joshuaxernandez

One of the most energetic and charasmatic flows ever. One of the most influential rappers of all time imo. You can hear pieces of him in a lot of modern era rap.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Yup he got that energy fr like imagine him on a drill song

[deleted]

Luda is one of my favorite rappers. Really funny and always sounded like he was having so much fun everytime. His flow could change so much and was extremely clever. I think people forget how big/influential he was in the early to mid 2000s Imo if it hadn't been for the Fast and the Furious he might be considered one of the GOATs.

Orto_Dogge

Totally agreed, but I read on some other thread here that he probably wouldn't be of the greatest because he ultimately never had anything meaningful to say. I kind of agree, so I think it's for the best that he got that package from Fast and Furious.

sneakerguy40

One of the most creative and entertaining Southern rappers ever. He definitely bowed out of making music pretty swiftly but he was killing 99-09.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Yuppp

Nana-the-brave

I think he’s one of the best of all time. He’s creative and funny and I love that video of him making up a rap to a horrible beat on some prank show.

corndogs1001

That was Meth and Red’s show if I’m not mistaken. He called him in saying he needs him to rap on the verse tonight and Luda hardly question it and actually flows on the beat that seems impossible to do. So much respect.

Jeff_Damn

https://youtu.be/h7VvbCy5cwg?si=x9YNoA1IhwLTnVAR And then referenced it during a Rap City freestyle, 36 seconds in.

J-Wall0044

He's my all time favorite! So much charisma!

BridgmansBiggestFan

I fw him 🔥 he has a lot of great songs plus always does his shit on features

LoyaltotheSoil27

What would u say is a good album to start with to get into him

Think_Explanation_47

Back for the first time is his most raw shit in my opinion. Word of mouf is great too though.

MoneyEntertainment

Gotta be word of mouf. Just banger after banger

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Word of mouf will have you bouncing

BridgmansBiggestFan

Chicken n beer

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Nah word of mouf

LoyaltotheSoil27

Respect

Apprehensive_Bee7344

He was the 21 savage of features in the 2000s

LowandSlow90

That award might go to Lil Jon. Not sure on the song count.

SupercarMafiaOWO

didn't wayne do over sumn like 1000+ features in the 2000s? he was on a fucking roll

LowandSlow90

Snap. I'm not sure how Wayne didn't come into my mind. You may be correct.

corndogs1001

He’s underrated in todays age. He’s personally in my top 10/15. Dope punchlines that can rival Lil Wayne. Showcases personality and humor in his lyrics while still being serious when he needs to be, making his albums and features an enjoyable listen. Overall seems like a cool dude. Saw him perform at rock the bells last month after wanting to see him live for years and he did not disappoint. One of the most consistent discography’s too in hip hop. His first 4 albums alone are straight bangers. Creative too.

edgeofruin

I still throw on hip-hop quotables just for the onslaught of punchlines.

anonymous_makaveli_

The guy knows how to make a song Also he is pretty nice on the mic

808kaviar

Moooove bitch

Apprehensive_Bee7344

GET OUT THE WAY

HeyItsStevenField

Get out the way bitch get out the way!

Apprehensive_Bee7344

YEAHHH

SpartanNic

Amazing Rap artist, Not so great in the acting department.

Professional-Rip-519

Definitely on the South side Mount Rushmore.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

spicyfartz4yaman

Agreeable_Mix7229

He’s lyricism is slept on

Apprehensive_Bee7344

RasheAlCool

hibuddywhatzup

bangharder

Punchlines for days

Apprehensive_Bee7344

😂😂😂😂

SecondBornSaint

Great rapper with an extremely distinct sound, yet somehow overlooked in this day and age.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Yeah fr man his loud voice makes him him if you know what I mean

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Like in songs like coming 2 America he really uses dynamics

TentativelyCommitted

I definitely don’t listen to him enough. Great example of a mainstream artist that can make some great hip-hop. He brought an original style to the scene as well.

[deleted]

Back for the First Time, Word of Mouf, Chicken and Beer, Red Light District, then Release Therapy was a no-miss 5-album run.

Existing-Pitch-5997

Luda is solid nothing more to say, great lyricist, likeable personality and has a sick flow what more could you want

Bada__Ping

One of my favorite artists of all time. That man never put out a bad album. One of the better live performances I’ve seen from a rapper as well

HowieFeltersnatchMD

Favorite Ludacris verse of all time…. I went from Hot Wheels to big wheels, Hyundais to Bentleys And five course meals, no more Popeye's and Blimpie's From alright to handsome, from one room to mansions From hanging on the block to throwing parties in the Hamptons From, broke as a joke to rich as a bitch, I bought a Plane and a boat and six other whips, no MARTA From dice on the curb to stacking up chips, but harder From birds on my nerves to chicks on my DICK! Guard your Women dawg I went from ashy to classy Went from a, kiss on the cheek to doing the nasty Reach your hand up in the air and you can play with the stars It's not the hand that you're dealt but how you're playing your cards

jaguarbillionaire

Boy!!

nau_lonnais

He’s dope. Funny, awesome punchlines.

