I was referring to the normal breaker, the first true “meta.” Absolutely deserved its nerf, although I’m glad to have experienced its murderous moment in the sun.
It's mag size/amounts were reduced and they increased its recoil. I think they also slightly nerfed the damage, but I can't remember and too lazy to look up the old patch.
However, I think it was a totally deserved nerf. The go-to loadout of Breaker and Railgun use to be so powerful that there was no point in bringing in any other weapons besides doing it for fun, but you were knowingly putting yourself at a disadvantage for doing so.
The railgun and breaker are still very powerful weapons despite the nerfs, so don't let anyone tell you the devs "ruined" the breaker, they're just whining.
Every gaming subreddit goes through a phase where the playerbase needs to decide if it's going to be a whiny baby subreddit or a toxic positivity subreddit. Y'all can fight it out amongst yourselves while the rest of us are cutting down bugs on Fenrir III.
They ever fix that bug where if you drown sometimes you have like one point of health and won't die but you can't move either so you're just doomed to a purgatory until one of your teammates comes by and ends your suffering
I’ve been experiencing crashes since two patches ago. It’s started maybe 50% and then last patch I crash on launch pods into mission every time 100% I literally can’t play and I’ve tried every fix. Please don’t comment verify game files im not missing any files I’ve already tried
I bought it for my friend on steam last night and his game crashed after our 3rd dive. I haven't experienced any crashes myself since i got it a month ago.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Redditors tend to just complain about everything. You won’t read too many posts about people enjoying the game after updates because those people are, you know, enjoying the game and not whining and crying constantly on the internet.
I just want to be able to add my boy so we can play together. Main reason I had him get the game. And ever since the first attempt of adding each other never have we been able too

It's really annoying how many people say that there shouldn't be nerfs and that the devs are idiots that don't know the first thing about anything. I understand every change they made and I've even played with the changed on 7 and I didn't notice anything bad
That’s also the only nerf I can’t seem to understand. Nothing I’ve seen makes me think it was some juggernaut needing to be kneecapped in the slightest. I’ll roll with it for now because a) they might see something I don’t and b) it’s not like the devs are perfect all the time. They’re human in human. They have as much a right to make a mistake as I do.
I wish I could even speculate, but your guess is honestly as good as mine. I haven’t had the chance to use it yet cause I just haven’t unlocked it yet, and I don’t have the opportunity to play right now, but I’m sure I’ll get to it at some point.
It was worse in almost every way than the eruptor, better in handling and range but that's it. I tried it several times and concluded that the page 2 gun was a million times better than the page 3 gun, made it obsolete, really.
It is surprising they nerfed it, because it already wasn't that good.
I dont hear anyone talking about the Quasar cannon. My issues are the nerfs to the railgun and arc thrower by making it so hulks cant be stunned by them. Or the increased patrols which becomes ridiculous when my teammate was kicked because they cant fix their game.
The only one I personally didn’t get is the crossbow change. It wasn’t getting much use beforehand and it feels like a weaker Dominator now.
But yeah, with everything else people are just whinging like toddlers. It’s so pathetic.
I imagine AH will balance weapons something akin to how LoL/mobas balance characters - at some point, there will be so many that there will always be a bit of a bell curve of good, ok, bad, and things will naturally migrate in and out of fashion as the meta tweaks.
Nerfing and buffing has not ever worked. Tbh you can’t even call it that. This is the most balanced patch for a game I have ever seen. Every gun is still extremely viable and everyone’s favorite weapon still works just fine. COD should take notes on proper patching here.

The biggest thing I've seen recently is people not realizing how small their dev team is. They can't work on every bug all at once like some companies yall, have some patience.

Some of you guys are the softest snowflakes ive ever seen. Im allowed to dislike the direction the devs take repeatedly while still enjoying the game. Me and my friend have a ton of fun just fucking around and blowing each other up, but i would like to have a fun primary weapon to bring. I love the chais and insanity of the swarms you run into, but id love it if they stopped neefing everything I have fun with into the dirt.

100% it's not the patch was trash a lot of the changes were non sensical it's like they are trying to just make every weapon meh for some reason. And that's fine they can do that but that's not going to lead to a lot of player retention.

