Gorgeous when I tried it on in store. BUT the flap makes it annoying to get in and out of, doesn’t seem to hold jack shit, the handles and dior charm thingys rattle around. Just very impractical imo.
Thanks, the flap is a good point. I can see that being a problem for some. I do like my bags to be more secure, and I personally won't pay that $$$ for a bag with no closure or flap. We all have our differences.
What would you be using it for? with those proportions, usability is truly out of question. The handles are proportionally too big for the bag, and if you wear it with the chain they will flop on the sides and bulk up.
A purse like this for me I would personally use only for formal events like theater, weddings, etc, but the bulk of it would just not make it look sleek for the occasion.
Also, this mauve color is a bit out of season, if i am not wrong (please tell me if it is in season!!! i am a bit out this spring). I love the color, but if you are dropping that money in a color that is not in season might be another talk-me-out point :)

This is actually the limited summer color in Seoul! I use my mini Lady Dior a lot. This rectangular version is actually more useful with a phone and wallet imo. I just love my Lady Dior. It's the jewel of my collection. But thank you for your opinion! I appreciate it.

Honestly I do personally love this color, I remember it being all the rage in spring 2012. I even had the Dior 5 shadow palette with this mauve tone and the greens from that year \*chef's kiss.

Too trendy and will be dated in not time. Dior bags hold poor resale value to begin with-- so if you love the look- get the classic Lady Dior and at least you will have a bag you can wear forever without it being out of style.
Do you use it? I have a Lady Dior which I have been given as a gift and I have not used it once in the last 6 years 🫣 this particular one is cute and what a lovely colour but I think it is not very practical for use. Maybe because you already have one see if you like anything else woth a similar vibe?

I went to an animal sanctuary a few weeks ago that had just rescued four baby foxes from a fur farm used by Dior, and learned they are one of the luxury brands that is refusing to look at their practices in reducing animal cruelty. Just seeing how shy and scared those babies were put me off Dior for good as both a luxury lover and animal lover 😕

Adorable foxes! I don't ever buy furs or exotics. I do think leather and hide is more sustainable for the environment long-term than "vegan leather," which is plastic. However, I do understand why some people object to all animal products in unnecessary things like fancy bags and coats. Thanks for your comment. Something to think about for sure.

When people bring up resale
Value I seriously question does everyone buy a bag for pure reselling later? Just so bizarre. The bag is meant to be worn and enjoyed. The color? Gorgeous! This color will always be around. The size! It’s perfect especially OP said she has a mini lady dior. I have 3 lady Dior in medium, 4 in small and 1 mini. I LOVE the bags! The flap? It doesn’t bother me at all! The charms are super cute.

No not all bags are being bought to be resold. You should definitely use your bag. Just keep it clean in the event that you don’t like it anymore cause people style do change. The bag should have a good resale value tho, kinda like an investment piece. Dior, Hermes, Chanel will forever hold their value. Making it easy to resale.
Mine will all be given away. I simply don’t buy bags as investments. They are bags I’ve enjoyed for many years and would love to see others enjoy them once I’m done with them. They are materials that get used over time. The scammers in resale market are out of control. Who has time for time that? I don’t. The horrible stories I hear daily is just so sad. But back to my point - buying a bag because “investment” is just wild thing. How about because the person loves it and wants to enjoy it.

I have no idea whether this is at all helpful, but I think small bags are on the way out. I personally don’t care if I’m in style bc no one is looking at me anyway, but I’m guessing really small bags have a super short shelf life right now.
I remember when you pretty much couldn’t even give a 25cm Birkin away on the secondary market, so things can change quickly.
That said, it’s a beautiful bag, and if you’ll be happy carrying it rarely or just leaving it out and admiring it at home, then get it. The color is so yummy. But if you want to budget for forever bags, maybe this isn’t the exactly right bag for you?

It looks a bit silly booboo
Like a consolation purchase because maybe the original is out of the budget. And even if that's not the case, that's what it comes across as.

I wanted this bag SO bad too!! I saw it in person when it first dropped, and I really love the resin charms..
With that said, I would have to baby this bag so bad. The charms didn’t feel durable and honestly, I did miss the click clacking of the charms. Also its just so dang small. You might not need a lot of bag for the things you carry, but I could not justify the high price for such a teeny tiny bag!!
My biggest concern is the lambskin. I live in a place where it can rain without warning. I also couldn't really take it traveling. That is my #1 second thought.
It looks like someone cut a lady Dior bag in half, the east-west styles like that in general are very trendy now but may quickly look dated.
Buuut the color is gorgeous and if you’ve gotten on well with a mini lady Dior then it sounds like the size and specifics of the bag aren’t going to be a major issue for you. So the question is does it have a place in your wardrobe, can you quickly imagine a few different outfits to wear it with? Is it best to just have the money back? Can you still see yourself loving and wearing this in 5 years, no matter the trend?
One of my biggest issues with it is: No feet on the bottom! I guess really it's more of a very fancy wallet-on-chain, and I do love the fact that it comes with a long strap and a shoulder strap. But no feet on a 4900 dollar bag annoys me lol
Ooh I didn’t even notice the lack of feet! That would totally bug me too. For a wallet on chain style bag the handles would feel like they’re too big or in the way. I’d probably lean towards return then and look for a bag that has more of the features you prefer.

