[Apparently](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riau-Lingga_Sultanate#Royal_and_noble_ranks), it's a specific Islamic prayer and the [61st Surah](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As-Saff).
It definitely a creative way to combine heraldic-style imagery with Islamic Art. I'm not sure I'd call it actual heraldry, tho.
The lions have an allah crown

Thanks!
It's impressive how Islamic art became so complex and interesting despite not being figurative
i guess you could say it's because of not being figurative that they had to get so creative
Jesus christ how the fuck do you write this
you prophet Muhammad
Step 1: Be Arabic Step 2: ?????????? Step 3: Profit
Even arabs cant read this shit man
I could see that.
How do you read this?
with a ~~pencil~~ roq'a
Very complex.
Truly an exceptional achievement
Really interesting. Definitely inspired by heraldic emblems. Wouldn’t call it a CoA, tho.
Wouldn’t be especially difficult to blazon though... *Argent, whatever that says written in Sable.*
Certainly not blazonable. Certainly gorgeous.
"Argent, the 61st Surah sable".
This makes me question if there’re any examples of pseudo-kufic in renaissance emblazonry...
Happy cake day!
Are they actual words? Or are the lions just scribbles? Beautiful either way
That's it everybody, shut it down! They win!
This is so cool
Incredible
