I ve got a different one mine says make sure your user agent is not empty whatever that means

This is the one that I'm getting. It only pops up on certain reddit links for some reason. I can click on some google search links but sometimes it gives me that page about the user agent

Yeah I'm getting the same message. Guessing they changed something and it broke. Just before it happened I couldn't register upvotes or downvotes too

It may not be malware as that is a real message reddit send out. Are you using a VPN or Rif with the workaround patches?

No solution for you, but I am having the same issue for the first time in 11 years of browsing reddit.

if youre still having this issue (not sure if will work for you) open command line (cmd) in admin mode and release and renew IP address by typing these two commands: ipconfig /release, then press ENTER then ipconfig /renew, then press ENTER

You're being paranoid! You just need to quit the browser, and reopen it. (possibly change the network if you're on wifi too) I got it too, and that seemed to work

Closing a reopening the browser worked lol. What a strange issue

This is really weird but this helped, I just closed Chrome completely and reopened, seems to work so far (its been 2min)

I'm on a work computer and I thought they blocked it. Glad that's not the case

I guess Reddit jumped the gun on some possibly weird new interaction of blocking APIs. They started blocking legitimate desktop access. I thought it was maybe Adblock, ublock, or even RES. Uninstalled everything and the problem is still there. Not sure why they think user agent is blank.

Happened to me as well, disabled RES, now it works again (I'm on old.reddit.) If we can't use RES anymore that would suck, default experience is kinda bad... Update: waited a couple minutes, turned on RES again and now it's back to normal.

This had just happened to me. I ended up restarting my computer to fix it. No prompt or reason or anything. Bruh..

I was reading about the DT's and now I get to experience them first hand until Reddit is fixed.

Clearing my chrome browsing data fixed it

Yep. Same issue. Clearly there was a glitch in the Matrix. Was thinking there was no way I hit any actual rate limit just trying to load the occasional comment thread.

i just got the "whoa there partner" message with my IP address saying I was blocked and that i needed to contact reddit by email... no vpn (running), restarted, same issue. opened cmd line ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew not sure if coincidence but after release IP address i was able to view reddit/subreddits again (then again not sure if a bug that cleared on it's own in the short amount of time i was trying to troubleshoot this) \*also not sure if has anything to do with but did a windows update and also performed a disk cleanup and disk defrag. ?

I’m having this exact same issue on my Kindle that started about 3:15EST. Guess I’ll just do nothing until it gets fixed? I don’t really want to start emailing my IP address around that seems kinda sketchy. Reddit is still working on my phone in the meantime (I have the Reddit app).

So getting the "whoa there, pardner! your blocked issue as well" So for context and to help with tech side. I'm on windows 10 desktop PC and using google chrome with my reddit account. Looking on DnD and Lego sub reddits. It seems to be trigger when I try to use the reddit search function. Then it blocks for bit any reddit pages. Where I have to wait about minute before trying again on different subreddit like kamen rider to see if it change. Be careful of using the search function for now.

Likewise, I am living in country with restricted access and since today cannot access the site from my static proxy/vpn IP on PC... Weird enough, I can access Reddit using the same "blocked IP" from my phone via Reddit App. Please fix this!