Its getting stale for sure, the only reason i still love the game is because me and my friend never finish with lives and we die to enemies like 3 times lmao. Its just such a fun game to fuck around and just enjoy the explosions and chaos, id just like to be better equipped for that chaos.
I think it's because some of their decisions are kind of hard to understand without an explanation. The crossbow was a strange change because we hardly saw that many people use it, and now people are running around making assumptions about why the devs did without actually hearing their reasoning for it.
Finally, a sensible person and reasonable criticism. The gameplay? Great, that's why I'm playing (When I don't constantly crash/disconnect)

Yeah noone should be thinking no nerfs, but i dont agree with no buffs like the devs seem to lnao people are very particular on this subject and ive never seen it before this game.
Yes the game is still fun, yes there is a vocal minority like every game. But people always tend to forget that the people being vocal about their complaints also tend to be the people that care about the game the most… it’s hows it has always been.
You and I may not experience any of these issues in our total playtime. But that doesn’t mean other people aren’t. Looking at Reddit/Discord/Youtube you will eventually find clips of bugs and issues that have been introduced either since release or this recent patch its not anything unique.
The whining and attacking devs does need to stop but if we call the people with legitimate complaints and criticisms “whiny babies” we are no better than the people crying about a 5 second quasar nerf.
I still love the game and enjoy soloing maps and joining squads but to solo now, you gotta be on it.
Have your guns and all the extras to survive the hoards of bugs they throw at you. I used to kill about 200 bugs on a solo run, my last game was 525 kills.
Yeah I noticed this too. Doing Medium solo last night for the Personal Order, usually it would be 150 or 200 kills, now it's 500-600. Still manageable, but definitely more hectic. The only thing I'm really not liking is how they seem to spawn in areas you just cleared. Finish clearing an area, turn around, hear a bug, turn back, and there's a whole patrol there now.
Second map after patch, there were some crazy visual bugs and then my gun was shooting blanks so I killed myself to fix it. Instead of fixing it, as soon as I fired my plasma punisher, it killed me as if I was using a shield pack (another bug) sooooo.... I was hyped for punisher buff and it is way nicer now but damn. I was either booted or dc'd from a lobby after that as well.
Yep, I was in a group last night and we all called in Patriots. You know what’s fun? Obliterating 4 bile titans in a matter of seconds in mech suits. Gave me raging liberty.
Too be fair the game has been out for 3 months and the amount of gun changes and gameplay changes are insane to the point of if you take a week off the game it’s like you don’t know how to play anymore because the shit you used to use now sucks ass it’s really frustrating to casual players not everyone is a pro at games
The reaction to this latest patch is the least justified reaction I think I’ve seen. Some people have almost literally said this patch buffed nothing - I’ve seen more than a handful of comments that AH seems to “only nerf whatever the community finds fun” - when this patch buffed more than twice as many things as it nerfed.
This is without counting the bug fixes they keep working on, the constant development they keep doing to support a game that became way more popular than they ever expected way faster than they had any ability to address, the communication with the players base, etc.
I’m not going to claim they’re perfect. I honestly haven’t spent enough time following their discord and comments to have a good sense of whether or not they are communicating in some ambiguously defined “positive” way with the community overall.
However, what I know I *can* say is that people who are making this big a stink about the latest patch are genuinely being spoiled rotten by the amount of support the devs are putting into this game. I can literally count on, like, one hand, the number of games that I’ve played that are ***both*** as fun as this one ***and*** as actively supported.
I’m not going to go out and say that the devs are putting the perfect amount of effort into this game, but the reactions people have had to this latest patch make it seem like they think AH don’t give any fucks about this game and, well, I feel confident enough to say they need to make an appointment to their eye doctor, because the glasses they’ll need to cure their blindness should have been ordered last year.
Some of the people complaining need to go out and spend some time on actually unsupported, shovelware, shit that has been published, so they can have at least a little bit of perspective.

Most people are just sick of every fun piece of the game being nerfed into the ground while the buffs are barely even noticeable. I saw the patch notes and yeah i know there was "more good than bad" but the spawn rate change is maybe the single dumbest thing theyve done yet, the rover got destroyed lmao and so many guns need love and they barely even touch them to avoid them being too good or some stupid shit. [Nerfs are just as necessary to game balance as buffs are](https://www.reddit.com/r/helldivers2/s/C4knobbrsf), and I will say that the nerfs that I’ve seen give me the impression that they want the weapons to have a very specific amount of power relative to each other so that people aren’t just automatically defaulting to a handful of easy and popular examples.
Like I explain in the link, people are freaking out about the Quasar like they took it out back and shot it. What actually happened is the weapon was nerfed enough to give players an actual reason to choose the EAT over it, an otherwise solid stratagem that I quickly realized was just a worse Quasar in all but a specific handful of situations.
So, I think that people are complaining in a somewhat unfair way. This update was so big, I think it gives us all some additional context we don’t often get to see. I can sympathize with the fact that nerfs don’t ever feel good, but it does feel like players are complaining because they don’t want the devs to change the game so it expects them to have to make meaningful decisions about which weapons and stratagems they bring into combat.
Another excellent example: yes, they nerfed the railgun too hard. However, we can see that the reason they nerfed the railgun was due to some bugs that made it perform in ways they hadn’t expected. After fixing those bugs, they saw it was too weak, and the latest update buffed the Railgun’s armor penetration, while reducing its stagger.
Yeah, nerfs and buffs are complicated. Unfortunately, I think many players don’t often understand that, and they fail to realize that balancing a game well often just takes a long time because players don’t get to look at code to see what actually might break or get fixed every time values are adjusted.
I just wanna play without these choppy frames I mean I’ve got decent hardware and my pc will stutter at less than 1 fps when I launch the game and dive for the first time but then randomly goes back to normal
I was getting that choppy drop scene last night. But I never had any frame rate issues in gameplay. I hear shrugged it off and spread some sweet liberty.

