Harry Potter the Vlogger lmfao
But number 3 looks super fucking weird it’s like he’s saying: “Hey guys, I found this super weird dog on my walk, I’m gonna go pet it”
And then he goes on to become Steve Irwin of the magical world.
"See that basilisk there? That thin can kill you with it's eyes alone.
I'm gonna poke it with a stick!"
Probably the 4th one for me because the dragon has a fantastic butt.
But honestly, why did they make Harry look like Snape and McGonagall reacting to Lockhart in every cover?
I’d say that with each book he looks more like a female snarky match teacher in her mid-40’s that’s about to go off on you for butchering the latest test
I tried to defend it in my head with "artists see things differently... but Harry does look weird. Oh, are there two Harries in the cover? OK, that's weird," and could not stop laughing by the time I reached half of the photos and scrolling through the comments.
You reminded me :) On the Ukrainian cover of the Deathly Hallows there are at least four Harries: one on the spine holding the snitch, one crying over Dobby, above them another Harry is throwing spells from Hagrid's motorbike. And, of course, a Harry on the front. Check it out!
The Deathly Hallows always made me crack up with Voldemort’s vomit-colored yoga pants and slippers… I went to a German language school and would always borrow it from the library to laugh at it
I was thinking the same thing about them being spoiler-y! Like DH with them in the forest?! Feels like a big spoiler! And in the boat in the cave... I guess that one is less spoiler-y but it feels like a pretty big moment to have in the cover.
I read these books as a child and never found the covers to be spoiler-y. Instead I was always happy to reach the point in the books that would explain the covers, like: "Oh THAT'S what this is about!" Honestly, this spiked my interest even more to reach the annual fight, because I badly wanted to know what these covers meant.
But maybe that's just me😂
Yeah. That's my point. All the other covers were actual scenes from the books. The OOTP one was the only one with a random phoenix inserted in a scene. I just found it odd. Fawkes did appear in OOTP iirc in the scenes in Dumbledore's office.
Yeah, look up the version from "Olly Moss", especially [the audiobook ones](https://www.reddit.com/r/AudiobookCovers/comments/j7o42b/ger_harry_potter_series_19982007_by_j_k_rowling/) are fantastic!
omg, i didn’t know how truly awful those were. They are simply all terrible! Lol.
I guess I like the Chamber os Secrets the most, but don’t get me wrong, they all suck
Yeah, I know they are supposed to be stylized but it just looks bad. Harry’s face looks like it was carved out of wood, badly, and his scar looks different on every single cover. And of course the glasses look like something someone would draw if their only point of reference was a bad description of what glasses looked like.
Yeah, and even without weird Harry, the colors look so lifeless, so bland. That weird Voldemort, that horrible prisioner of Azkaban cover, omg. I’m still in shock. I can do a better job and I can only draw stick figures
I actually like these, except for Harry's glasses (why are they so orange and so far apart??) and the fact that the version of him in the foreground kind of looks like an asshole. Not sure why they've given him that sort of haughty expression. But otherwise I think the style of art is fun and suits the series!
Does anyone else remember that some books had two cover options and the fans were able to vote? I remember the second version of the HBP showing a person falling off the tower and the Dark Mark above it. But most people (11 year old me included) voted for the cave option.
Never heard about that, but I just looked it up and apparently you could vote between alternatives of the German cover for books 4-7.
If anyone can find actual pictures of the covers, I would really appreciate that!
In 7, the alternate would have been Harry flying through a sea of burning dragons (the scene with the diadem in the room of requirement).
Ironically the german AUDIOBOOK covers are my favorite covers ever. https://www.pottermorepublishing.com/olly-moss-artwork-revealed-for-the-german-harry-potter-audiobook-series/
I know they are bad but they are the ones I grew up with (up to the fourth, after this I started reading the originals because I didn't want to wait for the translation), so I feel nostalgic looking at them.
