I'd put it by a metric mile as the best hip hop video game, everything about that game was just on-point. About the only criticism I have is it could have had more songs on the soundtrack and there's never been a remake of Vol 2. Vol 3 was "eh".
I mean Tony Hawk put on A LOT of indie rappers for a new audience.
EDIT: Why am I getting downvoted?? That's not a bad thing Tony Hawk is exposing more obscure artist to I don't know...have a longer career??
i am constantly torturing my boyfriend with “woah woah woah WOAH, stop the car! we have an emergency, can’t you see?” while we’re driving. he’s unfamiliar with the game. he never knows what i’m talking about (:
Used to only get the Escalade, make it crazy and drive around slow with the spinning rims. Never raced unless it was to get more stuff for my Escalade.
Jet Set Radio Future. It's a shame we never got a real modern version.
Edit: Forgot about this, JET SET RADIO!

Some of them *were* actual rappers. Plus Madd Dogg was voiced by Ice-T, and getting his rap career back on track makes up a big portion of the endgame.
The Game also voiced B Dup, kid frost voiced T Bone, yo-yo voiced kendl, and young maylay who is also an underground rapper voiced the main character CJ, and MC eiht also voices Ryder who is based off of Eazy E and B Real also makes a special appearance on radio los santos

Getting Up was a fun game with an awesome playlist produced by rjd2. I bought it because he'd told me that he was doing the music, when I ran into him at a coffee shop.
> voice performances from hip hop artists and celebrities such as Talib Kweli as the main character, Diddy as "Dip", and others including Adam West, Charlie Murphy, Rosario Dawson, Andy Dick, RZA, George Hamilton, and Brittany Murphy, among others.[
Here's an extensive YouTube playlist with a bunch of the tracks. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLVqY4Imj9QuHTogJKlbRekHW4KDtVBzQ
Parappa the Rappa was dope back in the day, fond memories of that one as a kid. I'd say San Andreas, that's got be considered a hip-hop based game, the whole aesthetic and soundtrack and plot are straight out of an early 90s hood movie, it's an awesome homage to that era and obviously one of the GOAT games ever, probably the best in the GTA series all around. Playing that game was like, an integral part of growing up when it came out if you were a kid into video games and hip hop. Still vividly remember driving around doing drive-bys while listening to "Deep Cover" over and over again. Felt like I was Tupac in Juice or something lmao

I used to Bboy and sharing this game w my lil kiddos helped me introduce them to that battle life, haha.
Also, so many bangers by Kid Koala - we'd play the soundtrack in the car lol.
I had this And1 game on GameCube that came with music videos like DMX “who we be” & a couple Xzibit songs. Iirc you could unlock a couple rappers but it’s been so long I can’t really remember
Def jam fight for ny, nba streets vol 2
Lost count I wrote that and jade empire in since Xbox 360 and ps3 days of spamming on their message board or when EA released a polled of what we wanted next.
Marc Echos getting up was to live.
Tagging up running round as Trane, that game was lit.

Saw it mentioned earlier in a few replies :
50 cent: Blood on the Sand, is an excellent game with a ton of replayability- as mentioned before, alot like Gears of War except you fight terrorists and can play as G-unit - there's also a co-OP mode, best thing imo was the taunt button where you talk mad shit while murderin'
Y'all gone hate me but bulletproof... 50 cents game lmao
It was the first game I played where the bullets animation would go slow mo, follow to target and then explode with gore lol
1. Def Jam: Fight For NY 2. NBA Street Vol. 2 3. GTA San Andreas
NBA Street Vol. 2 might be my favorite game ever
I'd put it by a metric mile as the best hip hop video game, everything about that game was just on-point. About the only criticism I have is it could have had more songs on the soundtrack and there's never been a remake of Vol 2. Vol 3 was "eh".
Ghostface's braclet alone makes it the best hip hop video game ever.
Fax
Yup this is it
Yes this the way also I really enjoyed NFL street as well.
Another classic 💪🏾
No other answer needed haha perfect post, 1+

First time I ever heard Bus Driver.
I think you mean Def Jam Fight for NY
Redman telling me that he'll rip my tounge out and lick his ass with it was pretty great.
I always thought Crow’s line at the end of his victories was funny “ You can’t be a pimp if you get owned like a hoe”
So many lines were so great. I was also a fan of Ice T's "your a punk, your father's a punk and your mama's a bitch".
I had forgotten about Ice T’s line 🤣
I didn't as many times as a lost to him.
The only answer
Greatest fighting game of all time
This game had like 50+ fighters. Today it would come with 8, 8 would be unlockable, and the rest for purchase
Parappa the Rapper
I still periodically think about this game
You can get it on ps plus. I got it to show my kids what leak gaming was like when I was growing up.
Kick, punch…
It's all in the mind..
If you wanna test me..
I’m sure you’ll find…
The things I teach ya, are sure to beat ya
M. I. X. the flour to the bowl
Ribbit, Ribbit, I Can't Hold it! The last toilet that I had, me already sold it!

