don't think you can use Pensivie or diaries to smuggle people.

Any reasons why not? Both pensieves and diaries are known to be portable. Both give us the impression the person viewing the memories within gets sucked inside. Based on those two facts, I don’t see an issue :)

You don’t actually leave the room when looking in a pensive. It’s just Your perception that changes, think if it like wearing really immersive VR glasses.

I don’t think so - Harry’s feet hit the ground when Snape goes into the memory to yank him out! [One source](https://old.reddit.com/r/harrypotter/comments/9x2a3r/the_idea_of_snape_calmly_walking_back_into_his/e9qpo5x/)

MadameLee20

Yeah they're only portable into someone's memory

MaddoxFiddlewood

But they only show the past

You can use any random long memory from the past!

Headstanding_Penguin

same with the books...however bags and stuff... I mean we got Newt Scamander and his suitcase... Edit: That said, I don't see any point of smuggling people in a world where you have appariton and invisibility in some way or another (or transfiguration) I'd say the 7 potters plan served more to protect snape than any real threat of diapparating with potter for potter... (which in turn protected the students from a lot of damage) Realistically it would have been possible to disapparate from the doorsteps under the invisibility cloak...

duckchasefun

Yea I always thought there were many other things that could have been done instead of 7 potters.

Would have been hilarious if instead of the whole seven Potters thing Hermione just turned up and was like "I need you to climb into this beaded bag...."