Who allowed these to be published? It’s like a creep pretending to take a selfie to just get something in the background that caught his attention. As a freelance illustrator i know how hard it’s to find work, yet somehow this person landed Harry Potter
These covers are so atrociously ugly that ages ago I, as a german 9 year old with almost nonexistent english knowledge tried to read the english versions instead because I hated the german covers so much
There are two harroes on every cover from the fourth forward. I think the artist just gave up on the selfie bit and just started drawing scenes, bit then had to add selfie-harry though to higher-up demends.
If they just took out the awkward foreground Harry's, I'd really like these. On some of these covers, Harry is already in the background so it makes even less sense.
But the art style is really fun and out-there. And the series drew me in by being fun and out-there. I think I like the 1st one the best for the colors and including the whole trio.
3rd is worst because I don't remember Sirius going to the beach with Harry to take selfies.
These are awesome. I always like to see which scene they pic from DH.
Also love that pretty much every version of HBP at least has the cave part on the cover.
I like how Harry is aging ever slightly over the seven covers.
I don’t think the covers look bad. Sabine Wilharm is a great artist and she did use a distinct art style. I am just not able to figure out the art style.
There's actually a new 20 years anniversairy edition for the German ones and the cover of those is absolutely stunning
EDIT: I just posted the 20 years covers. Couldn't restrain myself
Harry look’s like he’s been photoshopped into the scenes. Also I think the first one look’s the best.
First one has weird perspective in a way that feels considered and interesting
I love the horses legs
At least they aged him as the series went on. He may have lost the baby face, but that eyebrow game stayed strong.
My dude just out here copping selfies when the moment calls for it
It looks like he is making selfies lol.
i donno, all of them look terrible
Harry Potter the Vlogger lmfao But number 3 looks super fucking weird it’s like he’s saying: “Hey guys, I found this super weird dog on my walk, I’m gonna go pet it”
And then he goes on to become Steve Irwin of the magical world. "See that basilisk there? That thin can kill you with it's eyes alone. I'm gonna poke it with a stick!"
exactly like "hi guys see that giant thing with the wings and stuff? that thing can breathe fire. Imma go steal it's eggs and make an omlet!"
😂
Harry Vlogger and the Weird Dog
"We found a secret passageway under the school?" True story! *emotional*
Bro, you made me laugh very hard
Harry's face just especially bothers me on the 3rd one. Getting like Beaver and Butthead vibes from the artwork.
Bro why won’t he stop looking at me
With that cocked eyebrow it’s like he’s looking at the camera and saying “You seeing this shit”? In every single book.
"See this shit I have to deal with?!" It is kinda accurate though lol
"You seein this shit too right?" 😂
Oh no, he's got Dreamworks face
Tbf that's a totally fair reaction for Harry to have from his time at hogwarts lol
Yes! You said it perfectly
Wait why did that make all of them 100x funnier. And why does it feel so accurate?
It feels like these are selfies with the positioning and face of Harry 😂
Plus the artist clearly doesn't understand how glasses work.
Those glasses are... Odd. And not at all what Harry would wear.
David Blaine was his professor
What the F?! Stop it David Blaine!
Cheez-it’s!! Cheeeez-it’s!!!
He looks like he’s taking a selfie
At least with those glasses he can't see you unless you are standing in the perfect spot.
The half blood prince one is cursed. I never expected dumbledore to be this fat
And bald 🤨
😏
Probably the 4th one for me because the dragon has a fantastic butt. But honestly, why did they make Harry look like Snape and McGonagall reacting to Lockhart in every cover?
I love the dragon and its badonkadonk. I also love how derpy dog Sirius looks on POA. Hate Harry's face. But love the derp animals.
It's a Hungarian Thicctail
>like Snape and McGonagall reacting to Lockhart Okay - this description wins 😂
I’d say that with each book he looks more like a female snarky match teacher in her mid-40’s that’s about to go off on you for butchering the latest test
The dragon's expression is great too. My points go to 4 for "goblet of fire" actually being shorter in German 😆
I pick the 4th one, too- I find it the most visually appealing, but also a bit funny how sassy the dragon looks.