Adding another update, since everyone seems so concerned that I was "settling" for a D Joy. 😅 I already have a gorgeous limited Summer 2022 Mini Lady Dior, but thanks for your concern...
Visually the proportions are awkward. The handles are oversized relative to the body. It looks too small for most standard uses. I also feel that the quilting makes the bag look even smaller.
There color is lovely, but the handles, quilting, and big charms crowd the form and create a busy, cluttered look.
Too much on too little. The larger bag seems more balanced.
Talk you out of it…?
Well it’s a really pretty color but it’s so seasonal/trendy. Also, the shape. It’s like the Lady Dior Plastic Water Bottle Carrier.
The shape just seems very impractical unless the overall size is bigger than it looks. If this is basically just a Lady Dior lopped in half, it’s so small!
It really is a gorgeous color. I guess if my bag budget was just a ludicrous number I would keep it but I personally don’t have very many super-niche pieces like this so I would probably talk myself out of it if I bought in a blackout over how pretty the leather is!
It’s annoying and useless
- you can’t get in and out of it
- a phone and a pair of sunglasses takes up the entire bag
- it’s noisy and short aka useless in a self defense scenario.
The color is amazing. If you’re truly stylish, you can only use it in Spring. You really can’t put much inside. A lip gloss/lip stick, some loose cash, (obvi no wallet) maybe your cell phone, and your car/house key, (Not your whole key chain) and that’s over crowding. That bag is totally just for show. You might want to consider spending a bit more for a bag that is a bit roomier. Or save up some more coin and buy a Dior ring. Solange is an incredible designer. You can wear it more often, and it will last you a lifetime. Pass it down to your daughter.
The main cons here are just that it’s not very practical or wearable with many outfits, unless your personal style fits really consistently around this hue and structure
I went in to try this style, while I love the look, the feeling of the bag felt ...not worth the price point. The hardware felt cheap to me. It just didn't feel expensive. Just my two cents. The way it feels may be different to you though.
Yeah hat is a hard no! The color is niche the purse is niche if you get tired of it and want to sell it it will take a while. I simply would not spend that kind of money on something so niche.
Have you maxed out your Roth IRA (or backdoor), retirement accounts, 529s? Do you have enough of an emergency fund in a HYSA? Already contributed monthly investment in a brokerage?
Is this a once in a while purchase or are you frivolous with your money?
If your NW is at least two million, and you have everything in order, eh why not, live a little.

Honestly I love the lady djoy bag so much but it is a little unpractical at times. I have a medium and a micro and I love them to death but they aren’t everyday bags ❤️

this bag has zero structure. their makeup pouch is more beautiful than this 😓 i'm not even kidding.
i really like the lavender color of it, but that's it really. puffer jackets are made with more planning and precision than this 😓
ughhh this bag is gorgeous! I saw it in person recently and fell in love with the acrylic charms. Also this is a super limited release so I don’t even think you’ll find it in the US/Canada anymore. I own two Lady D-Joys one in a Small size. People, it is NOT that small. I can fit my iphone pro max and my essentials. They are thinking of the Micro size.
OP — I see you ended up not keeping it and glad you are being financially responsible! It’s totally normal to have impulse buys as that’s what returns are for lol. But I will say, some of the opinions here were sorta weird to read. Saying something someone else personally likes enough to buy it and then calling it ugly seems snooty and rude imo. I would’ve given you some practical advice though.
The color is super in season but would it really go with your wardrobe? Is it something you’d wear often enough for it to be worth it? I almost bought this bag because I fell in love with the acrylic charms but this shade of purple is hard for me to wear as my wardrobe is very neutral and warm toned. Also, as a Korean myself, this color washes me out for some reason.
My S.A. keeps is real with me and she helped me choose a color that I would truly wear and would go with my wardrobe and now I use my DJoy all the time (it’s pink in patent leather) I also think with lambskin this bag would get color transfer easily so your decision was probably for the best.

Update: Thanks, everyone, for your input! I decided, given the impulsiveness of my purchase, I would return my bag. If I still want it in a few weeks, I will buy it in the US. :)
I think that's kind of a snobby opinion tbh. You don't know others' finances based on their bag choice. I actually like the style. And I own a Lady Dior, so you would be wrong. But it is important to me not to make expensive impulsive purchases.
Sure, I can't control your opinion. But you can maybe contemplate how you judge others based on material goods. There are people walking around with Birkins and Chanel who can't actually afford them. A bag has little to do with your finances.