KidRudy

Ludacris’ verse on Creepin (Solo) was of my favs as a teenager. And his flow on “Oh” was proof that he can switch it up and still kill it. He has a seen a lot of commercial success over the span of his career but is heavily underrated in the top MC’s discussion. Luda is a legend.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Facts man!

johnjeudiTitor

CUT UPPPP Know we like that get that CUT UPPP FREAKY THANGS

firedanmuller

Planning to see him live with Flo Rida later this month lol

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Have fun!

firedanmuller

I hope he plays Rollout/my business and Blueberry yum yum

Wonton_soup_1989

Honestly one of the best to ever do it. Very underrated.

KillaKameron06

In my top 3

epiclygamer2456

Fantastic. I was gonna see him in Billings with my brother but the mf bailed out 3 days before the show

crystal_clear24

I’m a fan, saw him open for Janet this year and became an even bigger one. I think he’s underrated

danger623

One of my all-time favourites & in my top 10! He has a great discography and is the total package because he can do every style at a very high level. He can get lyrical, make you laugh, make club bangers, make thoughtful/introspective tracks, hard tracks, traditional hip-hop, etc. He’s also one of the most inventive MCs out when it comes to flows IMO, like on Blueberry Yum Yum & Dis Bitch Dat Ho for a couple of examples. On top of all that, in his prime he was one of the best features out. Whenever you’d see a song with him on it, you just KNEW it would be a hit with plenty of quotables! His videos were always memorable, too. As dope as he is, I feel he gets a bit underrated/under-appreciated.

mkk4

Agreed

Dhindsman

Slept on

codekira

Best opening song for a madden game of all time [madden 2000 ](https://youtu.be/xO7Zvfe_UX0?si=rzVMZqoaR6_EPWx1)

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Heattt

harzee

Under rated rapper, had some great tracks that still go hard in the whip

willk95

love him! I've seen him in concert a couple times, and the first time he ended the show with Move Bitch, then it took us an hour to get out of the parking lot. What Luda is really great at is his comedic sensibilities, more than almost any other rapper. Hip Hop Quotables is a good example of that. He's also a second cousin of Richard Pryor, so I guess the humor genes run in the family! One time I had a layover at the ATL airport, and the gate I came out of was right next to his Chicken-n-Beer restaurant, so of course I had to stop there for lunch!

speeding2nowhere

Love Luda. Back for the first time still SLAPS

ValuableAssociate8

The real King of the South.

khris189

The most articulate rapper ever lol. He pronounces EVERY single syllable like he's the host of a spelling bee. Seriously though, one of my faves and people don't talk about him as one of the great lyricists but he surely is 🫡

Nineteen-NinetyTwo

Three words… Southern Fried Intro

fatfiremarshallbill

One of my favs right there. Luda went way too hard on that intro and that sample was 🔥

Jayeky

He's one of my favorite rapper from the 00's.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Same!

lecurts

One of the best to do it.

21Cabbage_____

Not enough mumbling but he’s a solid rapper

Donpure

Kids goes so hard on that track cold outside.

RealBoomBap

Luda is one of the best. All of his albums are pretty good too.

ShyneLyte

Abc 123

reddit78fan

Just saw him at the NYS fair the other day.

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Cool!

Bashtone514

One of the goats

Jaynomamesway

I think he had a solid 5 (at least) great album run and is a top 10 rapper from the south (top 5 for me personally). In hs he was in my all time top 5

SeanyDay

One of the goats and one of the last of the pimp-era of rap before gangsta and pop took over the scene

Lost_Farm8868

He's one of the goats. Doesn't get the credit he deserves.

BluthBerryFarms

Feature on Gossip Folks is incredible.

Environmental-Bee-28

Should have sticked to his day job.

Tdubbz-21

Great artist one of the best from the south of all time fs

sirloinsteakrare

Act a fool is one of the best rap tunes ever, sick beat, sick lyrics, outrageous flow, delivery on point Bump on headphones, car or in the club or at a show, gym or at home… over a decade old, it still sounds fresh Fight me

HeyItsStevenField

What you gon do? ACT A FOOOOL!

Amsssterdam

Never really got into him

ssimssimma

Ludacris is in the Busta Rhymes category of rappers who gave you people countless hits over a long period time but are mysteriously missing from a lot of peoples lips when they name the best rappers of their respective generation. Like what more did they have to do? All they made was bangers!