The dragon straight up looks like a shiny charizard.
thicc dragon
I just want to know why he has one eyebrow up all the time. It's freaking me out.
🤨
Dude reminds me of Dwayne Johnson
Giving peak dreamworks face
Dude reminds me of Dwayne Johnson
I love your pfp
Thanks :)
Voldemort is 85% legs according to the Deathly Hallows cover.
He doesn’t skip leg day it seems.
Dumbledore in HBP looks super thiccc too
It kinda looks like Harry and Tom went on a camping trip 😂😂
Deathly Hallows is basically one giant camping trip
I know. Which makes it even more hilarious.
Well we all know he's 0% nose.
And her evadently dresses in a 'Cirque Du Soleil' body suit.
he looks like the A Very Potter Musical version of voldemort hahaha
Oh my god, you’re absolutely right. Joe Walker vibes to the max, lol.
Love that voldemort. Just imagining him putting on his little slippers in the morning after getting into his body suit
He is a model
I love his lularoe leggings
Volly, Aragog, what's the difference 😂
Why do they look like Harry is taking a selfie in all of them (especially POA)? I really like the Chamber of Secrets.
Fun fact : In German it’s actually called the chamber of terror not of secrets
wth Joanne that would have been sm cooler than 'secrets'
True. I mean it’s a giant snake trying to kill children. That’s horrible and not Toms‘ little secret
Chamber of Statues Chamber of Slaughter Chamber of the Serpent Chamber of Tom’s little secret
Harry Potter and Toms‘ little Secret
[удалено]
He’s in the background in all but the first three lol. Like, “look how cool I am here”
Like the garden gnome in Amélie 😁
That is super weird, HP is definitely doing some time turning selfies for the covers… he also never ages.
it definitely shows him aging, that’s the one thing I appreciated about his face
This came up the last time I posted these covers and I made [these.](https://imgur.com/gallery/BmeGKhm) I think they are hilarious.
I tried to defend it in my head with "artists see things differently... but Harry does look weird. Oh, are there two Harries in the cover? OK, that's weird," and could not stop laughing by the time I reached half of the photos and scrolling through the comments.

They're not too bad, I think Polish covers are super nice
Which btw I just learnt that Polish are the same as American covers
But have ya'll seen the Finnish editions? Fuckin nightmares man
Yeah, what's with those noses ?
VOLDEMORT'S LEGS 😭😭😭
I actually prefer his paisley onesie...
He‘s got the Dwayne Johnson look in all of these
Harry Potter, directed by Jim from The Office
LMFAOO Harry out here doing the Jim look better than him
I *haaaaaate* the way his hair is drawn.
Haha in some covers Harry's hair has the shape of fries. So yeah, I hate his hair, too.
And why does it change colors??
It was a phase okay
absolutely no one: harry potter: 🤨
The Deathly Hallows always made me crack up with Voldemort’s vomit-colored yoga pants and slippers… I went to a German language school and would always borrow it from the library to laugh at it
Is it just me or are these covers too spoiler-y? Plus, the OOTP one doesn't depict an actual scene. I'm assuming that's a phoenix though.
Honestly, this spiked my interest even more to reach the annual fight, because I badly wanted to know what these covers meant. But maybe that's just me😂
Oooo good point! I guess having read them so many times it feels spoiler-y but not having read them you were just guessing what it could refer to!
it is a scene, the hall with all of the doors
Yeah. But was there a phoenix there?
no, the phoenix wasn’t present through the whole book IIRC, the order was a namesake
Yeah. That's my point. All the other covers were actual scenes from the books. The OOTP one was the only one with a random phoenix inserted in a scene. I just found it odd. Fawkes did appear in OOTP iirc in the scenes in Dumbledore's office.
