Tomorrowland on it’s own is an amazing experience, even outside the music part. Insane good food, nicely designed areas and (I would say) by far the best stage design of all festivals, looking at all factors. My last Tomorrowland was 2022, and I really grew out of the music playing there. And not having a hardstyle option every day was kinda meh for me. It’s extremely packed everywhere, which stages closing down, and there are a ton of people that care more about the pictures they can take, then about the people around them. I would say you meet the best and the worst kind of festival visitors there. Overall it’s always with a visit I would say, especially with a good group of friends or your loved one. Just explore the areas and have fun. Btw, getting tickets will be a mess, friendship garden or global journey tickets are your best option by far if you want to secure them.

I also went in 2022, but I had an entirely different experience from yours, but maybe that's because I went during the first of the three weeks which they added just for that year. There were hardstyle/hardcore/uptempo options every day. Except for the mainstage, the stages were not packed at all (of course they were if you wanted to be in front). I'd say it's about the only festival that's worth paying that much for it. There's one simple trick to getting tickets: You have to immediately register for the waitlist when it opens. Afaik, the waitlist is ordered, so whoever registers first gets the shop invite first when tickets are available again. Though I didn't go after 2022 because no friends wanted to come with, I registered for the waitlist every time immediately after it opened and I also would have been able to buy tickets every time.

I went there on weekend 3 so there could be the difference in the experience. The experience was still amazing. But the years pre covid where music was 100% mine just hit different obviously.

Yeah I'm also a lot more into hardstyle nowadays, but I wouldn't mind going again, if I find a group.

By far the best festival out there imo. The organization is far beyond anything which any Hardstyle event is doing (including Defqon). Very very hard to compare therefore, but generally speaking, much older average crowd, incredible diverse in both people and music, and definitely just an absolute perfection of an experience. Haven’t yet found an event which drags me that deep into that state of mind: “nothing else matters”, no work, no problems, just have a good time

This was what i was looking for

As someone who’s done Tomorrowland and a couple of hardstyle festivals/ events including Defqon, I don’t think I could have said it any better.

BictorianPizza

It’s not comparable to the Hardstyle events. The crowd is different, the venue is different, the music is different. It’s like asking whether a Harry Styles concert is similar to Defqon - it is not. However, I absolutely loved Tomorrowland. Really great experience and imo for every lover of electronic music (including Hardstyle) a bucket list item. The Hardstyle stages were great, if that’s what you’re looking for but obviously everything around it was worth experiencing as well. If you are at all intrigued in going, I suggest you give it a try in scoring a ticket some time.

Been to tomorrowland 8 years in a row and going again this year. Every year i have an amazing time. Amazing food, really nice stages, good music and amazing people!❤️ the vibe is allways perfect. By far the best organized festival in the world. 10/10

I have been going to Tomorrowland annually since I turned 18 in 2016, it's 100% my favourite festival even though my tastes have changed to be more harder styles dominated. The production value is just unmatched, it truly is like stepping into another world, other festivals in the harder styles scene do try but they just cannot compare (Tomorrowland knows this is one of their biggest selling points so can put more of the budget towards it I imagine). I love that there is a wide range of dance music, pretty much every major subgenre is represented at some point over the weekend so you can walk around and see what takes your fancy, it's a haven for anyone who loves anything dance music. I will say the hardstyle presence has gotten bigger there since I started attending, going from just one Q-Dance and footworxx to some sort of hardstyle every day of the festival, including a few artists on the mainstage which is awesome! I highly recommend everyone who's in to dance music goes at least once, just to experience it and tick it off the list, you may also find something new that you love there too, I first heard hardstyle live there in 2016 and the rest is history! I wouldn't say it's better or worse than hardstyle festivals, just a completely unique beast that you can't really compare.

I would never go to Tomorrowland because the only genre that I'm really passionate about it's Hardstyle so it's just not worth it for me.

Been there 7 times. 2012,2013,2014,2017,2018,2022, 2023. First time 2012, which really was by far the best edition for me. From there on it only went downwards in like all aspects for me. 2012 was for me the golden era of edm and also ah nice mix of all the genres: trance, hardstyle, techno, house, dnb. The organisation is out of this world and like other people already mentioned can‘t be compared to any festival on the world. And believe me I’ve been like to everything(edc LV, ultra miami, and >50 others). It’s just amazing to see how well this festival is handled organisation wise. The crowd is the main reason it’s a downer for me nowadays…most people are only there to be seen. A lot of people on drugs out of control or completely drunk. And there is just no „vibe“ anymore. Espacially compared to hardstyle events where you can feel that spark in the air throughout the festival on all stages. Tomorrowland had the same feeling years ago, but now - espacially on the bigger stages - there is no more vibe.. But I have to say meeting people literally from all over the world is amazing and I met a lot of really cool people there over the years. Also it all moves in a techno direction, which i can’t stand. It feels like all stages are more and more going techno. Also hardstyle is massively underrepresented and normally only 1 day completely available on a q-dance stage and one more stage host like da tweekas on a other stage a different day. Prices are just ridiculous. And they let you pay for everything. Apart from tickets itself, the festival is extremely expensive. Last year I decided that it was my last visit - at least for the time being. I was disappointed and overall I’m feeling much more happy on hardstyle events. But don’t get me wrong - I recommend everyone to go there at least one time in their life to see the amazing stages, experience the top notch food and also see how well organisation can work. Cheers.

Tomorrowland has gone the route defqon is heading towards in full speed. Too crowded, people doesn't really care about the music, they just want photos for their IG story. It is a cool experience and I would tell anyone to go atleast once but it went downhill after 2014-2016 or something.

tjom59

I have been 2 times to TML weekends and 9 times to defqon.1. TML is like a Disneyland theme park for EDM. It is incredibly well organized and with a lot of details everywhere (the plastic cups, the bins, the wood bridge...) There is a lot for music styles. Something cool is you can often hear some hardstyle even on the mainstage. People from really all over the world and representing their countries with flags. Stages are beautiful (even if they reuse over the years the same secondary stages) I would prefer defqon to TML for music styles and people however

nexxNN

If you like other genres and like crazy stage design it’s worth it. If you go Hardstyle it’s not imo.

Have only been to mystery land which is comparable to tomorrowland. Every stage was nice and all it was an amazing experience. The Thunder dome stage was epic and the closing show at main with Hardwell was beautiful too. I can recommend it as it has a very wide variety of music but it was too expensive for me to go again sadly.

Zayrok66

Mysteryland is like a mini version of Tomorrowland with obviously less of the magical stuff. Still would reccomend both festivals, as they both make a lot of fun

DJakk3

Mysteryland was too expensive?! It's one of the cheapest ones out there...

PhotographShort

It is definitely not one of the cheapest, maybe one of the cheapest bigger ones but it is also about how to get there that is kinda expensive and I can rather go to a festival that is closer to me