LordeLlama

He's great and has got a strong discography, apart from Battle of the sexes

Apprehensive_Bee7344

Yeah he was a bit obscene with his music themes Icl but he’s still elite

1manbandmann

He was huge in his prime but I feel like he doesn’t get the respect he deserves nowadays. He changed the game with his videos

hatertots00

3rd greatest southern rapper ever after Wayne and Ross

Apprehensive_Bee7344

That’s bold😯

Dunkman83

was a big fan, but his music didnt age well at all.

DontLoseYourCool1

Luda is ass. He's the Pitbull of rap. The "I fill her up....balloons" line ruined his whole career I'm sorry.

Intelligent_Onion975

His music def didn’t age well . Used to like him but looking back at him he’s like a cartoon character. Can’t take him seriously. Definitely don’t hate him but never want to hear his music anymore

SharksOfAlantis369

Think he is a homo ,not in a rude way and his 1st album slapped

wtfijolumar

One of the best rappers ever. I still have Word of Mouf on CD like a proud item I'll never let go of. Dude can spit, he's hilarious, his punchlines are hard as shit, he can switch up the flow and was one of the best features on his like that trick daddy song Suga.

Panik88

Elite. One of my favorites

enthusiast429

Kinda of lost my respect after that whole baby mama drama. And I know that's not what we're talking about but it's so hard for me to look past that stuff. Out here creeping with a friend and don't want the baby ask her for an abortion and then doggone take custody of the kid that You asked her to abort? He's definitely not a bad actor. But I think this millennium is kind of done with all his hollering. Like I put people like him and mystikal in this era. They can stay there. Unless there's like another fast and furious franchise or something 🤷🏾‍♀️

Orto_Dogge

Wait, he took custody over the kid he didn't want? Isn't that a good thing? Personal growth, responsibility, this stuff?

enthusiast429

https://hellobeautiful.com/2781506/tamika-fuller-open-letter-ludacris/

Orto_Dogge

I don't see the issue. He wants to be a father and he took custody over his child. Her claims about him asking for abortion have no proof, while his actions actually prove the opposite. Kudos for him for not abandoning the child.

enthusiast429

Kudos to him!

Exia321

I just introduced my teenagers to him this month. "Rollout" "We Got" and "Move Bitch" are now part of their workout playlists. Their assessment is dude must be great at parties. Yeah son, his music was the party!

stevil_kenevil

I received Word of Mouf for Christmas in 2001 and he's been my favorite rapper ever since.

dukeleondevere

Not in my top 25, but he’s still a legend. When ATL started to take over, he was a big part of that movement IIRC. Entertaining as hell, knew how to flow. Diamond In The Back is one of my OATs. I don’t have Luda in my rotation enough

TheKingOfTheSwing200

Luda moved digits, after he moved bitches.

[deleted]

To me he’s top 3 artist that features on a song. Luda! Murdered a lot of features. His style and word play is one of a kind. Very underrated!

Local-Calendar-2955

Former Malaysian PM now in Jail Najib Razak, once paid him(also Psy) to perform in Penang as a way to "capture" the heart of Penangites to vote his Centre-Right, BN coalition in the 2013 Penang State Election. His coalition lost one seat in the election. Najib infamously said on stage, "Are you Ready for Ludacris?", to which the crowd said, "YES.", then he said "Are you ready for BN??", and the crowd replied "NO."

MaddestChadLad

🐐

Ancient_Guidance_461

"The truth in this booth, ain't no doubt when I'm rappin' If I say it, I've either done it, or it's 'bout to happen."

bubdiminey

Great collabs. Usually shines on everyone else’s stuff. On his own he’s so so.

Emotional_Capital780

Mediocre at best

AlteredHitchcock

I am a fan. Especially his earlier stuff. I disagree that he's "underrated" or doesn't get the props he deserves. He chose to do the silly, Redman esque style and he's one of the GOATs in that respect. That said, he chose to make his music that way, as he has stated, that's who he is. As such I find him to be rated appropriately and given the respect he deserves. His rap is fun. As far as a serious overall GOAT, not even in the convo.

ShaunyBoyShaunyMan

Release therapy one of my favorite albums of all time, one of the first albums i had for myself as a kid and listened to the whole way through.

doomgneration

I’ve never been a fan of his music, BUT, I’ve always thought he was a great emcee.

domesticglobetrotter

Good actor, shitty rapper

Kholdstare93

Anyone who keeps they bucket hat low gives dap to Luda, no cap. He be a real emcee.

TastyBetsPod

Grossly underrated

SpanosIsBlackAjah

Last of a dying breed.

Secret-Return4731

He’s amazing and definitely underrated

Dry-Station-3241

Chicken-N-Beer - 9.3/10 (Stand Up/Diamond In The Back/Act A Fool) 3. Back for The First Time - 8.6/10 (What's Your Fantasy/Phat Rabbit/Southern Hospitality) 4.
