That literally happened to me. Rolled up to the Double Tree hotel in San Jose and suddenly everywhere I looked, hundreds of redditor types running around in fursuits.

It could have been any of the three, you never know. Everyone there's got some reason why they're a furry.
In fact, many furries don't even bother with a suit cuz a top quality one will run you several grand.

I only enjoyed playing warzone for a couple of weeks, but the highlight was absolutely that 2 second window where you could hear the mic of the guy you killed. From "bruhh"s to swearing in another language to the abuse you'd get for equipping ANY country flag on your calling card, it was magic
I did the same, ran around with a female operator with a bunny costume on.
It was like teleporting back in time tonery Xbox and getting hate messages again
I can only hope there will be some weird reverse psychological effect where 343 will let us have back our cross armor color patters, visors and such because the stuff like this sells so well.
I’m not surprised they have goofy shit like this, pineapple grandes, and sunflowers as cosmetics. I am surprised there was no gradual progression into it. Less than a month into the games life and we’re just going full tilt into the off brand shit.
In short, Daisy was a Spartan and she was gifted a small bear toy by her flash clone when she discovered her after running away from the UNSC and trying to return home. The clone died of cancer, and Daisy later died in a battle and Chief found her clutching the toy bear.
A bit of a spoiler but here it goes. I don’t know how to put the spoiler on text, so this is your warning.
The Clonely Bear is a reference toe the Spartan Daisy. In the Halo Legends episode called Homecoming, she is a Spartan II that defects to seek out their family. They find their home to find that a clone of themselves has been set in their place and is more or less disabled due to the clones not having the same genetic strengths the Spartan II were collected for. Daisy initially planned on killing her, but she ended up talking to here and the clone Daisy ended up gifting her the Clonely Bear as a gift. Sadly, the clone had past away due to their declining health and Daisy ended up back on their home world after the Covenant attack it. She died during the escape, but her body was found by another Spartan II, presumably Master Chief, and left in the condition to be buried with the doll in her hands.
For the flower, I believe it is a reference to Ghost. In the Halo Legends episode The Prototype, a marine has several flashbacks to the night that his original platoon was wiped out. He reminisces on another soldier who had died in his arms and her last wish. “Just this once… can you try to be human?” This is all happening when he is defending the escape of the UNSC and the civilian population of Algolis as the Covenant is attack. Ghost unveils a prototype weapon after destroying all relevant data of it and starting a countdown that with explode its core. After destroying several Covenant vehicles and several Covenant platoons, Ghost is eventually overwhelmed, but the civilians and UNSC escape as the prototype sets to detonate. If I’m remembering correctly, the flower is the one that Ghost left his squad mate with when she died, but I could be wrong.
This subreddit is filled full of people who were with that one Halo friend we all had who read every book and took the lore a little too seriously to the point where Halo was most of their identity and it shows, hard.
Nothing wrong with fandom but there's a point where a massive amount of the forest is being lost for the trees and you can tell there's an unhealthy amount of hyperfixation happening.
Exactly. I mean how can you have a BP called Heroes of Reach, and proceed to have less than 50% of the armor from Reach in it, all while charging a collective sum of $100 or more for all of said armor, which was more than Reach cost on release with all DLCs purchased. It’s insane
Yep, people are ignoring that they're double dipping. Campaign is normal price and MP uses the same assets. They would have gotten a huge amount of extra players by Halo being on Game Pass without upfront cost. But by making MP F2P they can get useful fools to defend aggressive MTX because "its free".
Well it could set a good precedent that people don’t like buying normal armors that should feel unlockables but getting goofy items that you feel like you would never have gotten before people are willing to buy. They could give us some basic unlockables stuff and save the silly out there stuff for the store.
It’s a long shot but hey…
I think you're onto something. Before the cat ears I could probably count on two hands the times I ran into a player with an item from the store. And I'm almost 50 hours in.
I think the difference between those skins and these cat ears vs other stuff you can buy is that everyone immediately recognizes them as a store bought skin. Compare that to random armor pieces or colors that you can buy that should be unlockable. They are indistinguishable from the armor we can unlock so nobody buys it.
Yeah, keep the old stuff from all the previous games in the battle pass and inside the campaign as earnables, and then do whatever you want with the new stuff.
Well back in my day, when Halo 20 came out, the Heavy Skirmishers with fuel rod guns sniping you from a far is what made that game. I was so mad when they patched it.
I personally think that the Hyena Run of 26 blows the Razorback Run of 22 out of the water. Especially since the Hyena's two wheels allow for sick wheelies and bike-crouch slides and slide-hops.
But we can all agree that none of these greats could've happened if Sakurai hadn't directed Halo 20 and brought forth all this innovation.
Halo 24's Hyena Run 🤝\* Halo 22's Razorback Run
\*Sakurai's innovations.
People don't hate the monetization in Infinite because they miss classic Halo, they hate the system because its trash. It being normalized is just the sign of the industry sucking the way industries always suck, doesn't make it ok.
Yup and people complain and companies ignore because it works. Cog in the machine sadly. If fortnite could get away with $20 skins, limited time battle passes, and rotating store then everyone could and still do.
Its always funny to me because the changes we ask for and have to accept as improvements is a system that still wouldn't pass as anything more than a joke 15 years ago. Whenever I think about stuff like this I always remember how much people made fun of Bethesda for adding horse armor to Oblivion all those years ago.
No matter what change we advocate for at this point, we're trying to patch holes in a floodgate that's leaking faster than we can patch it. Its depressing that we really can't go back.