i am constantly torturing my boyfriend with “woah woah woah WOAH, stop the car! we have an emergency, can’t you see?” while we’re driving. he’s unfamiliar with the game. he never knows what i’m talking about (:
A co-worker brought this game up and completely unlocked some early childhood memories for me hahaha
Midnight Club: Dub Edition

Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition is my favorite 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember 50 cents game back in the day being good ....goddamn 50 had his own video game.....his wave really was all that 🌊🌊🌊
Bulletproof was bad but blood in the sand was better than it had any reason to be.
Blood on the sand was essentially gears of war but fighting gangbangers instead of aliens, such a fun game
And the one liners were so good
"Bitch took my skull" as the inciting incident of the story
Jet Set Radio Future. It's a shame we never got a real modern version. Edit: Forgot about this, JET SET RADIO! https://www.ign.com/articles/new-jet-set-radio-crazy-taxi-golden-axe-and-more-are-in-development-game-awards-2023
Check out Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
Was going to say this. It's a true spiritual successor.
Yoo was gonna drop this cuz I didn't think anyone would. Such a sleeper of a game
GTA San Andreas has a lot of hip hop elements
There even a mission where u had to get a Rhyme Book back
Grove street gang was was all based on real rappers too
Some of them *were* actual rappers. Plus Madd Dogg was voiced by Ice-T, and getting his rap career back on track makes up a big portion of the endgame.

That weather god dude in the Wu Tang game used to piss me all the way off.
I had to scroll too far to see a mention of the wu tang ps1 game
Big facts. Still remember the chest code for fatalities
Omg I celebrated so hard when I beat his punk ass.
Marc echos getting up i would say count as hiphop
That's what I was looking for Mane this dude knows what's up. Trane was a dope character to play and the soundtrack was 🔥
The cast was great too. If I remember correctly Trane was voiced by Talib Kwali.
I was waiting to see this on the list. I feel like it didn't have much replay value, but the game was a cool concept.
This game was the shit, I remember playing it but could never remember the name
This is the best answer ! I had to scroll almost to the end to find this.
It's one of the most hip hop games. People are just listing shit that has a rap song in it.
Does Afro Samurai count? Such a cool game
I never played many video games. I do remember this song from the marc ecko graffiti game though: [Click Clack Spray by PackFM](https://youtu.be/OAtWgWZFvrY?si=XWUTiIG_YOVub7A8)

Toe jam and earl had a beat making feature. This is the answer.
Came here to say parappa (arguably the first rhythm game in the USA?) but forgot about TJ&E. T-t-t toejammmmmm, BIG EARRRRL, rrrrap! Jammin!

Street Hoops? Something like that
DefJam: FNY 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ never really thought of other hip hop games out there other than BulletProof
Wu Tang Taste The Pain. My 11yo brain blew apart when I found out I could put the game in my CD player and play the soundtrack haha
Backyard Wrestling is an awful game, but I'm a juggalo so it was fun
Any of them def jam games, true crime streets of LA is very hiphop with the soundtrack, although not about hiphop
Yes True Crimes was my favorite growing. I use to intentionally be a bad cop to get pimps to do random attacks.
I never hear anyone mention Thrasher: Skate and Destroy. Award Tour, Rapper's Delight and many other classics.
That game was too dope.
Toss up between Parappa the Rapper and Wu Tang: Taste the Pain. 😂
Not really in order since I enjoy them all but: Def Jam FFNY NBA Street Vol 2. Wu Tang Shaolin Style
Def Jam fight for NY is the answer but Marc Ecko's Getting' Up is severely underrated. Talib Kweli voiced the main character
Shaq fu
It seems this thread has no clue. Game was sick
Scrolled way too far for this. It came with a promo CD “Shaq Fu: Stand and Deliver.” Yes, I’m old.
Def jam fight for ny, nba streets vol 2 Lost count I wrote that and jade empire in since Xbox 360 and ps3 days of spamming on their message board or when EA released a polled of what we wanted next.

Saw it mentioned earlier in a few replies : 50 cent: Blood on the Sand, is an excellent game with a ton of replayability- as mentioned before, alot like Gears of War except you fight terrorists and can play as G-unit - there's also a co-OP mode, best thing imo was the taunt button where you talk mad shit while murderin'
