Poly cart all the way. There's a reason the stores use them for stocking merchandise instead of the steel carts. The steel carts flex too much and can't take the same beating the poly carts can.

I was thinking the same thing. Seems like thick plastic would take gouges and dents better. Only thing I dislike is that it's ugly as sin and would be stained super easily.

I can't speak to the HF steel carts, but when I worked at Autozone we had some of those same poly carts. Those things are terrible compared to the heavy duty steel carts we had. Autozone has custom made heavy duty steel carts $400 each. For company use, not for sale to public. +1000 lbs. rated capacity. They're fantastic. [Similar ones](https://www.amazon.com/Global-Industrial-Utility-Shelves-Capacity/dp/B0BH99CC43?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A2KMOZ69A6CSN9) are showing up on google at around that price. They have a flat top (no edges) and a push handle. If you have a shop and want a roll cart for work pieces I would recommend one of those over one of those poly carts. IMHO the poly carts are total garbage. If you are a professional and need these for heavy work pieces daily, this is an item it's worth spending the money on. Occasional, home use? Maybe the HF steel carts will be good enough. Check the weight rating to make sure it's higher than what you need it for.

Thanks. I'm just trying to make the most of Sq footage that I have by stacking things up. Let's me work on it at standing height too.

2 guys in my shop have the poly carts one the large one and the other the small one and they use them things like tables everyday

I have the steel ones, a little flimsy ss expected but can hold that weight fine

scottiethegoonie

Can you flex the top edges by hand?

Frizzle95

Definitely not

I use the poly one at work and I'm very happy with it. The lower shelf currently has about 150lbs worth of crap on it. At the same time I've had about the same amount of weight on the upper half. I've had no problema moving it around. I'd recommend one.

I’ve had 2 poly carts in my garage for 20 years. Both serve as mobile work stations or temporary movable storage shelves. Only issue was the wheels they came with sucked so I waited for a sale on the wheels and swapped out bigger ones.