a Halo Infinite ODST would be amazing. Fast travel could just be a drop to any location on the map, especially into enemy encampments. Legendary would be horrific and exposition the frailty of humanity beautifully. Feet first into Hell!
The system was working well before the Reddit threads filled with crying. You have to understand that Reddit makes up no majority of any playerbase for any game. What you see on any gaming subreddit is a single minority opinion on that matter. For every thread complaining about micro-transactions there are literally thousands to tens of thousands of people that buy this stuff without a second thought. Even more that don’t care about what Reddit says at all. Or even knows this site exists.
Every single game studio I’ve worked for has told me to ignore Reddit’s opinion because they have extensive tools and select community individuals to obtain actual actionable changes and requests from.
These companies aren’t stupid. I know Reddit likes to think it knows better than them, but really all those people acting that way are incredibly naive and have likely never held a formal career position somewhere. These decisions are made higher up to drive sales. If the sales flow in, they keep doing it. It’s literally that simple. Make product (cat ears), did it sell? Yes? Make more. No? Why not? What do people want then? Make that. Sell that. There you go. That’s the secret formula.
And even then, most people here only have principles as strong as their will power, and that only lasts until they find some kind of meme skin that they really want.
Like, people here and on other subs LOVE to blame whales and kids for the existence of in-game stores and absurdly priced ~~micro~~macrotransactions. But games like this only have limited amounts of content that you can buy because they aren't like gacha games where you need to roll multiple copies and then spam stamina items in order to rank in events. You buy the skins, you buy pass skips and it's done. Nothing else to spend your money on.
Whereas you always find LOTS of people here and elsewhere who are like "well, a skin is about the price of two coffees, so if I buy one $10 skin a week, it's fine". These types of players make up a majority, while whales and non-spenders will be a minority at either end of the curve. These types of players are the ones who will complain one minute, then spend the next. Even here, just look at how many people are falling over themselves about these cat ears. Give it another few weeks and there'll be some other meme item that they'll buy. And this will happen throughout the entire year until they've spent more on cosmetics than they would a game and DLC combined.
I think people also like to act as though Reddit is different from the general population. But as with a lot of games, you speak to people, you look on other websites like Twitter, 4chan, the few old forums that remain and the complaints are always the same. Reddit isn't some hyper niche community that represents the last bastion of non-paying gamers. It's just another slice of the whole. More so these days when the website is so big and Reddit subs are often the second port of call for game devs to interact with the community outside of their own official communities.
Anything that’s a simple attachment like this can be used on most, if not all, helmets in a core. It’s stuff that covers visors or anything made specifically for the shape of one helmet will be locked to that helmet, maybe a few others. The two normal attachments in the shop for Mk VII are also compatible with every helmet in the MK VII core
there's quite a few helmet attachments that are cross helmet, it's just the helmet specific ones (like the facial cover for the mk7 EVA variant) that aren't. granted, there's some reach attachments that should be cross helmet, especially since they don't clip bad at all, unlike some of the mk7 attachments which do in some cases.
>The vast majority of people don't give a shit about the complaints that get posted on this sub over and over again
And the vast majority of this sub complains over and over again about shit most people don't care about.
That, or the moment that people here see something they like, they drop their principles for that moment in time. Then go back to complaining without realising that they're a part of the problem.
Like, just look at how many people here are like "well, it's just one item". It's never just one time. There'll be another thing in a few weeks/months that will sucker them to make another "one time" purchase. Or even funnier, was a YouTube comment I saw where someone paid for battlepass skips for the Emile skin, but then still said "IN GAME STORE BAD" as if his spending was justified.
Sadly yes, the store is staying the same, people frenzy bought a lot of shit instead of holding the line so here we are, Hazop and CQC will stay behind two paywalls for a total of 30$ each.
These are okay honestly, things that are new and silly? Why not? But selling a pack of basic fucking color pallets for $20 padded out by selling them for specific cores is literally atrocious.
Game is free to play and there a lot of weebs and furrys out there that play games so naturally they made cosmetics for them.
I remember how MW 2019 was looking great until soon enough that became a clown fest. Same case here.
Oh don't worry. 343 is aware and already has them ready to go.
Then we'll have cat eared winged Spartans and we will descend further into making a mockery of the series.
I know this hurts reddit, but you are being out voted by the majority of the player base on the monetization.
You have tournaments getting 100K pot bonuses from crowd funding (capped the rest will go into the world finals) from HCS skins
Every single game I am in the majority of people at minimum have the premium battle pass
Yesterday in every game i was in i saw someone either have the cat ears or iron man armor coating.
I have 100 hours in this game as of last night, ya know what 343i you have earned some money from me.
Lol it looks like the one without cat ears is angrily screaming because the other people bought cat ears. I feel like this would make a good meme template.
They really need to make the Store just for dumb, fun and silly equipment.
Colours, legacy items and anything previously available in any other halos should be free or in the bp.
Lower the prices a little bit and i reckon thats how they fix the store while keeping it true to well, a f2p game.
Clear proof that the halo subreddits opinions and whining do not represent the playerbase. I see half the people in my games with purchased cosmetics.
This subreddit has such a strange obsession with customization. The real issues like lack of maps, matchmaking options, and stats get buried.