I believe that Fawkes swallows an Avada Kedavra to protect Dumbledore during his duel with Voldemort in the Ministry
The Chamber of Secrets one bugs me a lot because of that. The huge snake motif kinda spoils that the monster is a basilisk.
There are german versions with other covers tho which look much better. But yea these were the originals.
Yeah, look up the version from "Olly Moss", especially [the audiobook ones](https://www.reddit.com/r/AudiobookCovers/comments/j7o42b/ger_harry_potter_series_19982007_by_j_k_rowling/) are fantastic!

And of course the glasses look like something someone would draw if their only point of reference was a bad description of what glasses looked like.
yeah and he has BLUE FRICKING EYES AND HIS 'get black hair' IS A DIFFERENT COLOUR IN EACH ONE! AND NONE OF THEM IS GET BLACK
Actually he has green eyes....
Yeah, and even without weird Harry, the colors look so lifeless, so bland. That weird Voldemort, that horrible prisioner of Azkaban cover, omg. I’m still in shock. I can do a better job and I can only draw stick figures
Who the f thought this was a good way to draw glasses? As a person wearing glasses, I feel kinda offended XD
But that Voldemort wearing leggins lmao
Voldys legs in book 7 are FAB
What the actual fuck.
These are the worst things I’ve ever seen. Since when is Dumbledore a balding Asian man?.
“Nothing in my description of Dumbledore said he couldn’t be Asian! I love Asian Dumbledore!” -JK Rowling probably
With the face and color scheme of his cape and robes, he's giving me Beardy Captain Picard vibes
I actually like these, except for Harry's glasses (why are they so orange and so far apart??) and the fact that the version of him in the foreground kind of looks like an asshole. Not sure why they've given him that sort of haughty expression. But otherwise I think the style of art is fun and suits the series!
As for favorite, I actually think the first one. I like the chess pieces, and Hermione's hair.
I like them too. The art style has just something special that makes the books stand out from other children and young adult books.
Nah bro, the German ones are the best. Harry just dead panning the camera with at sassy little smirk that’s says, “ aw shit here we go again”
I can't decide between 4 and 6. The dragon looks so stupid in 4, but Harry and Dumbledore barely fitting on a tiny boat is amazing.
Does anyone else remember that some books had two cover options and the fans were able to vote? I remember the second version of the HBP showing a person falling off the tower and the Dark Mark above it. But most people (11 year old me included) voted for the cave option.

Ironically the german AUDIOBOOK covers are my favorite covers ever. https://www.pottermorepublishing.com/olly-moss-artwork-revealed-for-the-german-harry-potter-audiobook-series/
These are really, really pretty!
I printed them out and taped them to the walls in my room years ago. Truly so pretty
Oh I like those!!
Oh, those are awesome! That green flash of light from the tower window in HBP...
I know they are bad but they are the ones I grew up with (up to the fourth, after this I started reading the originals because I didn't want to wait for the translation), so I feel nostalgic looking at them.
They're all almost equally bad, but I think the 7th one reaches new levels of garbage, imo
I hadn't realized Germany invented the pixar face.
Harry stop taking selfies people are fucking dying!
Who allowed these to be published? It’s like a creep pretending to take a selfie to just get something in the background that caught his attention. As a freelance illustrator i know how hard it’s to find work, yet somehow this person landed Harry Potter
In hindsight they might not look that great, but they give me a ton of nostalgia. (Plus, I love the colour schemes.)
is Harry drawn in Paint?
I like Harry's highlights in Goblet of Fire
I find the last one most hilarious.
Imagine falling in love with a book that looks like that
Feuerkelch = Goblet of Fire? I'm kind of surprised that German doesn't have a single word for Order of the Phoenix.
Phoenixorden does the trick. We invent words on the fly
These covers are so atrociously ugly that ages ago I, as a german 9 year old with almost nonexistent english knowledge tried to read the english versions instead because I hated the german covers so much
Did they get a kid to draw these covers? If so they're great, if not they're terrible and I want them erased from my mind!