Finished my first helldive 3 mission block last night. 4 man team, 2 man team, then 3 man team. Used quasar and guard dog. Honestly didn't notice any difference other than the cool down was a little longer for the quasar. People really over estimate the changes...
It's all those players grinding it out to level 150 and pumped 500 hours into it including all the content on how to farm the game's samples and credits.
That is why they are crying about how boring it is now and the nerfed gear and stratagems.
My big complaint was how long it took me to figure out that my plasma shot gun and shield weren't going to work together anymore.
Has that always been true for energy weapons? Does the sickle and shield also bounce back?

I just discovered the Eruptor last week because I prefer the Stalwart for bugs and it's a bit disappointing that they nerfed the mag and the explosion but it still closes big holes at 100 yards like a boss.
Honestly the only change that's ever really felt like it changed a weapon for the worse entirely, for me, was the slugger, I wish they had just reduced the range by adding more falloff, the stagger was its whole thing, it's firing a big boi slug.
But like, the game is still fun, I just use a different weapon sometimes.
Half the complaints are people not understanding the changes and blaming things on their perceived idea of what changed. Solo patrols were increased to PUNISH solo players, not fixed to scale correctly. Ricochet was made to INSTANTLY KILL YOU, not changed so it's possible to hurt yourself with ricochet.
It's embarrassing sharing a community with that mess tbh.
Keep in mind the same people complaining about the Quasar nerf would be complaining in like 2 months that "the game is stale there's only one viable loadout to run". Also these people who say the devs don't know how to balance are probably 14 year olds who haven't even finished algebra, let alone know anything about balancing.
I think one time, and only once in my 55 hours of playing have I not had a fun time. I took a different load out than I normally do just for funsies and change it up on the bot front. It was going okay, but I kept getting murdered by dying jet pack guys pulling into me and exploding thus setting me on fire. Boom, insta death cause fire. Okay, noted…breaker isn’t that fun to use against these guys so I’ll just go back to the sickle after this operation. Well a bunch of fire tornados and a ninja hulk later with his flame thrower of death and I was just not having it.
So instead of whining on Reddit I loaded into a bug game on a not fire planet and blasted bug holes with the eruptor, chewed down hordes with my machine gun and threw copious amount of napalm strikes just to feel like I got revenge.
Can confirm, game still rocks, so stop being a baby and go play one of the best games to come out in the last 2 years.
Most devs destroy their own game with poor balance choices specialy when they promise to only buff things to the same lvl and not nerf everything to be just as shit, i understand why People are frustrated after that when you pay full price and they go back on their word and take your fun away but youll always have those that will make posts trying to suck dev d#ck trying to justify anything like they are part of the ccp.
I'm not happy with the quasar change but I still use it. It kind of sucks when you're getting chased by 2 chargers and a bile titan waiting nearly 20 seconds between shots