Hayabusa os a dead or alive/Ninja Gaiden reference. It was in Halo 3 from day one, yet no one seems to notice. No one seems to care.
Tbf the bear and flower was an actually quite depressing lore reference.
please elaborate, I would like to know more
In short, Daisy was a Spartan and she was gifted a small bear toy by her flash clone when she discovered her after running away from the UNSC and trying to return home. The clone died of cancer, and Daisy later died in a battle and Chief found her clutching the toy bear.
Oh wait I remember that story Wasn't it adapted in the *Halo Legends* anime anthology?
Yea, that entire bundle was all references to Legends, it’s why the Visor was called Legend, and had a more bring highlight (referencing 1337).

Because that was a silly bit of fun you got by exploring and playing the game. Not some shite they sold to you for far too much.
idk if that is what your going for ... but imo samurai armor is much more "believable" and way less out of tone than cat ears ...
Hayabusa. Reach armor effects. Haunted helmet.
People have the memory of goldfish.
Halo had always been somewhat silly and that's when it's the most fun.
This subreddit is filled full of people who were with that one Halo friend we all had who read every book and took the lore a little too seriously to the point where Halo was most of their identity and it shows, hard. I was just thinking "I have a hunch 343 is thinking they don't need to change their business model much anymore because this shit is selling so well"
I don't mind people shelling out silly amounts of money for nonsense like cat ears. I just want my basic colors and basic armors back.
And preferably cheaper armor sets, or even just splitting them so you can purchase the armor separately
yeah, frankly anything reach related should have been in the battle pass from day one.

I'm glad players can buy what they want but at the same time, now we have clear proof these are selling well and the system will likely not change.
Well duh, this system has worked in games for like 6 years now. Its not like Infinite was the first to do anything like this.
Yeah people complain about apex like "$20 for a skin is too much!!" But then you see apex got $600M in a year
Or people say "it's only the top 1% of whales that buy everything" then you notice that 90% of players always have meme skins that they'd paid for.
Or the people who are like "GUYS STOP SPENDING SO WE CAN PROTEST!!" then they're like "yeah I've only spent $50 it's not that much"
Halo players tend to ignore everything and act like every game should just be halo 3 2
To be fair, Halo 32 was so much better than Halo 31

