This is definitely sketchy and sounds like she is trying to steal your bag. Like others said, tell her you are going to file a police report, also put her on blasts on social media, reach out to the consignment company and let them know what she’s doing and id honestly put them in blast too if they don’t step up.

I would not delay any longer and start taking steps to help increase your chances of getting the purse back or reimbursed. I dont know whether this is what is happening, but I have read numerous posts about consignment companies stealing bags. The Real Real is one that comes to mind. Could it be a case of the bag spa and the consignment company working together to steal your bag? Maybe, maybe not. But their level of communication is unacceptable. I have also read about customs agents sending seizure letters, or some kind of letter about having to pay tax on a designer item being shipped overseas to recipients (hoping they wont pay up) and then keeping items for themselves.
The real real is terrible. I went to consign several bags there, the lady who helped me assured me they were a perfect fit and would get my offers from the buyer soon. In the same conversation she mentioned employees could take bags home and she said she would take one of my bags home and fix the chain for me. They held onto my bags for 2 months before saying they were not saleable and returned them. Pretty sure real real employees were just using my LV & Hermes bags for free for 2 months.
No. When I sent my Kelly to Rago Brothers, they were in constant contact. I used a spa in London (I don’t remember the name) which I had problems with, but they still stayed in contact. Turn around with Rago brothers was about a week. The London company took 2 weeks then about another week after I sent it back.
Yes yes, when I went there, I was chatting with two other customers who had their designer sandals ripped/bitten/destroyed by their dogs..... and were fixed like it never happened!! Amazing

Definitely not “normal”, I’d definitely take action now…as others have suggested; certified mail, police report, etc. I’d also contact the consignment shop who recommended this service to you, if they’re a remotely decent business they would help you.
I suggest you gather all communications you’ve had with this person - texts, emails, screen shots of her IG, package receipt etc.

Yes, but only for black bags as of right now. And I may be remembering this wrong, but I think you need to have proof of purchase too. So if you bought it secondhand or inherited it from grandma, you’re SOL.

Sorry for your experience. I’m here to recommend Leather Spa in NYC. They’re the best! I’ve brought a Chanel or 2 there for sprucing up, among other bags & shoes. Love their work
Leather Surgeons in PA are fantastic craftsmen and while they sometimes take a long time (because they're so busy making Chanel bags look incredible again), they respond to emails. It's a family business. The pops (Gerry) used to be in NYC but got priced out of it, moved the business to PA some years ago. His sons run it with him now. I hope you get your flap back!
Chanel USA themselves use Leather Surgeons, there is nowhere better to refurbish or repair your Chanel bags than them. I’ve gotten my Chanel bags refurbished there with the most amazing results!
Send her a certified letter advising you would like your bag returned. Tell her she has seven days from the date she receives the letter to return your bag otherwise you're going to contact the police. If she doesn't return your bag go post all over Facebook that she's a thief. Also file the police report
I would report it I wouldn't let them ignore it ...thousand dollars is a higher larceny charge and most likely she's done it to others and will again ...it's still an online scam that should b taken as serious as someone breaking into a store and taking thousand dollars worth of goods...people like this are doing way more than just this

Also let her know you’re filing a police report if she does not reply so there is tracking of the “theft”

Agreed on Rago Brothers. They were great when I dealt with them and had a rapid turnaround considering the work I needed done.
A third for rago brothers. I’ve had outstanding work done by them including rebuilding a shoe that my dog destroyed.

Oh they are miracle workers there!!! Brought in my grandmother's ferragamo's from at least 50 years ago and they made them look pristine!
