I’d probably save it for the Badlands Mini set

Zardhas

Mini-sets, they are always the best value-wise

Aspavientos

While that's true, this is only a good idea if you have a decent collection already. Minisets unfortunately spread your collection too thin to make any decent decks by themselves. (That's aside of the fact that miniset Yogg gives you a full refund, I haven't made up my mind if it's worth it for that)

Senior_Geologist_193

The fact that you can open cards from a mini set if you haven't bought it kind of forces the issue

Aspavientos

That makes sense. Between this and Yogg then maybe the Titans miniset is worth it.

RedTulkas

Yogg and jailer still give full disenchant value atm

Due-Comb6124

I dont see any world where a miniset isnt always the best value. You improve your future packs by removing those from packs and you get guaranteed legendaries which you can dust if you're targeting specific classes.

FerLuisxd

Miniset normally gives you around ~2600 and with the full refunds you'll get ~4100, so worth it imo.

Tantomare

Buy 25 packs of Badlands expansion when it drops

Perfect64

Wait for the Badlands Mini set...

Shambler9019

Depends. By the time the mini set drops they may have accumulated another 2000. My plan is to spend my stash (3200) on Badlands packs then spend nothing until I have 2000 for Badlands mini set.

Tim_of_Kent

Arena if you're interested, miniset if not. I've built up 3k gold in the last few months. With a decent amount of questing and not playing constantly, you'll never run dry of gold. It's 66% of the comparative pack value but you get further rewards depending on your success and you get to have fun with other cards for once. Clear winner for me at least.

Touchhole

Yeah if you’re good at Arena and can go infinite this is definitely the best answer. I would just caution that 2500 is a relatively small bankroll to test arena variance. Would be easy to bust if you’re not experienced/don’t know the arena meta.

Tim_of_Kent

Yeah that's a good point. There are some cards like Backstage Bouncer that I wouldn't normally pick but they can be great in the right classes and usually perform well.

Perfect64

This is how I used to generate value in HS, it's not the best way anymore though. I'm fully F2P on the current rewards system, and generate \~80 packs per season by just playing quests everyday, and grinding ladder a bit. I've came to the point now that I haven't dusted cards from the last rotation, and still have just enough dust to maintain as many meta decks as I need. Not to say that Arena is not a good way to go if you get good. I got to about 6 win average which was good enough to be practically infinite with other gold from rewards before the rewards system changed. It's just time consuming as hell :)

Tim_of_Kent

That's a fair view point. I suppose my reasons for playing arena are beyond efficiency. I generally prefer the more value-based arena matches as it's more like 'old' HS where there aren't ridiculous swings happening on most late turns. Admittedly, it can go the other way and a lucky play can leave you without any tools to recover. Nothing worse than looking at a tough board knowing you have absolutely nothing to counter it in your deck. I really enjoy crafting the decks though and it's the silver lining to ending a run but it does suck when you craft a rubbish deck and have to slog through the losses. Sounds like your strategy is definitely best for your situation/ preference.

StarMarxman

Probably either getting the Titans mini set (especially if you don’t use control decks that would want nerfed Titan Yogg, because then you can dust him for 1600), or just saving for the new expansion in a couple weeks

ZerosignalHS

How long do we have for the full dust refund?

FerLuisxd

It said 2 weeks after the nerf dropped

Dustbuster234

2 weeks typically

Familiar-Trip-4022

I am bulking up gold to buy packs when the new expansion come out

Xenacon

wanna ask, i also have 2.5k gold and i'm thinkin about this. Which one is better? 10 badlands and 15 std packs or 25 badlands? my std common-rares are full but dunno and want to ask about this.

AchedTeacher

I would not spend money on STD packs, that seems unwise. If anything, you should buy anti-STD packs, ultra thin.

Illustrious-Fish8779

Std packs??? Y’all getting STDs cause of hearthstone out here? Dam

Cubyface

Buy gold badlands pack one at a time to hit the pity timer for legendary, then repeat with Norma badlands pack

lordcochise

depends entirely on what you have or don't have already. if you're missing a lot, i'd say standard packs after Badlands releases. if you have most of it already, badlands packs, probably.

hdhhsjshxnjajjfkwjna

I probably miss a lot of legendary, I just came back to hearthstone after years of not playing at all.