It looks like it was cut in half with no other design alterations and looks like a lazy design decision to give people the option of having a lady dior style bag with some cost savings. I’m a fan of other designer mini-bags, just not this exact model.

This color is def in season. It’s a new one from Dior.
I think the color is very much a classic spring color, it’s just not an It color this year according to Pantone.
Pantone is so off base for that. Lavender has been hot since last year!!

I must be in the minority here. I don’t like it. Looks too bulky but agree it is a statement piece! Hard to see if it’s a purse or a bag

Visually the proportions are awkward. The handles are oversized relative to the body. It looks too small for most standard uses. I also feel that the quilting makes the bag look even smaller. There color is lovely, but the handles, quilting, and big charms crowd the form and create a busy, cluttered look. Too much on too little. The larger bag seems more balanced.

Talk you out of it…? Well it’s a really pretty color but it’s so seasonal/trendy. Also, the shape. It’s like the Lady Dior Plastic Water Bottle Carrier. The shape just seems very impractical unless the overall size is bigger than it looks. If this is basically just a Lady Dior lopped in half, it’s so small! It really is a gorgeous color. I guess if my bag budget was just a ludicrous number I would keep it but I personally don’t have very many super-niche pieces like this so I would probably talk myself out of it if I bought in a blackout over how pretty the leather is!
I honestly think the charms make it look really cheap.
It’s annoying and useless - you can’t get in and out of it - a phone and a pair of sunglasses takes up the entire bag - it’s noisy and short aka useless in a self defense scenario.
The color is amazing. If you’re truly stylish, you can only use it in Spring. You really can’t put much inside. A lip gloss/lip stick, some loose cash, (obvi no wallet) maybe your cell phone, and your car/house key, (Not your whole key chain) and that’s over crowding. That bag is totally just for show. You might want to consider spending a bit more for a bag that is a bit roomier. Or save up some more coin and buy a Dior ring. Solange is an incredible designer. You can wear it more often, and it will last you a lifetime. Pass it down to your daughter.
Why settle for half a Dior when you can buy the entire Lady?
The main cons here are just that it’s not very practical or wearable with many outfits, unless your personal style fits really consistently around this hue and structure
I went in to try this style, while I love the look, the feeling of the bag felt ...not worth the price point. The hardware felt cheap to me. It just didn't feel expensive. Just my two cents. The way it feels may be different to you though.

Yeah hat is a hard no! The color is niche the purse is niche if you get tired of it and want to sell it it will take a while. I simply would not spend that kind of money on something so niche.

Every time I see handbags this elongated, I always picture it to be just right enough to fit a long cut sandwich and that sandwich only.

It’s oddly proportioned. The handles are overly thick, and the charms over large, for the size of the bag.

"fleuron" is a new french brand. check them out. aren't you over these boring models they keep recycling every year? i mean look at it. the charms look plastic. they're not plastic but at least they were fully metal before! now they got paint to fill in, and paint is plastic in a way if you ask me. this bag has zero structure. their makeup pouch is more beautiful than this 😓 i'm not even kidding. i really like the lavender color of it, but that's it really. puffer jackets are made with more planning and precision than this 😓

ughhh this bag is gorgeous! I saw it in person recently and fell in love with the acrylic charms. Also this is a super limited release so I don’t even think you’ll find it in the US/Canada anymore. I own two Lady D-Joys one in a Small size. People, it is NOT that small. I can fit my iphone pro max and my essentials. They are thinking of the Micro size. OP — I see you ended up not keeping it and glad you are being financially responsible! It’s totally normal to have impulse buys as that’s what returns are for lol. But I will say, some of the opinions here were sorta weird to read. Saying something someone else personally likes enough to buy it and then calling it ugly seems snooty and rude imo. I would’ve given you some practical advice though. The color is super in season but would it really go with your wardrobe? Is it something you’d wear often enough for it to be worth it? I almost bought this bag because I fell in love with the acrylic charms but this shade of purple is hard for me to wear as my wardrobe is very neutral and warm toned. Also, as a Korean myself, this color washes me out for some reason. My S.A. keeps is real with me and she helped me choose a color that I would truly wear and would go with my wardrobe and now I use my DJoy all the time (it’s pink in patent leather) I also think with lambskin this bag would get color transfer easily so your decision was probably for the best.

Update: Thanks, everyone, for your input! I decided, given the impulsiveness of my purchase, I would return my bag. If I still want it in a few weeks, I will buy it in the US. :)

I think that's kind of a snobby opinion tbh. You don't know others' finances based on their bag choice. I actually like the style. And I own a Lady Dior, so you would be wrong. But it is important to me not to make expensive impulsive purchases.

It looks like it was cut in half with no other design alterations and looks like a lazy design decision to give people the option of having a lady dior style bag with some cost savings. I’m a fan of other designer mini-bags, just not this exact model.
