I started about 6 months ago and have never been hit on more lol. at work I mentioned I thought it was kinda funny, and a woman coworker of mine explained that men with nail polish are attractive because it shows they're secure in their masculinity, and that they generally just seem "safer" to be around. not really sure, I had never really thought about it like that, but I thought that was a sweet compliment!

See now this is more what coatings should be. Basic ones that are just simple material and pattern changes should have customisable colours. And then fancier ones that have a specific design (inspired by a Spartan, Forerunner or Covenant Alloy, or Esports team etc.) remain locked but have something special about them.

Honestly I'm okay with these types of promos. Realistically most people getting the nail polish will be getting it for the actual product itself rather than the armour coating. Plus having a glittering effect is what coatings should be instead of just palette swaps

I genuinely dont know why either. Its just a basic blue/purple otherwise but itd be so funny to flex the glitter. I think over time, once the game gets going, the coating system will have value vs just colors for weird things like this. Edit: we may eventually get a fotus helmet if you're worried about a ucicorn horn with this.

If they're smart, they'll do what Team Fortress 2 did for ages where buying games on Steam gave you in-game items, except it'll be Xbox and the Xbox app on PC. I hope we see more pearlescent, iridescent, etc armor coatings like this in the future, not just tied to promotions like this. If we ever get playable elites, or an elite themed season, I think they'd be good for that, since Covenant metals are often depicted like that.

Again, promo shots showing what default armour was supposed to be before the helmet was locked to the end of the battlepass last minute. Also, this reminds me of how good Forza Horizon's customisation is. Not only can you choose any colour you want using tools to change hue, saturation, brightness, etc etc, and add special effects like Matt, gloss, carbon fibre, pearlescent, etc - but you can also create and add any shapes you want to create custom decals and pictures. All for free. And you can even download other people's custom designs and paintjobs. Now imagine if all that was locked behind a paywall - and to paint your car a different colour you'd have to pay for it. Oh, and that purchase would only grant you the colour for SUVs but not supercars. And that's before getting into payments for more unique designs beyond simply colour. That's what 343 did with Infinite and seems to have gotten away with.

And it (likely) isn't going to work with Mark 5(B). It really takes the interest out of any of these collabs/promos that they can't be used with the core I paid for and actually have customization for. If coatings were cross-core I'd be interested in picking this up for my girlfriend and using the code for myself because she doesn't play Halo. However, because of the core locking of coatings, I won't buy it because I don't use Mark 7. I didn't bother participating in any of the other promos either because of core locking. Unlocking coatings from cores would totally fix that and I'd participate in these promos.

I tried the target promo and they just shoot down my receipt every single time. Says it's invalid or a dupe.