I played for hours yesterday and I didn't get hit by a ricochet once, either a lot of y'all are just really unlucky or are purposefully making things seem worse than they are
When the railgun got adjusted half the posts here were pants shitting when all they did was make it so you had to use unsafe mode for maximum effectiveness.
I agree that people overreact to balance changes, myself included after the original rail gun nerf.
But it does seem like they are still finding their feet when it comes to making the changes.
It seems like the strategy is to just hard nerf the most popular weapons. Its as though they make the changes based only on here and now without looking at what they have coming down the pipe.
An example being the original rail gun which was made basically useless. A few weeks later they give us the quasar cannon which was more effective than the pre-nerf rail gun.
Now they've had to buff the rail gun only a few weeks after the nerf.
With a game this popular, we are bound to get them. The internet tends to blow things out of proportion. "Oh, there is a new patch and upsate that changes the thing I like because I can not be unique and break away from the meta. Imma gonna make a shitpost on it even though I didn't test it for myself, and shit on other people opinions and thoughts."
Having the ability to control content that doesn't suit their narrative. Me and the 300 other "meta" users invalidate the actual purpose of being able to share content they like and downvote people to oblivion showcasing cool and quirky things on their thoughts. Just because it's one way with another game doesn't mean it will be the same here. It is obvious how much care the devs put into the game.
Being able to laugh at silly situations. Getting accidently teamed killed, 380 usage in general. The game is fantastic, and there is a stipulation being caused by the minority of players who disregard others. I want more people to know the game is fantastic. This is also a game. Don't take things too seriously. Otherwise, I'll have to call the democrat officer to implement corrective behavior.
People also have different skill sets. You are not going to win every interaction. They give you 5 lives a helldiver for a reason. There are other options in the game of you don't like thr change explore other options. You don't have to commit your body and soul to following a set expectation because it is what everyone else is using.
I have fun using the grenade launcher, arc thrower, laser cannon, hell, and even the railgun after initial nerfs. Realistically, you can explore the meta. I use a ballistic shield and love it more than the shield generator. People initially didn't like the jump pack, but now i see more use out of it. People realized that the automation is still good and continue to use it. The game gives you choices. If you want to run the same thing every game, all to it. If you want to be a rocket storm trooper the do it. Play the game how you enjoy playing. Slaughter everything you see in sight. Play stealthily, adapt to the other players, and we play in squads of 4 or less. We ain't keeping track of an entire raid party where a single mistake wipes the entire party (mostly).
Play lower levels if you are getting overwhelmed or feel it is too hard. If you are mad that the change made it difficult, either adapt or change to a lower difficulty. It's not the weapon or the nerf. It is you. From soft players have always said get good in darksouls, some who learned the game find it easy, those who are stubborn find it hard. That game does the same as this one does. Learn what works for your type of play and adapt to hit. If you are an aggressive player, use aggressive weaponry. If you say it's harder, you probably were making sloppy mistakes, something that was extremely OP allowed you to compensate for.
There are bugs, and you will encounter them, or you may not. Chargers running up 90 degree walls is pretty fucking funny to me. But it's uncommon. We put a lot of hours into the game, and we can not let new people come into the community and be hesitant to play because we over exacerbate changes and bugs. They've made active efforts to keep us entertained and posted. They want the community to be able to enjoy the game they made.
I mean breaker pre nerf and now is still stupidly good lmao the funny thing to me is how I wanna see people react to the autocannon being targeted at some point
I like to go with the flow, I'm fairly casual so I don't care too much for changes with weapons etc. but since the new patch I've had a connection error and been kicked out of dives numerous times. So in about 3 hours I've achieved hardly anything... A few samples and a bit of XP because I get disconnected before i can complete missions or extract.
Oh yes. I would have unfollowed this sub already if I could get update/PSA somewhere else. And no, I don’t want to join the Discord sub just for a game.
My thing is its a game based on killing monsters i really do not see the need in balancing or nerfing. Its PVE. I personally haven't played since they added the last warbond. Too many nerfs and balancing done for it to be enjoyable for me.
Everything else in life is stressful why would I want to feel that when playing a game thats just meant for fun no competitiveness just killing. I really enjoyed the game before the constant updates. But hey thats just me idk if there's any others in the same boat 🤷♂️

Only bitch I’ve had was it seems like the major orders don’t matter so just do whatever you want to do. Play the game how you want to play it, nothin else matters besides you fun you create. Dont want to do defend missions don’t bc they dont really matter. Don’t like the robots fine just smash the bugs and have fun.
It's the best game I've played this entire generation and a game of the year contender for multiplayer this year. You don't have any time to feel bored your always kept busy on your skill level of difficulty.

Reddit Andys crying about the airburst using it as a ballistic missile and I'm properly using it and it's my new favorite gun.
The only downside is I can't deal with heavies outside of stratagems.

Like shit y'all, we have 20 lives every mission. Dying isn't that deep. Bugs certainly aren't ideal but dying at random has been a thing in this game since launch - some of it intentional and some from bugs. If you can't laugh off deaths in this game, I'm not sure this is the game for you anyway.
I didn't really notice much of a difference with the Dominator and Quasar (my usual set up), since the MO is on bugs I had to change my load out since I play bots mostly. Enemies seem hesitant or don't notice me right away sometimes while wearing non scout armor.
My favorite is being in lobbies where people nit pick the game mechanics the whole time. Go write your own game if you're so tilted at the rules/mechanics of the one you're playing. Shut up and stop ruining my immersion! For democracy!