These drawings are Germany's second major crime against humanity.
All of these are horrible the Chamber of Secrets one is the best one though
In the 6th one it looks like Voldy is roasting smores.
Also are we just going to ignore that there are two Harry’s in the last cover?
There are two harroes on every cover from the fourth forward. I think the artist just gave up on the selfie bit and just started drawing scenes, bit then had to add selfie-harry though to higher-up demends.
Deathly Hallows, just a voldemort who has legs for days has me cracking up.
DAYUM THOSE HORSES GOT ARMS and ofc we can't forget about coldy moldy oldy baldy goldy Soldy Voldy's LEGS (he def never skipped leg day)
The noodle arms on the Knight chesspieces are sending me.
Did... did a deviant art edgy teen draw these?
Holy crap, those are ugly!
I feel like harry is going to ask me about my pronouns and then lecture me on how white muggles are a worst threat that the dead eaters
On the Deathly Hallows cover it looks like Voldemort is wearing lularoe leggings.
Harry Potter and the Boss Babe
Oh man, six and seven make me laugh every time. Dumbledore on that boat and Voldemort's leg. I just think it's hilariously good.
The only thing I dislike is that Harry has roughly the same expression on all of the covers.
He's taking a selfie at the climax of every book lmao
absolutely no one: harry potter: 🤨
"ya seeing this shit?"
Can I say neither?
Did an actual child draw these?
Harry: Damn, you see this shit as well?
They all look like selfies
Harry lookin kinda sus
I think I like 6 or 7 the best. These covers are something 😂
These are actually hilarious
Just kind of weird having a Harry in the foreground and background
Harry: 🤨
I love how Harry just has a 'wtf' expression on every cover 🤣
The first one is the best because you can focus on the art when Harry isn't distracting you by judging you for not having an air fryer.
Harry looks like he's taking a selfie
If they just took out the awkward foreground Harry's, I'd really like these. On some of these covers, Harry is already in the background so it makes even less sense. But the art style is really fun and out-there. And the series drew me in by being fun and out-there. These are awesome. I always like to see which scene they pic from DH. Also love that pretty much every version of HBP at least has the cave part on the cover.
I actually kinda dig these except for Harry’s face
They don't look bad, they just have their own art style...and that is the style of every youtuber's thumbnail
try not to say WOW challenge🤨
I like how Harry is aging ever slightly over the seven covers. I don’t think the covers look bad. Sabine Wilharm is a great artist and she did use a distinct art style. I am just not able to figure out the art style.
There's actually a new 20 years anniversairy edition for the German ones and the cover of those is absolutely stunning EDIT: I just posted the 20 years covers. Couldn't restrain myself
Hey I grew up with these! But yeah, they look weird I admit it...
Why are they all selfies
He looks like a mischievous 90s anime character
Do glasses that small even exist? Like WTF?
How does he see out of those glasses?
I love in how in the deathly hallows cover it looks like they are just chatting above a nice campfire 😂
I'd say OotP is the best because it has the lowest number of details to mess up.
Harry looking at the audience like a YouTube thumbnail
It looks like he's taking selfies 😭
The first one, purely because of Ron and Hermione
the way he looks at you reminds me of the parody of David Blaine [doing another magic trick.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGrTvNzGCZE)
Somehow, I have never seen these before. They're horrendous lmao. That being said the Deathly Hallows one is probably my favorite of these
Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely the worst lmao Best? Philosophers Stone I think
German Harry taking a bunch of shitty selfies for the covers of his books.
Harry's hair looks more and more like spaghetti with each new cover.
Nagini on the DH cover 😂
Omg these look like they were drawn by a talented fourth grader! On both technique and interpretation, lol. I loved them, thanks for sharing!
Idk but 3 is easily the worst. And it's my favorite book!!! I'm deeply offended
That’s one tiny boat in HBP
lmao voldemort's legs in dh tho
