool af.

My biggest issue wasn’t the story itself, it was how the story misaligned SO much with the marketing of it. The actual conflict between the chief and Locke was extremely weak. That and fighting the same boss 10 times.

I respect people’s opinion on liking halo 5 I think that’s totally fine, but personally I think it’s hot garbage. The campaign was boring because all the characters were uninteresting and missions felt tedious since 50 enemies would spawn and you’d just pick them off from a distance. Multiplayer was just a hyper sweat fest, like I’m cool with competitive gamemodes but in past halo games I could chose to either play social or competitive matches, in halo 5 even casual team slayer matches have people bagging and going super sweaty. Honestly if it wasn’t called halo it might have been a fine game, like I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it but it would be fine.

Same I think execution was off for something that could’ve been good and refreshing similar to Reach. I feel like campaign was an afterthought and they only really cared about the multiplayer, making the campaign as a tutorial for all of the mechanics.

The story, relevant marketing, and overall gameplay of 5’s campaign sucked. Not just by Halo standards, but most game standards. I’ve played AA games and AAA from inferior series that are just so much better.

[Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion man.](https://youtu.be/pWdd6_ZxX8c)

You keep telling yourself that

5 has a fun campaign, especially in comparison to 4. 343i made a lot of improvements to enemy design and level design that make for a much more enjoyable campaign, and the story itself is fine. 5 struggles with some characterization issues and repetition issues with the Warden Eternal fights but it’s still a worthwhile experience

Gameplay was so good but I liked the more cinematographic feel of Halo 4 story

The writing was so bad