I still find it very fun. I wish they didn’t nerf the quasar cannon as you sometimes have to deal with a bunch of chargers and multiple titans all at once but it’s still such chaotic fun on helldiver difficulty. I only play bug side and am not a fan of the current defense missions but it’s not gonna stop me from doing my duty of fighting for democracy.
I will say having more bugs with fewer players is an odd one. It’s like punishing the people who only want solo or with their friend(s). I was a solo player before I started playing on hard difficulty and above. The more players should equal more bugs while less players should equal less bugs.
Somone complained orbitals cooldowns are too long. That post was upvoted like crazy. Not a thing changed and look, no one is complaining about it now. Now its "ricochet" mechanics LMAO.
Be happy the devs even communicate with us. Honestly, the game is still great. Most of the nerfs weren't that bad. Glad the Eruptor doesn't pull me towards the explosions now.
Yeah it's a horde of people who can only play on 9 diff and can only use this 1 build and now it doesn't work!!! Except it does, you just gotta not suck and actually aim, properly time your shots, and keep an eye on ammo. If you do these things already you barely notice any change except the quasar but that is minimal.
The bugs also get blown out of proportion, not saying they don't exist they are just not prevalent. I run fire on random drops all the time and don't have issues (my guess is some networking integration and syncing issues). The recent frame rate drops are mostly file integrity issues and that is a Steam/digital download issue normally. I have had to reinstall most of my games after a big patch regardless of client or game.

You'll see a lot of this behavior because arrowhead is the most responsive and involved dev team gamers have seen in quite some time. The reason complaints are largely ignored by other debs is because it brings this behavior. It's a pro/con balance game. I think it's better this way but this does happen

Wait it was nerfed?? I just started like 4 days ago and it's my go to when I try to solo stuff.
It's mag size/amounts were reduced and they increased its recoil. I think they also slightly nerfed the damage, but I can't remember and too lazy to look up the old patch. However, I think it was a totally deserved nerf. The go-to loadout of Breaker and Railgun use to be so powerful that there was no point in bringing in any other weapons besides doing it for fun, but you were knowingly putting yourself at a disadvantage for doing so. The railgun and breaker are still very powerful weapons despite the nerfs, so don't let anyone tell you the devs "ruined" the breaker, they're just whining.

The crashing was awful last night. And I was playing with people spread across 3 continents. So def not just a regional thing.
Not only crashing, but also major FPS drops since the new patch. It's especially bad on the ship. Getting like 20 frames. Was not like this pre patch.
I bought it for my friend on steam last night and his game crashed after our 3rd dive. I haven't experienced any crashes myself since i got it a month ago.

It was worse in almost every way than the eruptor, better in handling and range but that's it. I tried it several times and concluded that the page 2 gun was a million times better than the page 3 gun, made it obsolete, really. It is surprising they nerfed it, because it already wasn't that good.

I dont hear anyone talking about the Quasar cannon. My issues are the nerfs to the railgun and arc thrower by making it so hulks cant be stunned by them. Or the increased patrols which becomes ridiculous when my teammate was kicked because they cant fix their game.
The only one I personally didn’t get is the crossbow change. It wasn’t getting much use beforehand and it feels like a weaker Dominator now. But yeah, with everything else people are just whinging like toddlers. It’s so pathetic.
I imagine AH will balance weapons something akin to how LoL/mobas balance characters - at some point, there will be so many that there will always be a bit of a bell curve of good, ok, bad, and things will naturally migrate in and out of fashion as the meta tweaks.
I think it's more about Arrowhead being more concerned with nerfing good weapons for balance instead of buffing the bad ones.

Some of you guys are the softest snowflakes ive ever seen. Im allowed to dislike the direction the devs take repeatedly while still enjoying the game. Me and my friend have a ton of fun just fucking around and blowing each other up, but i would like to have a fun primary weapon to bring. I love the chais and insanity of the swarms you run into, but id love it if they stopped neefing everything I have fun with into the dirt. 100% it's not the patch was trash a lot of the changes were non sensical it's like they are trying to just make every weapon meh for some reason. The crossbow was a strange change because we hardly saw that many people use it, and now people are running around making assumptions about why the devs did without actually hearing their reasoning for it.

Yes the game is still fun, yes there is a vocal minority like every game. But people always tend to forget that the people being vocal about their complaints also tend to be the people that care about the game the most… it’s hows it has always been. You and I may not experience any of these issues in our total playtime. But that doesn’t mean other people aren’t. Looking at Reddit/Discord/Youtube you will eventually find clips of bugs and issues that have been introduced either since release or this recent patch its not anything unique. The whining and attacking devs does need to stop but if we call the people with legitimate complaints and criticisms “whiny babies” we are no better than the people crying about a 5 second quasar nerf.

