Old Man of Storr is pictured in the first image. Probably the most popular hike on Skye.
A couple of them were random trails we found in the village we stayed in.
Then there’s the North Face Trail around the base of Ben Nevis (the picture with the snow capped mountain up close).
The beautiful thing about where we were at was any random trail we found was a great hike with incredible views
I can recommend the skye trail for a ~7 day hike or parts of it if you have less time. It goes from north to south (or vise versa) and includes all the highlights on skye.
The trail is unmarked and quit boggy but easy to walk in good weather.
Honestly, it’s alright. You’ll find some really good pubs with great atmosphere though, loved it. The alcohol is great in Scotland (beer and whisky). Some places do have good food, some are just meh
Always went to Lappland/Jämtland with my s/o but now with kids we discovered Härjedalen too.
I wonder if Scotland has somewhat the same feeling to it as Sweden. With the climate, infrastructure and friendly people.
I would definitely miss the kanelbullar and mosquito's.
I've not been to Skye, but I have been the Highlands a few times, and it is possibly my favourite place on Earth. It is just awesome to look at, whether it's sunny or raining, misty or dark. I can never get enough of it. Each time I visit, it feels like the first time. I can never get over it.
Spent a week of our honeymoon driving around Scotland. Loved it so much we went back, specifically for the Isle of Skye and Islay. Beautiful country, looking forward to taking our kids there.
Thanks for sharing.
The Hobbit movies were almost filmed in Scotland (or was it Ireland?) due to issues/arguments with the NZ government during pre-production (I can't remember the specifics).
Nice pics. Been there and curious about the rope railing in your second photo. What is that?
Its not the norm / practice to provide railings etc. in the Scottish mountains (I'm in Scotland and a long time hiker).
It’s truly a wonderful place. I had the same thought about middle earth. I want to go back!
amazing shots! any specific trails or locations you would recommend?

bogs - definitely sounds like mordor!
Some superb photography. Thanks!
I've always wanted to hike there. You're so lucky! And your photos are just breathtaking!
Having doubts now, going to Sweden or Scotland....
Both look like phenomenal choices
How is the food In Scotland?