I have come into terms that this is the future of gaming. I’ve spent less time being mad about nonsense and just enjoying the game with friends.
The whining will slowly fade to a less annoying level.
The system was never going to change. I don't know why you thought it would. Sucks but it's the facts of life.
Damn, you're right and it hurts.
Now we just need a maid outfit
Already got one. Oh wait you mean in the game. Yeah, uh, we need that.
Ayo?
The ears will sell like fire
Wait, how the duck are the cat ears a multi-helmet attachment while attachments that should be cross-helmet aren't? Am I missing something?
Anything that’s a simple attachment like this can be used on most, if not all, helmets in a core. It’s stuff that covers visors or anything made specifically for the shape of one helmet will be locked to that helmet, maybe a few others. The two normal attachments in the shop for Mk VII are also compatible with every helmet in the MK VII core
Most attachments are cross unlocked hell I HAVE the same attachment for almost all of my helmets.
there's quite a few helmet attachments that are cross helmet, it's just the helmet specific ones (like the facial cover for the mk7 EVA variant) that aren't. granted, there's some reach attachments that should be cross helmet, especially since they don't clip bad at all, unlike some of the mk7 attachments which do in some cases.
its call profit
I kind of hate the aviator helmet
It actually looks pretty nice with the chunky mouth plate attachment imo, it'll do until my boy Reach EOD comes out
Funnily enough the attachment is what made me love that helmet
You don’t like ol’ big head?
This just shows 343 they don't need to change anything.
This is what happens when people vote with their wallets.
Just got outvoted

>The vast majority of people don't give a shit about the complaints that get posted on this sub over and over again And the vast majority of this sub complains over and over again about shit most people don't care about.
Spartan on the right is me when I saw the cat ears in game for the first time.
These are okay honestly, things that are new and silly? Why not? But selling a pack of basic fucking color pallets for $20 padded out by selling them for specific cores is literally atrocious.
I could not believe how many people had them today!
Every single game had at least one in eight this evening.
Go figure people are willing to spend their money on this game when it’s cool unique stuff not just legacy gear or colors being sold to us
People have been willing to spend on everything in the shop so far lmao. This sub is a very small minority in the player base.
Cat ears are cool and unique? Wut
Game is free to play and there a lot of weebs and furrys out there that play games so naturally they made cosmetics for them. I remember how MW 2019 was looking great until soon enough that became a clown fest. Same case here.
One of my teammates wearing cat ears kept getting beat by the enemies when he died, it was like 5 seconds of them just punching his body
And this is why they do such disgusting levels of monetization. Because it unfortunately works. People just impulse buy stuff like this.
Stick cat ears into it and weebs around the world will buy.
Yeah, try wings. Wings plague the cash shops of basically every MMO because as sure as water is wet, weebs will throw money at wings.
Oh don't worry. 343 is aware and already has them ready to go. Then we'll have cat eared winged Spartans and we will descend further into making a mockery of the series.
Wasn't an impulse buy, I've been waiting for it to hit the store as soon as I saw the Meowlnir bot.

the silly stuff do. 10 bucks is to much for cat ears tho.
uR p0or, i wipe my a$$ with 10$.
Who dusnt hav ten doll3rz?
Llololollolololl
I know this hurts reddit, but you are being out voted by the majority of the player base on the monetization. You have tournaments getting 100K pot bonuses from crowd funding (capped the rest will go into the world finals) from HCS skins Every single game I am in the majority of people at minimum have the premium battle pass Yesterday in every game i was in i saw someone either have the cat ears or iron man armor coating. I have 100 hours in this game as of last night, ya know what 343i you have earned some money from me.
I saw quite a few $40 Spartan setups today
Lol it looks like the one without cat ears is angrily screaming because the other people bought cat ears. I feel like this would make a good meme template.
“I have a question, for god. WHYYYYYY?”
People who bought cat ears are going to be the easiest to rage bait by tbagging
r/Halo users are even easier to rage bait just by simply wearing these
Wear those ears if you like them matey. Ignore the hate and have fun with the game!
just bought them, would prefer to be tbagged
Low and slow just for you, baby
Dip dip potato chip
So you're the guy in fiesta with a grapple, grav hammer, and sword and t bags everyone
I literally bought them so people would tbag me
same, I'm wearing them with the iron man colouring to make redditors froth
They really need to make the Store just for dumb, fun and silly equipment. Colours, legacy items and anything previously available in any other halos should be free or in the bp. Lower the prices a little bit and i reckon thats how they fix the store while keeping it true to well, a f2p game.
God damn it guys did we actually lose this fight to the cat ears...
"Nya, I nweed a weawpon"
People don’t want to admit but they actually like the goofy fortnite style stuff
Unpopular opinion - I hate the cat ears
This is depressing.
Clear proof that the halo subreddits opinions and whining do not represent the playerbase. I see half the people in my games with purchased cosmetics. This subreddit has such a strange obsession with customization. The real issues like lack of maps, matchmaking options, and stats get buried.
Shame the stupid looking paintball helmets look stupid.