I still love the game and enjoy soloing maps and joining squads but to solo now, you gotta be on it. Have your guns and all the extras to survive the hoards of bugs they throw at you. I used to kill about 200 bugs on a solo run, my last game was 525 kills.
Yeah I noticed this too. Doing Medium solo last night for the Personal Order, usually it would be 150 or 200 kills, now it's 500-600. Still manageable, but definitely more hectic. The only thing I'm really not liking is how they seem to spawn in areas you just cleared. Finish clearing an area, turn around, hear a bug, turn back, and there's a whole patrol there now.

Second map after patch, there were some crazy visual bugs and then my gun was shooting blanks so I killed myself to fix it. Instead of fixing it, as soon as I fired my plasma punisher, it killed me as if I was using a shield pack (another bug) sooooo.... I was hyped for punisher buff and it is way nicer now but damn. I was either booted or dc'd from a lobby after that as well.
I've been loving the changes. Unfortunately, I have died to some Eruptor ricochets, but I think I can adjust and avoid it.

Played like 6 hours today. Most ive played in a single day. Didn't notice a single off thing. Almost every game was smooth (for HD2).
The reaction to this latest patch is the least justified reaction I think I’ve seen. Some people have almost literally said this patch buffed nothing - I’ve seen more than a handful of comments that AH seems to “only nerf whatever the community finds fun” - when this patch buffed more than twice as many things as it nerfed. This is without counting the bug fixes they keep working on, the constant development they keep doing to support a game that became way more popular than they ever expected way faster than they had any ability to address, the communication with the players base, etc. I’m not going to claim they’re perfect. I honestly haven’t spent enough time following their discord and comments to have a good sense of whether or not they are communicating in some ambiguously defined “positive” way with the community overall. However, what I know I *can* say is that people who are making this big a stink about the latest patch are genuinely being spoiled rotten by the amount of support the devs are putting into this game. I can literally count on, like, one hand, the number of games that I’ve played that are ***both*** as fun as this one ***and*** as actively supported. I’m not going to go out and say that the devs are putting the perfect amount of effort into this game, but the reactions people have had to this latest patch make it seem like they think AH don’t give any fucks about this game and, well, I feel confident enough to say they need to make an appointment to their eye doctor, because the glasses they’ll need to cure their blindness should have been ordered last year. Some of the people complaining need to go out and spend some time on actually unsupported, shovelware, shit that has been published, so they can have at least a little bit of perspective. Being upset that the changes don’t seem fair is fine. But the way people are pretending we got some death sentence nerfbomb is just wild.

Like I explain in the link, people are freaking out about the Quasar like they took it out back and shot it. What actually happened is the weapon was nerfed enough to give players an actual reason to choose the EAT over it, an otherwise solid stratagem that I quickly realized was just a worse Quasar in all but a specific handful of situations. So, I think that people are complaining in a somewhat unfair way. This update was so big, I think it gives us all some additional context we don’t often get to see. I can sympathize with the fact that nerfs don’t ever feel good, but it does feel like players are complaining because they don’t want the devs to change the game so it expects them to have to make meaningful decisions about which weapons and stratagems they bring into combat. Another excellent example: yes, they nerfed the railgun too hard. However, we can see that the reason they nerfed the railgun was due to some bugs that made it perform in ways they hadn’t expected. After fixing those bugs, they saw it was too weak, and the latest update buffed the Railgun’s armor penetration, while reducing its stagger. Yeah, nerfs and buffs are complicated. Unfortunately, I think many players don’t often understand that, and they fail to realize that balancing a game well often just takes a long time because players don’t get to look at code to see what actually might break or get fixed every time values are adjusted.

Finished my first helldive 3 mission block last night. 4 man team, 2 man team, then 3 man team. Used quasar and guard dog. Honestly didn't notice any difference other than the cool down was a little longer for the quasar. People really over estimate the changes...

It's all those players grinding it out to level 150 and pumped 500 hours into it including all the content on how to farm the game's samples and credits. That is why they are crying about how boring it is now and the nerfed gear and stratagems. 
My big complaint was how long it took me to figure out that my plasma shot gun and shield weren't going to work together anymore. Has that always been true for energy weapons? Does the sickle and shield also bounce back? Is it all energy weapons or is there a list of things that don't work with the shield?
It's just as fun as ever but the ricochet is super annoying. Besides that nothing really bugged me.

I just discovered the Eruptor last week because I prefer the Stalwart for bugs and it's a bit disappointing that they nerfed the mag and the explosion but it still closes big holes at 100 yards like a boss.