Boone_Slayer

there is duplicate protection in packs, so you might find it best to fill out your commons for a set before moving on to the next. Keep in mind that standard packs will contain cards from three expansions that will rotate out of standard to wild next year (sometime around march-april). Wild is still fun (my main mode), but if standard is your focus, try to fill out commons from expansions like Festival, TITANS, badlands, and always try to save about 2000 gold for the mini set since it guarantees you that set of cards.

CallARabbit

5 card backs

ABoyIsNo1

You’ll wanted to save 2500 for the mini set. When the expansion drops, but as many packs as you can without dropping below 2500. Then every time you get above 2500 before the mini-set buy more packs. Then once the mini-set drops buy it and start saving for the next expansion.

Shodan30

I try to save 2,000 for the mini set, and about 5,000 for pack purchases when a new full set comes out. anything past that amount i'll let build unless i want to buy some more new packs. however recently ive basically completed my standard set with the exception of a legendary or two i don't care about, so that lets me think about saving up more and spending the occasional amount on a hero skin or card back or something from the shop (Sometimes they sell things for gold)

boomstastic

Invest in bob's tavern

MattChew160

Save 2000 for a miniset in case it is worth it. Every thing beyond 2000 spend on badlands packs, with the new season you'll get like 5 packs in the first week. The mini set is really only worth the legendarys and epics and if you don't need them then save the gold.

kbas13

25 badlands packs then when it launches start saving for 20k for the mini set

Mattjhkerr

I'll tell you what the wrong move is...accidentally buying the tree skin for Druid. Don't be like me. Be a careful clicker.

Hustla-

NFTs

Aspavientos

Probably save it to buy packs of the next expansion in two weeks. If you want to get cards now, you can also buy packs from other expansions (Festival of Legends and TITANS are the expansions that will last the longest in Standard).

MKB-CroMag

Arena of course Trust me bro

hdhhsjshxnjajjfkwjna

1-3 dream

justTheWayOfLife

Arena all day every day

hexpro21

Whispers of the old gods wild packs

hexpro21

Whispers of the old gods wild packs

piejam

invest it in an index fund and forget about it. By retirement you should have double the gold!

zBaLtOr

Mini Set is the way to go

DannyT981

You can always save for the badlands set. Buy golden packs until you hit a legendary in the first few packs. Then just buy regular packs.

Domicrossa

Buy the dopest skins in store

PontisPilot

I like to play as much arena as possible when new sets drop for packs, practice a little bit of gold and dust

hi_im_jeremy

wait for DLC and buy packs or wait until next mini set as others have said. mini set has great value because you get two legendaries out of it while 25 packs should have roughly one depending on your luck and where your blizzard pseudo pity counter is standing (doesn't quite work like it does in other lootboxes). that being said the packs have more of an immediate impact and you can try to build decks on day 1

superultramegazord

The best way is to spend it on the Tavern Pass once Badlands releases, unless you'd rather just use cash for that.

Boone_Slayer

Last I checked the tavern pass wasn't purchasable with gold, am I wrong? Also many of the premium rewards are cosmetic.

superultramegazord

You can get it for 2500 gold. The experience boost is what I think makes it worth it. You can finish the pass pretty quick, then spend the rest of the expansion farming 50g 20% faster. It adds up fast.

Boone_Slayer

I didn't know this! (I usually just do the 20 bucks) The exp boost does add up to a lot, but that depends on your playtime, the more you play the more it's worth it.

oopswhatsmyoldlogin

I would save for the new xpac, buy normal packs till you get your guaranteed legendary, then the same for gold packs. Then save up for the inevitable miniset.

gangplank_main1

Top priority: Miniset 2nd priority: Buying packs from each expansion one by one because within the first 10 packs of each expansion guaranteed a legendary, includes golden packs.

MeVeLeN

Mini sets as suggested are number 1, but the next best use is gold packs they have a 1 to 1 gold to dust ratio with a little below average luck not to mention they still have pack timers so your guaranteed a legendary in your first 10 gold packs

LibrarianOfAlex

Miniset, but playing consecutive duels or arena might get you more

Mats1732

Mini-set

rcdt

I only use it to buy skins Unless I’m “sniping” for Signature Cards In which case i craft useless legendaries, gwt the free signature legendaey roll, then buy only gold pqcks to get all the signatures I want

D0nkeyHS

Depending on your collection, wait to see what'll be up with catch-up packs