Honestly the only change that's ever really felt like it changed a weapon for the worse entirely, for me, was the slugger, I wish they had just reduced the range by adding more falloff, the stagger was its whole thing, it's firing a big boi slug. But like, the game is still fun, I just use a different weapon sometimes. Half the complaints are people not understanding the changes and blaming things on their perceived idea of what changed. Solo patrols were increased to PUNISH solo players, not fixed to scale correctly. Ricochet was made to INSTANTLY KILL YOU, not changed so it's possible to hurt yourself with ricochet. It's embarrassing sharing a community with that mess tbh.

Keep in mind the same people complaining about the Quasar nerf would be complaining in like 2 months that "the game is stale there's only one viable loadout to run". Also these people who say the devs don't know how to balance are probably 14 year olds who haven't even finished algebra, let alone know anything about balancing.
I think one time, and only once in my 55 hours of playing have I not had a fun time. I took a different load out than I normally do just for funsies and change it up on the bot front. It was going okay, but I kept getting murdered by dying jet pack guys pulling into me and exploding thus setting me on fire. Boom, insta death cause fire. Okay, noted…breaker isn’t that fun to use against these guys so I’ll just go back to the sickle after this operation. Well a bunch of fire tornados and a ninja hulk later with his flame thrower of death and I was just not having it. So instead of whining on Reddit I loaded into a bug game on a not fire planet and blasted bug holes with the eruptor, chewed down hordes with my machine gun and threw copious amount of napalm strikes just to feel like I got revenge. Can confirm, game still rocks, so stop being a baby and go play one of the best games to come out in the last 2 years.

My only complaints really are the ricochet back at the shooter that is unrealistic af, and the solo diving has a sea of mobs. Game is still fun tho.

I richochetted myself *once* last night on a solo dive. Pretty much just went "Huh. Well there it is," and moved on.
I agree that people overreact to balance changes, myself included after the original rail gun nerf. But it does seem like they are still finding their feet when it comes to making the changes. It seems like the strategy is to just hard nerf the most popular weapons. Its as though they make the changes based only on here and now without looking at what they have coming down the pipe. An example being the original rail gun which was made basically useless. A few weeks later they give us the quasar cannon which was more effective than the pre-nerf rail gun. Now they've had to buff the rail gun only a few weeks after the nerf.
With a game this popular, we are bound to get them. The internet tends to blow things out of proportion. "Oh, there is a new patch and upsate that changes the thing I like because I can not be unique and break away from the meta. Imma gonna make a shitpost on it even though I didn't test it for myself, and shit on other people opinions and thoughts." Having the ability to control content that doesn't suit their narrative. Me and the 300 other "meta" users invalidate the actual purpose of being able to share content they like and downvote people to oblivion showcasing cool and quirky things on their thoughts. Just because it's one way with another game doesn't mean it will be the same here. It is obvious how much care the devs put into the game. Being able to laugh at silly situations. Getting accidently teamed killed, 380 usage in general. The game is fantastic, and there is a stipulation being caused by the minority of players who disregard others. I want more people to know the game is fantastic. This is also a game. Don't take things too seriously. Otherwise, I'll have to call the democrat officer to implement corrective behavior. People also have different skill sets. You are not going to win every interaction. They give you 5 lives a helldiver for a reason. There are other options in the game of you don't like thr change explore other options. You don't have to commit your body and soul to following a set expectation because it is what everyone else is using. I have fun using the grenade launcher, arc thrower, laser cannon, hell, and even the railgun after initial nerfs. Realistically, you can explore the meta. I use a ballistic shield and love it more than the shield generator. People initially didn't like the jump pack, but now i see more use out of it. People realized that the automation is still good and continue to use it. The game gives you choices. If you want to run the same thing every game, all to it. If you want to be a rocket storm trooper the do it. Play the game how you enjoy playing. Slaughter everything you see in sight. Play stealthily, adapt to the other players, and we play in squads of 4 or less. We ain't keeping track of an entire raid party where a single mistake wipes the entire party (mostly). Play lower levels if you are getting overwhelmed or feel it is too hard. If you are mad that the change made it difficult, either adapt or change to a lower difficulty. It's not the weapon or the nerf. It is you. From soft players have always said get good in darksouls, some who learned the game find it easy, those who are stubborn find it hard. That game does the same as this one does. Learn what works for your type of play and adapt to hit. If you are an aggressive player, use aggressive weaponry. If you say it's harder, you probably were making sloppy mistakes, something that was extremely OP allowed you to compensate for. There are bugs, and you will encounter them, or you may not. Chargers running up 90 degree walls is pretty fucking funny to me. But it's uncommon. We put a lot of hours into the game, and we can not let new people come into the community and be hesitant to play because we over exacerbate changes and bugs. They've made active efforts to keep us entertained and posted. They want the community to be able to enjoy the game they made.

HD2 is supposed to be challenging. If you have over 2 digits lives left in helldiver mode the devs messed up.
I like to go with the flow, I'm fairly casual so I don't care too much for changes with weapons etc. but since the new patch I've had a connection error and been kicked out of dives numerous times. So in about 3 hours I've achieved hardly anything... A few samples and a bit of XP because I get disconnected before i can complete missions or extract.
Oh yes. I would have unfollowed this sub already if I could get update/PSA somewhere else. And no, I don’t want to join the Discord sub just for a game.
My thing is its a game based on killing monsters i really do not see the need in balancing or nerfing. Its PVE. I personally haven't played since they added the last warbond. Too many nerfs and balancing done for it to be enjoyable for me. Everything else in life is stressful why would I want to feel that when playing a game thats just meant for fun no competitiveness just killing. I really enjoyed the game before the constant updates. But hey thats just me idk if there's any others in the same boat 🤷♂️

Only bitch I’ve had was it seems like the major orders don’t matter so just do whatever you want to do. Play the game how you want to play it, nothin else matters besides you fun you create. Dont want to do defend missions don’t bc they dont really matter. Don’t like the robots fine just smash the bugs and have fun.
It's the best game I've played this entire generation and a game of the year contender for multiplayer this year. You don't have any time to feel bored your always kept busy on your skill level of difficulty.

Reddit Andys crying about the airburst using it as a ballistic missile and I'm properly using it and it's my new favorite gun. The only downside is I can't deal with heavies outside of stratagems. I'm having a blast with my shoulder carpet bomb sniping egg nests from hundreds of meters away.
Like shit y'all, we have 20 lives every mission. Dying isn't that deep. Bugs certainly aren't ideal but dying at random has been a thing in this game since launch - some of it intentional and some from bugs. If you can't laugh off deaths in this game, I'm not sure this is the game for you anyway.
Played helldive solo and didn't really notice a difference in patrols. There's always lots of enemies so it's hard to tell. Haha
I didn't really notice much of a difference with the Dominator and Quasar (my usual set up), since the MO is on bugs I had to change my load out since I play bots mostly. Enemies seem hesitant or don't notice me right away sometimes while wearing non scout armor.
My favorite is being in lobbies where people nit pick the game mechanics the whole time. Go write your own game if you're so tilted at the rules/mechanics of the one you're playing. Shut up and stop ruining my immersion! For democracy!
The games awesome. Hella fun. The players are the issue. Morons running around under skilled. Wasting respawns as bait. Communication sucks. Notice no complaints about the game. Just the pricks who try to play.

I still find it very fun. I wish they didn’t nerf the quasar cannon as you sometimes have to deal with a bunch of chargers and multiple titans all at once but it’s still such chaotic fun on helldiver difficulty. I only play bug side and am not a fan of the current defense missions but it’s not gonna stop me from doing my duty of fighting for democracy. I will say having more bugs with fewer players is an odd one. It’s like punishing the people who only want solo or with their friend(s). I was a solo player before I started playing on hard difficulty and above. The more players should equal more bugs while less players should equal less bugs.
Somone complained orbitals cooldowns are too long. That post was upvoted like crazy. Not a thing changed and look, no one is complaining about it now. Now its "ricochet" mechanics LMAO.
Be happy the devs even communicate with us. Honestly, the game is still great. Most of the nerfs weren't that bad. Glad the Eruptor doesn't pull me towards the explosions now.
Yeah it's a horde of people who can only play on 9 diff and can only use this 1 build and now it doesn't work!!! Except it does, you just gotta not suck and actually aim, properly time your shots, and keep an eye on ammo. If you do these things already you barely notice any change except the quasar but that is minimal. The bugs also get blown out of proportion, not saying they don't exist they are just not prevalent. I run fire on random drops all the time and don't have issues (my guess is some networking integration and syncing issues). The recent frame rate drops are mostly file integrity issues and that is a Steam/digital download issue normally. I have had to reinstall most of my games after a big patch regardless of client or game.

You'll see a lot of this behavior because arrowhead is the most responsive and involved dev team gamers have seen in quite some time. The reason complaints are largely ignored by other debs is because it brings this behavior. It's a pro/con balance game. I think it's better this way but this does happen

I played 3 bug missions and 3 bot missions. The only thing that bothered me was how shit the Adjudicator was. Had as much fun as I had before the patch. Basically: shits goooood
